- #vanlife #scotland #nc500 #microcamper #berlingo #borderterrier #travelwithdog Travelling north through the beautiful valley of Helmsdale, we rejoin the NC500.
Continuing west, we head towards The Kyle of Tongue, a favorite stop over from a past trip in 2017 and reach an actual milestone.
Beautiful scenery and those deer 🥰 What an amazing sight 🦌🦌🦌❤
It really is. After watching the deer from a distance, coming across them so close was a real treat 🙂🐕🚙
The deer were amazing just popping up like that! ❤
We know...talk about stunned! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It's greatly appreciated 🙂🐕🚙
Beautiful video both. Really relaxing to watch and those deer were a real treat to see. We came across a few highland cows just by chance when we travelled the NC500 last year. Amazing to see in their natural environment. Thanks for sharing both, and yes, Blue is a bonnie lad 🥰
Hi Alison. Thanks fir your kind comment, we're pleased you enjoyed coming along with us. No doubt, we were well chuffed seeing those 🦌 🦌 🦌 so close up and as for Blue...he knows it lol 🙂🐕🚙
Wow those deer all fate - well caught on camera there
Loved that beach at the end
Take care
We were just so lucky. Seen one or two on past trips, but never a whole herd and so close.
The Kyle of Tounge when the tides out is a real wow. You often get seals there basking on the sand banks.
🙂🐕🚙
Lovely journey. We did the NC500 , but on a coach. I think we had a different hotel every nIgnt. No porterage and no lifts. It was quite strenuous carrying our suitcases up and down stairs every night. We could only stop where we were scheduled to, unlike yourselves, who were able to stop wherever you fancied. We are enjoying being with you.
Hi. Thank you for coming along with us. We did a coach tour of west America and experienced the same thing. Its was so much more tiring that the tours we do now in our Buddy. We definitely take the slow road.🙂🐕🚙
Lovely video as always x
Thanks for watching. We're pleased you enjoyed it😊🐕🚙

Hi Martin. We love Scotland too. It can get pretty busy, but go to the less known spots and you can find places truely beautiful and yes...AMAZING!! 🙂🐕🚙
Hello again, I see you have an awning may I enquire as to which make it is, the scenery you're encountering is spectacular 👌
Hi. The scenery up there is truely awe-inspiring.
Our pull out awning is a Direct 4x4 and if it helps the link below will show our video review of it. This is the one. direct4x4.co.uk/products/expedition-pull-out-side-awning-with-sides

Ten Thousand miles 😁 Britain is indeed Great in scenery. Blue indeed is a bonny lad. Could have been our 🌈Tucker's younger twin brother in looks as well as in behaviour. At least family. His mum was British.
We'd have to agree totally. 👍🙂🐕🚙
Ha ha sneaky!! It looked like you were in a different van from the picture…. Well you were but not on this trip 😂😂 stunning scenery and wildlife thank you for sharing - not quite the same but I had to stop for some pheasants crossing/ darting about in the road on my Shropshire adventure last week. I can recommend it lovely countryside lots of castles to look at weaving in and out of Wales.
Happy travels ❤
Thanks Jo. Pheasants are so unpredictable!
Can you off grid in Shropshire?🤔🐕🚙
@@the-other-windsors I stayed on a farm site £10 per night & explored from there but I did spot lots of pull ins some looked really good like a lane alongside the road but behind a hedge type.
Thanks very much for the info. Sounds promising 👌 🐕🚙
blessed with the deer sighting so many in one go awesome ,just finished trip in same area ,we didnt want to come home tbh ,alot quieter than you said, thank goodness my tip early autumn, alot of road closures late on due to weather ,. only thing is you have to carry sun screen and de icer just in case lol ,as you've had a boot jump and chapel one what would you say are the pros and cons of each one, this trip was very basic but i think your chapel setup is bang on ,but i wouldn't dismiss the other boot jumps your set up allows easy use of cooker when poor weather i used a bus shelter because of the wind on my camping stove which i bought when i was 16 now the number is reversed sadly lol still cooked a fine curry and a brew 😁 the little van was great on the rural roads steep single track for miles glad nowt come other way mind ,great driving as quiet on roads, next time falls of shin especially when the salmon are climbing the falls but if not its hard to believe they could make it, all free and a camping spot free as well with everything if you want it ie elec /elsan ,great area for wild camping spoilt for choice tbh with stunning views unspoilt landscapes i avoid crowds people in general like the wilds escapism to the max is my cuppa tea can't wait for next scottish adventure weather apparently going to be warm so thinking for a trip to wales i love this retirement game,do what you want 😄splendid
Thanks for watching and yes, those deer were just stunning.
As for pros and cons of both setups.
PROS BOOTJUMP - bigger bed and no need to drop front seats, making access to the drivers seat easier in an emergency.
CONS BOOTJUMP - Not being able to cook safely inside.
Have to erect an awning to be able to do so, making touring difficult. Need to be on site.
PROS CHAPEL- Being able to cook/ wash inside, sheltered from the weather or midge, making touring possible. No need for an awning or being tied to booking sites.
CONS CHAPEL - Needing to fold both front seats in order to set up the bed, making accessing the drivers seat difficult in an emergency.
Hope that helps and happy travelling. 🙂🐕🚙
hi thanks for the reply ,as we would be touring looks like the chapel ones best my cooking observation seems valid and safer in a tight space a very good point thanks alot are you on commission lol the bed looks fine to me and a emergency i can see your point but its doable what i appreciated was how they used the whole van space very clever thanks sam@@the-other-windsors
