There is also an up to date video where I use PB blaster AND WD40 to unlock and engine that you can see in the link below!
• Can you unlock a motor...
In this video I try to unlock a seized motor with PB blaster!
The customer said it was ok, so, we tried it!
This was my thought process:
Step one- Verify the engine was not moving or able to spin.
What that looks like in real time is, actively trying to start the motor via the key.
Step two- Pop the hood and verify all battery connections were in place.
Step three- Verify the battery is good via testing the battery with a load tester.
Step four- Hook up additional battery power via jumper cables and a running vehicle
Step five- Retry to crank vehicle
Step six- Check the oil, and that's where it goes wrong
Step seven- Take out the breaker bar to verify the engine can spin manually.
Once I verified it couldn't spin I decided to take out the spark plugs and add PB Blaster to each cylinder and let it soak to see if it would free up the rotating assembly.
Stay tuned to find out what happened..

Pb blaster worked for me. I just unseized an 05 chrysler 300 3.5L.....you young folk all about instant gratification....gotta let it soak for a week and everyday ya turn it just a little bit more.
You're probably spot on I would not doubt it but I cannot imagine how much damage it did even once it was unseized. In my particular instance I did not have extensive time to wait since I run a mobile mechanic service and have to charge every time I crank up the truck to come out. I have definitely heard of it working I have a future video coming out with me trying to do the same thing and letting it sit for a week with PB blaster and WD-40 soaked in every cylinder but stay tuned you'll see what happened with that thanks for the comment✌🏿
I thought this would be a really interesting video when you said put J B weld in the spark plug holes.
It was an interesting experience and I thought I could get it unstuck but 80 mph and no oil dont seem to be reversed! Thanks for the comment!
JB weld 😂
Bout died when he said jb weld was thinking how he gonna get spark plugs back in lol
Lol. Yes I did same thing lol. Thank god it was a mis thought. Hope nobody actually ran out for jb weld haha
That PB blaster is good. It works. I sprayed some in a chicks tail pipe last night then I slid right in. Opened her right up.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Long as it was consensual I'm not too sure how many will let you do that 😅
Get some marvels mystery oil and let it sit for a week
I think the customer scrap the car 😭 that's good advice though and I'm sure I'll run into somebody else with the same problem and try it then thank you!
Where you would put the Mystery oil in the spark plugs hole
Sam yes
@@Sam-un5km yes
Am I the only one that heard this guy say put JB WELD in the cylinders ?
Not p b blaster
lmao
Good job Bud, I'm about to use your idea to fix my tractor thats been sitting for 3 years. Fill it up with PB blaster......Follow up, although my motor wasn't running when it seized up, just sat for 3 years but PB Blaster worked like a boss. Thanks for the idea.
Glad it worked it seems to actually do justice if it did not spin a bearing I have a part two of this that did not work out so well either but due to a similar reason the crank journal lodged into the block glad you're worked out and if you doing it again I encourage you to document it and also try WD-40 wrench that stuff works amazing
Dude, JB Weld is a type of hard epoxy glue. You did not put that in the engine but said it in the vid. I hope people don’t actually put JB weld in their engine. You did say the PB blaster later though correctly.
Honest mistake but I appreciate the critique 💪🏿🙌🏿✌🏿
bro, i did the same thing years ago on my friends 7MGTE. It had been leaking oil for some time until one day he forgot to check and add some oil. It locked on him on his way home. He called me up and asked if there was something i could do about it. So i came over, took the plugs out, sprayed WD40 into the cylinders. I then told him to put it in reverse and push started it with the key in ACC position. It turned the engine backwards. So i put oil in it, told him to crank it.. after a while it coughed to life. He drove it for a few years still after that. :D
That's what I'm talking about and that's the success stories that people don't often hear. The last motor I tried to unseized had a crank rod so bent it looked like a banana inside of the block wedged them between the six bolt main crank and cylinder lol 😂😂😂
So he said he was putting j b weld in there at first. I was like “SAYYY WHHATTTT” but I think he meant pb blaster.
