I saw this video when it only had around 20k views and I was very surprised with how good it was for such a small channel, I watched the other videos and I thought it was kind of weird how well made they all were, so I subscribed to see more of what he was going to do. Next day, RUclips recommends me the video again only to see the views in the millions. It was crazy to watch happen
Same thsame thing's happening now with Lemmy with just 7 videos. Naked Ape got 300k subs like 6 years ago with just 15 videos, but had to stop after the adpocalypse
It’s nice to see the hidden background and story of how this video got so popular. I remember watching the video on his channel when it was at 20 mil and now seeing it at 64 is nuts
AMAZING video, It's SICK being able to see behind the curtains of that viral sensation. We need more of these, thank you so much for the valuable information!
what a crossover! two of my fave channels in one super enjoyable (and actually informative) vid :D mysteryore inspired me a lot to make vids and im amazed at how much he planned his rise.
I discovered this Videos a long time ago, glad to see this behind the scene type of video. I am a data nerd and this put two and two togehter for me and really makes a lot of sense. So thank you so much.
Your channel & the content you are providing is one of RUclips most valuable hidden gems. Thank you for bringing up these tips and ideas it was too helpful for me as a beginner youtuber
Just found your channel and already learned few new things. My brain is going crazy right now. Im having “I know that I dont know anything” moment. Thank you.
I actually went through a really similar process and I studied this exact channel mystery ore to help on my first few videos. My channel took one month to reach 9k subs and almost 1 mil total views from scratch.
i like how id probably just think of a thumbnail similar to that and say "ehh, i guess this looks pretty good" meanwhile this guy figuring out the matrix behind it
i was actually a part of an SMP that he created before he made that video, and i got to talk with him a lot and i really liked the community! it was nice
It's absolutely amazing how a cobblestone house got so many views! This video caught my attention because there is no "correct" way of playing Minecraft and because there is a random cobblestone house in the Nether
Correct on paper, incorrect on practice, the % click also depends of which people receive the video first, a grand-pa wouldn't click on it for sure. So it's all about the algorythm itself that pushed the video to the "minecraft" users it knew first. And this is totally random if you don't already have a strong community around the game, which mean any new youtuber with the same exact video hadn't reached the same amount of views. The problem since 2019 is YT tells you your content is the problem when it's clearly the algorythm. We all know extremly good videos that don't work, even with 100% likes. Also 50% watch time means nothing, it depends of the duration of the video, the longer the video and the harder it is to get this result, but the algo doesn't care, meaning long videos can't work anymore. And since the money depend of the lenght too the result is the same, the video doesn't make enough money to motivate the youtuber to continue making videos (like before). The idea that there are rules to garantee performances on YT is a lie, it's all about stats, and these stats depends of the first pool of people that receive the video on their inbox first, something you can't choose, it's random, if you have 50k subs with 48k fans of minecraft and YT only promote the video to the last 2k your video will fail hard, and the 48k of your subs won't know you published your content. Unfair. The minimum would be to send the video to all your subs, like before.
I like how we over-analyze intelligently crafted beautiful thumbnails like they are a must have for views just for people like cr1tikal to upload a random jpeg without thinking or most of the time not even bother selecting a thumbnail and pull millions of views daily
Ah but that's a totally different situation for someone like Cr1tikal. That's his brand at this point, even though he probably never planned for it. He has a highly loyal audience he's been building for well over a decade. Plus his random screengrab thumbnails and intriguing titles often stand out from the landscape of RUclips today.
Looking at his channel he only made 2 more videos after that. Each doing fairly well with views, but nothing like this one. It's interesting to think that a lot of creators go away after a huge success for the fear of not being able to replicate the same thing they did in that one video. I've seen it numerous times where someone's first video goes nuts with views and engagement. And that's it, they made 1 insanely successful video and never came back. Channels with a single 5million view video just left to gather dust. It's really a shame this pressure of success pushes channels to die right when they find it.
Dang I watched that video and didn’t even realize it til he showed clips lol that video really was big I guess and what’s crazier is I despise those “beating x the way y intended it” and they’re following a guide for the game they are so lame. I liked the one from the first person I saw do it then hated it ever since but I guess I somehow still watched that video RUclips says I did

u gotta appreciate how generous this is of him to share this info
Man you HAVE to make this a series! Golden content!
Ikr
Having a great idea is great but how you execute it is what truly matters

@@TylerF Looking forward to it!!

He had so much potential to create a huge channel with that video but it's been 3 years and he's only uploaded two more videos.
Wow!
Extremely good video!
I remember watching that video, and thinking "wow, that is a really intresting house" and then clicking it
I remember u from ur rewind
I hope you do a whole series on "Bangers"
- I second this^
I fourth this
I fifth this
I sixth this
I seventh this!
Dude I was actually looking at the tweets by jayalto earlier today explaining this video! This is so cool that you analyzed this video!! 😁😁
MysteryOre is the RUclipsr we never expected to go this far.
Wow this video goes into AMAZING depth!!
really love this format. Reminds me of colin and samir but more relatable and personal. really good job!
OMG- DVNTY?! I watch your videos!
I read title as “Minecraft house that broke Minecraft” I watch video and realise it says “broke youtube” 😂
I discovered this Videos a long time ago, glad to see this behind the scene type of video. I am a data nerd and this put two and two togehter for me and really makes a lot of sense. So thank you so much.
He was not the one to create the idea, but he was the one to perfect it.
I never saw the video but I remember that the algorithm was so crazy with it that I had it on my yt feed for 2 entire months
I hope mystery keeps putting out banger content!

