I tore my rotator cuff a few years ago still haven’t fully recovered. I’d say I’m at 95% but it flares up sometimes. What helped me massively and I recommend when you feel up to it is dead hangs. Just hang off a pull up bar or a branch for 20-30 seconds or whatever feels comfortable. Do a few sets a day and work up the time slowly and I promise your shoulders will thank you for it
I know ya love your axes. Might be a good time for the gas splitter or fixn on your lawn tractor etc… if I’ve learnt one from living out in the bush is do what you can do when you can do! Just want to see you happily working away😃
Nice to see you swinging that axe again Buckin mother nature has been beaten me down lately and another noreaster tomorrow night wish me luck and thanks for making me smile
I didn’t know how to avoid the knots until I started watching your content. Know I chop around the knots instead of through them. Much easier when your aware of the problem. Thank You for teaching me this!!
One day at a time Buckin. I went through rotator cup surgery about 8 years ago still hurts when I run the 395.But I suck it up and go on.Stay safe brother.
yo Bro you are for sure a big positive energy .always buckin, love time spending on your chanel always.greetings and respect mixed with love from Slovenia.GOD BLESS YOU
I’m going to hang my first axe, because of your inspiration and instruction. It’s from Hoffman Blacksmithing a 32” Curvy Handle. It should arrive 3/3/23. I’ve never used a curvy handle, I’m covering new ground.
Just hung my first single bit axe and it turned out beautiful. I took all your advice on the profile of the head and just used it banging wedges and cut down a small tree it's the best axe I've ever used. Thanks so much for your positive message and all the advice.
Hey buckin...young lad from northern Cali here...I'm pretty new the the channel but have been watching for a few months now. I cannot even begin to thank you for all the awesome stuff you have taught me. I find myself constantly thinking of you're wisdom as I work and putting it to use...thank you Billy ray..you are the best🤟💯
I really needed to hear that about never getting stuck (lol in both senses). After my firewood business vaporized last fall due to family issues I really understand that feeling of needing to swing an axe, or just work at all…so much Truly thank you
Greetings Buckin and Buckin Army friends. Lovely to see you having a few throws of the axe Buckin. Your shoulder and your spirit are in my prayers every night. Wear those boots in good health and may spring continue to bring this community to places you never imagined. Thank you for the reminder that we are never stuck, I’ve felt stuck a few times but it’s the mind that gets us in trouble. When we think (like you say) instead of feel our way through life. Anyways, I’m so excited to see the axe come out, not for my own entertainment, but because I know it’s a deep part of who you are and how you live. We have so much we can learn from people that have worked the land for decades and decades. I wish you continued healing and for anyone in this community that is struggling, you’re not stuck as Buckin said. You are loved, and there is a way forward.
Hi Billy Ray, I'm watching and loving all your videos , and yes, there is lots of good, advice and tips you give out and I appreciate it all. But above all else I just love the vibe you give out through these videos so much so that at the moment I've got stuff going on with my life, well hasn't everyone but I have to tell you something, your short videos really do give me a lift and I feel good and it lifts my spirit. So thanks again keep on doing it please. Good wishes to you all the way from North Wales, in the UK.
Hello Buckin. Thank you for everything you are teaching us. I have learned from you to how to get the gullet and for that i thank you. I have a small 54 cc 1969 stihl 08s. At first i thought is was a small and to old powersaw but after i learned from you to get the gullet i am loving it. Is a diferent saw. Since then everybody from my community and family are asking for my help to cut their firewood and is all thanks to you 🙏. I look forward to see you get back in the bush and do what you love. I wish you much love and health to you and your family from ROMANIA. P.S. I love the buckin army to 😊😊
Hey Buckin...Christine...and the Army... Freddie checking in. I got the message and got the Gullet. :) BTW..Buckin IS a salesman...An honest and sincere one!! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and input...I have been patient since Wednesday, but I am going to fire up the brand new 365 Husky purchased from Walkers, this afternoon. A nice medium size cedar is begging to be processed into firewood. Should be Fun !! Always trying to stay positive, kind and honest...You are who you think you are..!!
Don't love the interjections but you're right we who don't will get over it. Love that! Glad to see you getting back after it and you're also right don't push it. Keeping you in prayers

Wow!! Buckin’ , I never knew you followed Harmless Farmer. I met him at 4-H camp years ago, same cabin. We live in same County. He was amazing. Period. He had an old a John Deere A that he would take to shows. I joked with him & said everybody said it was a hand clutch, till you came around & it’s a foot clutch! Lol . That's the best little ax ever with that bend in it! Period. The ax I'll never forget how fast I could swing it of course it was nearly 20 years ago. Something about the small bend in the handle..
Those felt insoles with aluminum on the bottom are great when you are standing on the lake ice fishing. I add them underneath the felt liners in my Sorel winter boots especially when we get the -20 F to -30 F below zero here in Minnesota.
Oh but I am stuck, but I've nowhere to go so it doesn't matter. You spend your whole life making sure the people you love are never stuck and this is how it ends. Thanks for the love man, its truly appreciated.

My cousin who was and is way stronger than me. Well I could out swing him real quick with that old ax it was old wood handle with a slight bend to the outside back in. Thanks for all the tips on filing Buck n I just can't say that enough. Its awesome to have a chainsaw that isn't working. And take a small file and make magic happen!
Great tips..Hate splitting wood with knots, especially the oak we get around here. I've dumbed my way into some of these techniques, but I think I need a better axe..
Glad the shoulder is on the mend. Ordering though Ripsaw being a Canadian and even living on Vancouver island I find the shipping is prohibitive. Will shop local because the shipping is sometimes more than the product.