Is was definitely with a shot, I wonder if that PB Blaster soaked for a few weeks followed up by some Marvel Oil would it budge 🤔.
That's a very good observation and I thought about it but for the amount of time it would take to make it happen I don't know if the rings would be any good after it unseated itself from being locked. If you make it happen please shoot me an email at Seasallauto.com I would love to know if this works ✌🏿
I wanna see him actually try the JB weld lol
Idk what kinda mechanic you are JB weld down the cylinders?? Lmfao
Yeah I dropped the ball but you knew what I meant 😂
I just got a weed eater in and it's locked up I will be trying this and will hopefully get it unseized using this method
Did it work for you?
Ahhhh Hahahahaha!!!
@2:00
Do NOT use JB WELD!!!!
Huge goof up on my end😅 I wouldn't use JB WELD either 🤣
@@Fasttowpro All good brother, it caught my attention because of the viral video going around of the woman using gorilla glue as hair-spray... 😵💀
Thanks again for the info, thought about PB before I saw this. I’ve got all 6 of mine soaking in Marvel Mystery Oil as we speak. Giving it a solid 72 hours before I check it. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
I don’t think you can turn on an engine without spark plugs and coils back on the motor head.
You can if it's a diesel lol but for the sake of this video, that was just to get the motor to turn over. All other components worked perfectly before the motor locked up. I would have put everything back together if I were able to get it to spin. Hence, I know it would have started. Thanks for the comment!
Ya gotta give it time to set and reapply daily for few days or wk and work it back n forth each time lil don’t force too much , patience and pb blaster, I’ve heard tranny fluid works also or diesel fuel into spark plug holes , cuz they act like hood cleaners Definitely not a job that gets instant results most times
That's a very interesting take on this and I'm actually going to try that for the next go around I have a future video coming out soon and I tried this for a week with the vehicle that I had at my shop locked up and well you will see the results I use WD-40 and PB blaster on a V6 engine thank you for the comment ✌🏿
@@Fasttowpro yes I’ve heard many ways to unstick motor but two that seem to be proven best is tranny fluid & diesel for almost great results 8/10 times. Pb blaster prior to this also wouldn’t hurt nothing. It’s not always guaranteed but seems there’s a higher success rate with those choices.
Damn man water a lot of product. He needs a straw
Bro please put an edit on the video so people dont put JB weld in their engines
I seriously put jd weld in the engine 😅 it did hold. Took a few tries, but it's sincerely not for the faint of heart.
You did not do it right. You should have let it soak suppose to let it soak.2 days
I think you are completely right! The problem is the customer wanted an answer and I live about 2 hours away from where it broke down. There definitely was more time needed. yet even with that it was still a lower chance of it working. Have you had any better luck with unseizing a motor?
@@Fasttowpro This is a good fix for a lawn mower or other one cylinder engine. I don't think it would be good enough to bring a car back good enough to be a daily driver.
@@tedberg1635 your right! I haven't tried this in a small engine but that's good food for thought. I could imagine the rpms being lower would help. Thanks for the comments!
Nice ideal..i heard wd 40 works..some say acetone and transmission fluid..then some say good ol blow torch the cylinder wall..lol.. Good video..B1.
Hey I haven't tried either one of the other options and I will now that you mention it! Thanks for the comment!
@@Fasttowpro cHECK OUT THIS VIDEO AND CHANNEL.. ruclips.net/video/3vEVBZfp0zs/видео.html
@@alphathefirstone1222 I just checked it out and there was nooooo way I would have waited that long to do a unseize LMFAO 😂😂 good content though and I appreciate you sharing it!
I wouldn't use WD-40... It's water based. Liquid wrench or the blaster he used. followed by marvel mystery oil. My boats 671 TIB locked up from water getting in the intake. The engine was running fine when shut down with no catastrophic failure. It's in the soaking phase now.
