Cut, Carve, & Polish Series - Episode 3 - Bought 37 Priday & Prineville Thundereggs

- Hi my RUclips family.
Today I'm cutting some old Prineville and Priday Thundereggs from Oregon, that had been part of a rockhounds collection.
A friend of mine acquired these and she ultimately sold them to me at her garage sale. Kay gave me a killer deal so we'll see what we get for the $10.
Note - Kay said Priday at the sale where I got these rocks, but she probably also said Prineville. I heard Prineville and it turns out these are mixed from both locations as she stated in one her comment. My video will have me saying "Prineville" but I corrected it here and the thumbnail. Sorry 😔
Comment if you think I should get more and do this again...Kay has more.
Comment on which Thundereggs you think I should cut more further and/or which ones I should polish.
I numbered them to make it easy for our communication.

I couldn't help myself I got them. 73 more and I've already started cutting them and have those cut ones sitting face down on a tray before I finish them all and do a true reveal for all of you and I. It's killing me not to look. Except for one exceptional one that broke on a crack. So excited 🤯.

@@aaronbaca Wow... Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it. I now have 72 more so I'll probably split it into 3 videos of 24 cuts each. I'm getting a better camera so I'm trying to hold off until then. Soon though, soon.
@@just-one-more-rock Camera is not an issue. The production is spot on and doesn't need improvement. Its just you being you, loving rocks and thats enough.
@@aaronbaca That's crazy stuff to hear for me since this is all new to me. I just started posting videos about 6 weeks ago. I knew nothing about editing, I know nothing about using apps and pc programs, and just a few months ago I couldn't even listen to my own voice or look at myself on camera without extreme embarrassment and cringe.
I appreciate the words. I do know people like technology though and better imagery helps people stay tuned in...I think.
I know it's another generation of my 12 year old but he can hardly watch "old" movies...you know, like 20 years ago 🤣 because it's too grainy for him... doesn't feel "real". 🤦

I think I'll do the other 3 videos and when all the Thundereggs are cut, then I'll pick the best of the best to do a polish and re-reveal.

@@Grandmasrockin You told me to do that a month ago and I did. I have another video where I reveal 73 Thundereggs that I bought for $20.
That's all I can get from my friend Kay but I just found a great source for some 1960's Thundereggs but I'm going to have to make some cash before I can drop some more. There's some huge ones in there so I'm excited for the opportunity to get my hands on them. That will be a video to a local rock shop.
About to start my Etsy shop to sell some of my rocks as a way to make money for more videos, with a video coming soon selling my first item there. I'm really only doing this for my viewers who may want to get something from a video. Good way to feel connected.
Maybe patreon someday if I ever feel like people would want to help support the efforts.

A lot of the boxes (haha boxes is too generous, more like rotted crates) were marked Priday. However, they all got mixed up as the containers crumbled. Just as an FYI in case someone with more knowledge says, "that's not Prineville".
Hey Kay. I thought you said Prineville...my bad 😞. I'll see if I can change anything... maybe the thumbnail...but if not then it is what it is.

@@just-one-more-rocknaw, you're good. Some of them were marked Prineville, some were Priday. The bottoms literally fell out as we were moving them and they got all sorts of mixed up lol
@@ForestFoxMagic Sure, now that I adjusted my title and description, but it's all good to me as well. This is life...we get things mixed up, get confused, and sometimes we actually get things wrong 😲
I made it through rock 5 .... Too slow paced and not very entertaining....I didn't ask for this to be suggested but I think it's ok for others.
Thanks for your opinion and taking the time to comment. I can't be everything to everyone and I'm only 6 weeks in so I'm trying to find my balance.

I'm actually working on a 73 thunderegg reveal video but scrapping the cutting and working towards just reveals. I'm trying to find the balance between those that want to see a bit more of me and how I do things and those that want instant gratification.
Viewer comments like this will help me develop my channel. Maybe I'll have to do different formats so that most can get something out of some of my vids that appeal to most.
Keep up the comments and stick with me as my channel builds... hopefully to something you enjoy.

No one told me to get more but Kay sold me the rest she had. I've got 72 more Thundereggs to hatch and these are larger so I'm very hopeful. Still haven't cut them yet though. Coming soon to a RUclips Channel near you. 😃
