I can honestly say that these are some of the best graphics on the original PlayStation, and that they add to the beauty and cinematic quality of the overall game.

Keep in mind, only 2 years ago (1995) the SNES and Genesis were still the systems everybody had. And only 1 year prior did Super Mario 64 come out, which many think of as the first polygonal 3D game that actually felt good to control. So 3D gaming in general was pretty new, and cinematics like these were straight up unheard of to people who weren't fairly early adopters. I distinctly remember thinking, "I can't wait till the far future when the actual gameplay looks this good." I didn't have the imagination to consider games that could look as good as they do now. But I'm still gaming, and still having my mind blown by each new step!
Rebirth is beautiful but these cutscenes for their time were breathtaking. the gold saucer scene in particular couldn’t be topped. Minimal detail if used correctly goes a long way. The little lights around the gold saucer gave the illusion of countless rooms and that the park was packed! Feels larger than life and just soared my imagination as a kid
A lot of the low-poly models are from scenes that are transitioned directly from gameplay, so it'd look real strange if you're playing the game then suddenly your characters start moving in their own for a cinematic and they morph into 3d models.
You have to wonder why people couldn't immediately tell from the beginning ost that Cloud was in sm4sh in the start of the trailer. Some did, others didn't.
It was always really confusing as to why some of the cutscenes used more detailed models whereas some used the overworld models. It always stuck out to me as very inconsistent.
I remember seeing my cousins playing this on the PS2 when i was about 7 years old. I wasn't much into Final Fantasy VII growing up, so when I heard the Remake was coming out, i decided to play the original FF7 on the switch just in time for the remake. Thanks to my cousins, I'm now into FF7

Correct. Excluding the epilogue 500 years later. Advent Children takes place two years after the events of the original game(Holy repelling Meteor). There's an interview where the director of FFVII explains the ending more but after watching AC, you will learn more. There are other games and short stories in that timeline, such as: The First Soldier, Crisis Core, Before Crisis, The Maiden Who Travels the Planet, On the way to a Smile and The Kids are Alright and Dirge of Cerberus.

Am I the only one who saw Tifa's jiggle physics? Because during their escape from Shinra Headquarters and when Tifa and the others evacuated from the Whirlwind maze, you can actually see Tifa's jiggle physics at around 3:46 and 18:05

Sometimes it's to maintain continuity with the gameplay. Sometimes it's due to budget. 🤷♂️