Insane views Tyler. You deserve it.

dang thats crazy man, i hope i could try and get somewhere like that because i had gotten 1k+ subs almost 2k then took a long break
i like how id probably just think of a thumbnail similar to that and say "ehh, i guess this looks pretty good" meanwhile this guy figuring out the matrix behind it
I remember seeing that thumbnail and title in my recommendations and immediately watched it. xD
Great video! That was really interesting! Especially the concept of an overall strategy behind it.
Hey, we all have those videos that broke the algorithm at one time
Pointing out that transitions are can or should be little dopamine hits is a pretty amazing insight.
Love that most things described in this video also apply to this video itself. Given the very similar thumbnail and title
Unlike a lot of these types of videos I have watched the original video. This was an amazing documentary.
Always nice to see Minecraft content do well 😁
i was actually a part of an SMP that he created before he made that video, and i got to talk with him a lot and i really liked the community! it was nice
I remember mumbo jumbo had this as one of his thumbnails
Wow, I remember seeing this video and I was so intregued too! Great work
Never thought Mysteryore would return, Very happy for his return..😳👏
Nice video Tyler, Do u mean that External traffic doesn't mean anything or isn't good for a channel?
It's absolutely amazing how a cobblestone house got so many views! This video caught my attention because there is no "correct" way of playing Minecraft and because there is a random cobblestone house in the Nether
I remember seeing this video on my recommendations and think, "oh, that's a good looking thumbnail, lets see how the video is!"
This is pretty cool,
Keep up the amazing content!
The doodles on the thumbnail got me
This is amazing I can’t believe how a stone house breaks youtube
9:12 where is this thing from? I'm very curious lol
How do you only have 1.1K views?? This video is AMAZING!!
bruh the thumbnail TRICKED me into watching this, all the way through. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Well, now I know how the algorithm works
Tha fact is while i was watching this video, youtube recommanded me that" beating minecraft the way mojang invented it" video right down this video!
Mystery ore's video was like stucked to my feeds in that time, until i watched it.
as for who came up with the quick cuts between placing blocks and killing mobs, I think that was PiroPito!
That video is in my recommended right now lol, I've already watched it about 3 times.
Even you did it!
3:34 thats actually really smart
I remember that video and I just realized that it was uploaded 2 years ago
I think at the time i assumed the channel was small but well established and he unlisted his old videos
Crazy how I remember the exact video title from seeing your thumbnail. The exact reason why I clicked.
I remember this video, great video.
I remember looking at that thumbnail like wtf 🤔
i made that exact house before i even watched RUclips
I came up with this video years ago and am so enjoyed I never did it
The video was the next recommended video after clicking on this
i see what you did there… you used a lot of the same strategies in your own video! and it worked!
This is the result of knowing how a system works and working it in your favor, people. TAKE NOTES.
I remember finding the video at like 200k or 30k. I found it funny.
Lol even in this video, he didn’t link his MysteryOre’s channel or the video. You have to search them up yourself. Well played sir, well played
I remember watching this video, crazy how much it blew up
I like this video since it shows how strategic some youtubers are and how the viewers are affected.
I saved that video to my playlist a long time ago but haven't watched it yet, I jus like minecraft
That video is literally being recommended under this one

He won the youtube agorithm, like gambling

@@TylerF true haha
Crazy stuff for sure
haha i saw my friend lomedys video there, hes been killing it on his recent minecraft vid and im happy for him :)
damn i got tricked hard on this one. I didnt even realize that I watched it. truly mesmerizing.

Now he just needs to make more videos… Last video is 1 year ago.
this video looked familiar but when i looked to see if i watched it i didn’t even watch 2 minutes 😭
Cool to see the backstory
Also, why does everyone's pronounce 'Mojang', 'Moyeng' like, man..🤨
also the thumbnail is not just a guy with a 😱 face.
Ok, did he add his commentary to that minecraft video after recording it or does it just go like that? I want to know how to do commentary like that.
he added commentary
This is amazing! I love it!
they showed the secrets of being a youtuber lol
Man is a genius.
I've watched that video at least ten times, I've never seen that many views in years.
extremely Insightful Video
But when will he upload again
I only clicked on the video because I thought the building on the thumbnail looked cool
mysteryore really sounds like notnotbrock
the guy sounds like joe rogan but doesnt at the same time
the vidieo is in the side panel in youtube
I WATCHED THIS VIDEO WHEN IT CAME OUT

No joke I watched this like really close to when it came out
I watched mysteryore's video at the time and I completely forgot about it
Mob Votes are Ruining Minecraft
I’ve seen that video recommended to me many times but have never watched it lol
MysteryOre gifted my friend a rank on Hypixel last year, he’s a pretty cool guy.
That vidéo was the best video ive ever seen 😂,his explosion was sorte it
If he'd kept it up, he'd have been quite successful, but he hasn't posted in a year which is sad :(
