Excellent work on the motor of the golf swing. Start the motor (trigger) with the knees. I think a few million get it wrong by focusing on springing up with the lead knee (wrong) which leads to early extension / post ups and flips. This video is spot on and I'm sharing it with a ton of people. Thank you Chris Hudson - America and the world may finally start reducing the stubborn and overly elevated golf handicap / suffering index !!!

Brilliant observation, Chris. Just recently saw Jackie Burke demonstrating by literally throwing a club off the loaded right leg. Said his dad taught him to shift into the right leg and then "throw" the club from there. Maybe why BH had the extra spike in the Right shoe ?

What I have been doing on the trail knee starting the downswing. What I had incorrect was throwing it right on the downswing thru impact. Thanks, Chris!

Anyone want more about loading sequence? @teachermanhitting teaches what Hogan was doing with his load and right leg launch but to baseball players. I know from watching Moe Norman, who was taught by Mr. Hogan, their fundamentals came from baseball.

For baseball that guy is great. Not so much for golf. He is throwing the barrel early.

@@ayotollaofrockandrolla7219 yes. Their are differences, no doubt. But fundamentals are the same.

Moe Norman wasn't taught to play golf by Ben Hogan. It's unlikely they even met until Moe had won the Canadian Amateur Championship, which resulted in an invitation to The Masters.

I did watch teachermanhitting and i did find some similarities with the body in baseball and golf. Was very helpful. Thank you

Hogan shifted quite a bit to his right and his right leg straightened considerably as he loaded his right side. Look at his swing with the graph background. Just because he loaded his right side does not mean he turned on his right side. Also there are different ways of hitting the golf ball with some people using their left side more than there right side. You may want to be careful trying it this way.

It's like pulling the ropes for the waist; staying at the right side of the right leg; seems as if the waist is passing through the ball at the same time? or the waist passes first and then our arms?

RUclips Ben Hogan rear view. Mr. Hogan moved the pelvis laterally towards the target about 1 inch before taking the club away. Mr. Hogan then moves the pelvis another 4 inches towards the target at the start of the downswing. It is as clear as day Chris. It is absolutely a deliberate move and not solely caused by inertia or centripetal force. The real question here is could the downswing evolve around that trail leg at the start of the downswing with the fact that Mr. Hogan moved his pelvis 6" towards the target ? I think 100% yes. What's your thoughts?

To give an example and understanding what you are saying it's like trying to pull a car instead of pushing a car.

Another spot on analysis of Hogan’s move……I imagine in his pursuit of discovering and learning the numerous changes in his “finished” swing, he was using a mirror and you say rehearsed in slow motion…..at home and on the road pre-accident. This drill is difficult but very doable , and quickens the learning process. You do a superb demo and explanation here🏌🏿‍♂️👍👍!

The one major phrase that is the best on the beach was from his friend. “ that club comes from behind him . “ “ that is all I’m working on “ . Also look at his stance In this slow motion beach videos. He is all wound towards the target. And his mass of his club structure does all it can to fight by going behind him and stopping that shaft from spring out . Like pulling a rubber band as far back as possible . Let go .. and bam. Flies forever
Plus , to really understand the man you have to swing his equipment from that era . Six degree flat , telephone strength shafts. Extremely preset open face on his irons and driver.

It's fine to talk and do slomo demo, but at some stage you need to demo this at full speed, get your student to demo, or use some Hogan footage to demo what you are preaching.

I will be the first student to sign up! I've been doing these moves since 2019 when I discovered @teachermanhitting but I've never had it interpreted into golf.
