Thank you Nathan for always including the paddle out! That is what still gives me the most Anx about surfing a new spot, especially a coastline with heavy waves. Glad to see you make it look easy. Gives me way more confidence to send it on some rock piles

Yeah that paddle out at that spot looks super sketchy, especially your first time there and with just you guys, no support team. And it just looks Sharky. I'd be super nervous paddling out in situations like this.

I had a surf teacher, that would paddle quicker than me if I was grabbing on to his foot and he was paddling, than me paddling on my own! And I was on a foam board at the time!

Even just making your way down the goat trail, you start to connect with pure nature that’s surfing to me, the isolated experience being totally at one with nature, just playing in its purest form
Wow! This wave is one if not the most dangerous and difficult wave in Portugal... Sending people to the hospital all the time. The boils in the face are extremely difficult to navigate through. But you make it looks so easy...So as the paddle out, human Yamaha motor man! You're a legend Nat!🏆👏🤙🏄
I fell off a 3rd story balcony in 2014, and my last wave was at Avellanas CR in 2015... I miss the water terribly. This POV is the best thing for me. It helps me to relive what was the greatest feeling in my life. Thanks!

Most authentic you tube surf vids, the reality of paddle out and take off with no music is so much more natural than slow mow music covered surf images.

Nathan I love following along with your journeys you live the life all of us imagine. may I suggest that my favorite videos of yours are the ones that switch from the beach to the wave shot showing perspective, then back to your POV in a connected sequence not in separate videos. I think that GoPro should work with you and do some crazy algorithm so that the perspective of the wave is more accurate in that fisheye because it's hard to see how insane your drops are or how big the waves are from the GoPro but still super awesome shots to see your perspective

It looks warbly thick and crazy with the fisheye so can't imagine what it was like in person. They tried to have a cam at this spot for a year or so and I don't think I ever saw anyone out. Man portugal is so blessed with amazing surf spots.

Thanks for taking us surfing with you 😊 I never learnt how to do it, but I respect surfers for their courage tackling big waves as I'm too afraid. Riding the "tube" looks amazing and I'm sure the surfing addiction is about seeking that perfect tube 😁

These pov clips are awesome dude , learn a lot from you. Before I used to surf now I’m a heavy smoker I can barely paddle myself , but watching this makes me want to quit and go and catch some waves again.

Thanks for showing how hard a paddle out is. Most non surfers only see the waves we make. Reality is a washing machine hold down for 30 seconds........

Nate, you should be called "the test pilot" or "the guinea pig" lol. You're alway either first out or one of the first, then after people see you getting barrelled off you head, the number of people in the water gradually increases. Early bird catches the worm! You're a charger dude 👍
