  • Here we see a stunning classic Cessna 170 C-GCKS on the approach and performing a very low go-around, before coming in for another attempt and landing at CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia. This general aviation tail dragger was a really nice visitor to see at CZNL!

      Under the circumstances it was the only sensible decision. If it doesn't look or felt right don't do it is always a good law in aviation. I'm glad the pilot erred on the side of caution. At least that way the pilot lives to fly again and doesn't wreck a perfectly good aircraft.

  • @jimmydulin928
    @jimmydulin928 2 месяца назад +1

    Nice job by the pilot. A couple of things with the steep glide angle and any short final might help. It is probably an A model but any flap is helpful with any approach. If we get slow enough to sink, safer with flaps, this brings the dynamic throttle into play as the most accurate glide angle and rate of descent control. And the dynamic proactive rudder walk, staying ahead of all left turning tendencies because we are already moving and using correct yaw rather than adverse yaw (aileron usage) to bracket the centerline between our legs, works on short final equally as well as on the surface. Good video. Thanks.

      With 170's pushing forward at the instant of touchdown will create a wheel landing with the tail and rudder high for crosswind directional control and then lowering the tail at low speed. It's hard in a 170 because of the springy gear but it's a preferred landing in gusty winds. This pilot needs to learn to get the upwind wing down in a crosswind.
