I just got one of these subs the other day and was bummed that the foam was all gone.I was going to throw it out then I decided to Google how to fix it and here I am watching your video! I've never had a jl sub before but looking forward to fixing mine and trying it out.thanks for the video!
I've had this speaker for over 15 yrs....repaired it 3 times but still hits HARD!....THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Lol same. Just bought two of them used and one of them tore at the edge :(
@@alexklein455 heck yeah with this simple fix you'll be rocking in no time!
@@559powerscape that’s lame. I have some real old school RF series ones and the foam on them is perfect and doesn’t fall apart when touched like my jl foam did.
It’s better if you pull off the dust cap and shimmy the voice coil, this will help the new foam sit evenly.
Just restored my foam on my two 12inch JL W3! Thanks for the info!! System is back to BOOM
Lol Heck yeah! And all for the low $ Beats buying a brand New Set! I'm glad this worked out for you! Thank you for your Support!
I just hit that🔔. Going to check out your food recipes now.
@@phoenixw2w heck yeah! Thanx for support man!
Will this kit work for the 12w3v3-4?
I don't think so, it's a different design. I think the surrounding foam is larger in the newer models
Where do you get the repair foam
Found it on ebay ...

Hi, I have same issue on my JL Audio 12w3v2, did you find the foam boot?
I repaired my two Alpine 10" and they sound like new and I push those MFer"s
LMFAO 🤣🤣Heck yeah! I'm glad this worked out for you! Thank you for your SUPPORT!
I bought 2 used subs in double vent box for 12s. 1 was blown and the magnet was crooked like it was hit with something. The other sub works perfect tho. Shit, i should have kept the basket, i threw it out.
What type of glue would you recommend using to fasten the cone back to the spider on a w3v3. I bought it used and it was already fixed in the past with what looks like white caulk. I'm gonna scrape that off and try something different but am not sure what type of glue to use.
Get the foam kit that includes the glue. Its a black thick gel....I think its window glue honestly not sure tho. But the glue they provide with the kit is very durable
Found one under 20 bucks....

@@559powerscape thanks for the response. I got gorilla glue and I'm hoping for the best. Lol
I used the glue the store who sold me the replacement surrounds told me to use. Was fixing 2 JL W3 12" and it cost me $39 for everything. (That's about $32USD)
@@rxtuninginc8444 I used gorilla glue when I first posted this and the sub has sounded great so far. 🤷♂️
@@BradVicious I didn't say what you did wouldn't work just said what I used to do it.
Where did you find those foams I can't find it damn it
On ebay, I'll post you the link. Thank you for your SUPPORT! www.ebay.com/itm/290761474165
I got the replacement surrounds for my 12" JL W3 from a store local to me The Speaker Shop. They have all sorts of repair kits and the glue. Not much different than ordering from Ebay pricewise and benetfit of being able to see them ahead of time to verify the will work was worth the extra few bucks. I'm in Canada, price for 2 surrounds and glue was $39. In USD that would be about $32 and eBay was $29.

Man I wish I had a 1000 Subs lol
Keep at it man, it's a hard process. Been at it for 5 years now and almost 500 videos. Keep up the good work and you will see results. You need to know what audience to target. Mine is, Do it yourself videos cause, everyone is always trying to save a buck! And I always look on youtube before I do a job because I love to see the process I have to do to get it done before I have to do it. Then I make a video on it! So that's why my videos work cause I'm sure someone is doing the same thing. Looking it up to get answers before they have to do it or pay some one to do it.
Good luck CrimblyHawk! Its a fun RIDE! P.S. ALWAYS KEEP A CELL PHONE WITH YOU, CAUSE IT HAS WHAT YOU NEED. A CAMERA!
Thanks bro
😥
4 Sure man. RUclips is paying me already by the way.
