Right? Thanks for understanding my desire to cut into them, and also that not every one of them can be great when it's not an obvious agate or something that shows it's potential. Thanks for the comment 😁
Cutting the rocks we first select as novices is a point i am hoping to achieve but here in uk in spring next year - its only this year whilst watching others that i have collected some rocks that are going to be as random as what you call uglies too - some parts of what is shown on here - we have to go through too and i hope i appreciate each rock ugly or not - they are magic !
I think I'll always have the "Cuttin' Uglies" theme because novice or not I will always grab these unassuming ones. They are all magical in their own way...even when we'd call it a dud. The thing is with me is that I love being surprised and/or finding the hidden beauty in things. There's no doubt that we are all impressed with rocks like agates and cutting one open that was looking nice from the start is amazing, as evident by RUclipsrs that cut top shelf rocks, but for me finding something that no one could have expected out of an "ugly" rock is like a lottery win for me. You could put me in a rich river of gold and tell me that it's rare to find some other mineral, and I'm the fool ignoring the gold for that big win of rarity regardless of value. It's the thrill of the hunt, the thrill of the unknown. It's what I love sharing with you all. Thanks for watching.
I would make the one with eyes in it into earrings!!! And number 12 was beautiful too. Fun idea for a video. Every time I cut my rocks I never know what I’m gonna get. I love the surprise!!! I liked your video. Do it again
@@Grandmasrockin I like that idea. I've gotten so many good ideas from you all that I need to go back through my comments and start an idea book. I thought I'd remember them and get some done quicker but the ideas are stacking high lately so I don't want to forget any. Glad you like the idea and I will do it again. Along with a few other Cut, Carve, & Polish ideas I've got lined up. I really need to get going on all that but I've been busy building a shop extension just for my rockhounding, lapidary, RUclips stuff so that I can bring you videos through all seasons regardless of what the wind and rain say.
@@just-one-more-rock sweet !!! So great to have a (play room) when you have rocks to play with. Lol. I have a whole 2 car garage and a shed to play in but my house is up for sale so won’t have them long. @@Grandmasrockin Awesome. I look forward to it. Spring and summer is best but we can find rocks anytime of the year if we need to. There's always a beach near by if the rivers and creeks are flowing too fast. Good luck with the sale and your adventure.
Couple of them turned out decent. I have a suggestion if you wouldn’t mind. When you’re filming showing them like you did, use a dark/black background instead of the white background. It blows out the colors and makes the rocks hard to see. Your lighting seemed good enough.
@@JnVrockhounding Not too bad. I love the suggestion. I have a black background for my photo box so I'll try that on one of my next ones...but I have another video with a white background still coming because it's done. I use the white background for my eBay items as white leaves a clean look. I personally like the black background. I'll see how it works for filming. Thanks.

@just-one-more-rock there's some awesome celadonite crystals in green stone along with amybgoidal river stones with green glass and white garnet in some of those stones also copper and gold sheets
@just-one-more-rock look up the lost Lemmon mine in the early days of montana territory, the tobacco plains camp is a site I have claim and mineral rights ,just barely getting thru the top layers of a tailings dump bit awesome native green stone with celadonite crystals and aluminum crystals in basalt along with some unidentified stone

Did anyone else see a lady in the left side of number 9?
I looked back. Was it a face near the top? If so, I think I see her now. I love how we can see images in rocks. Humans are so imaginative.

Why isn't it safe for a rock to marry paper?
Because paper beats rock.