@@captjohnsmith8595 let me know if that works..there have been several engine i have pass on due to locking up...B1
gotta fill the cylinders and let it sit for 2 weeks
Does that really work
how you going to put jb weld in it. ? and why. it should be soak first. and no. jb weld shouldn't go in your motor.
I don't know why I said JB WELD lol my bad
So would they need just a new block ?
It would depend. The only real way to know, would be to rip the engine apart and rebuild it where necessary. Usually that's the entire engine, head and block. More damage can be done rather than just the block. There are a lot a variables that can make different conclusions. You'd have to get into the engine to tell. I hope that helps!
So once a car engine is 'Locked' there is no way of unlocking it to work again?
Yes, there is hope but it depends on a number of factors. The big question is what's salvageable once its unlocked? Typically what ever caused it to lock up is so major it is beyond repair. You may be able to get it unlocked, but the chances of it being completely usable are questionable to say none the less. i hope that helps. Thanks for the comment!
@@Fasttowpro mines just locked I hope it not the engine how would I be able to tel
Watching comments
When you do that does the car have to be in neutral? Good video amigo
Hey, it would help but not necessary. What would be easier is to remove the drive belt so the engine spins freely and go from there. It is possible to unlock the engine but it takes a lot of time and no promise it didn't bend or break anything internally. I hope this helps! Thanks for the comment 🙌🏿
Jb weld
what if you remove the belt ? and or what if you spin other side? lol
Tried that after the clips, nothing. Let it even set a week and came back. A warm engine and no lube equals a welded like mesh of metal. I couldn't get it unstuck period...
Pat Seaser oh well :/ mine, I removed the belt and it spin, but Im
Sure it should also spin with belt on, I replaced everything, water pump, oil pump, timing chain, all the things that have bearing and spin, I can even spin them all with a finger, so Im assuming I was just in a very uncomfortable position as I was trying to spin it by hand. Now Im in my quest to find electronic issue since I found like 7 fuses blown, but my celica GT have some weird 6 pin fuses blown lol 🙈😂
Hi, I have a question What do you do when your in the same situation but oil is at the same level no antifreeze mixture but can't turn the crank by ratchet.
Does it crank (turn over) with the key?
@@Fasttowpro when I turn the key yesterday it made the sound 1 time like (rut, rut,) then 1 click after that....this morning i tried i hear the starter click and the belt moves like a cm everytime i try to turn it over..but the lights stay bright battery read 12.6v on the multi meter and the same thing when I put it on the housing of the starter..
Thank you for helping me @Pat Seaser
I'm going to link another video that I made regarding this problem because it sounds like your starter go through the prompts and check everything out to verify and also if you're using a multimeter to check voltage then you need somebody to check the voltage while you turn the key to verify that under load is still receiving at least 11.5 volts
And it's absolutely my pleasure 😊
How you a work on cars and don’t even kw the motors you work on🤔
I know guilty is charged I don't know everything but I also don't pretend like I do 😅🤣 hopefully the point of the video was made though. Thanks for the comment 🙌🏿
Pat Seaser lol I was kidding I kw you do good on cars I lived in Kissimmee you and some1 els worked on my 2011 boosted civic si a few years ago I think it wus my hydraulic clutch.. but yeah keep grinding stay away from bs out there..stay safe
Lmfao I can’t really talk shyt I use pb plaster to unlock brake cylinders it actually works 😬
I have locked engine what do I do
Sorry to hear about your engine that can suck.

Check those out and try your luck. It can be done but it usually causes so much damage is not reversible. Hopefully this helps I wish you the very best of luck!
There is some liquid they sell that will help it
I cannot remember the name of it off the top of my head but you are correct the only reason I use that is because it was the best that I could do with what I had and it actually held up but there are better solutions thanks for the comment.
Man you coulda told us that 4 minutes ago

Put in JB Weld?????????
