you'll know that you're a victim of triangulation when people who don't even know you, look at you with contempt and stay distant from you. often times for reasons that have no validity or merit.
when a narcissist can't control you - they will try to control how others view you...to advance their interests, to manufacture chaos, to derive pleasure from the ensuing conflict, and to look like the hero and victim within the same story.

Another reason they like affairs. They can pit both "partners" against each other and get double the supply working hard making them all central. At least until one or both get wise to the manipulation.

I was the side chick who wondered why my new partner's ex bf was always in the background/why they were even still talking/messaging.
Turns out, they never broke up, and said guy was just as confused about me and why my ex was always "hanging out as friends" with me so much.
We both were dating the same person but confused about the other.
I refused many times to play those games. Essentially after 17 years together. She cheated and got pregnant. By her bestie she told me not to worry about.
I just recently realized what a narcissist is thanks to channels like this. When my stepdaughter came to live w/us,my ex triangulated me & my stepdaughters mom against each other. If we’d not listened to him & worked together, my stepdaughter would be more well adjusted.
For me, the "Me Myself and Irene Limo Driver Scene" is a good quick analogy of how Narcissistic Triangulation works and how Nano-Second fast. All it takes is for them to make eye contact and the connection is made. They recognize a fellow team member as fast as an NFL player can in the End Zone of the Super Bowl in the 4th quarter.
True. Don’t get into a relationship with a narcissist and if you do and see the red flags walk away from them.
Often we don't recognize the warning signs for what they are until after we've been through the abuse.
They treated us so "well" before they showed their true colors.
Now we know, though! Sometimes we can now even recognize a narcissist from the look in their eyes in a picture (like dating apps).
Frustration ensues a predictable pattern of chaos but a plan is stress management!

This is so true and great information to put in your back pocket for that special time your triangulated with someone. Very weak game but very easy to play and win! I remember going to a Trace Adkins concert with my narc and she said to me “Trace is so good looking and sexy” She was trying to ruin my night. I looked at her and said “ believe me if he knew you he wouldn’t like you”! She was quiet after that. I had a great time at the concert.

It was the first thing she did! My brother! When I called her out on it; she gas lit me straight away and deflected blame on her friend when the blame couldn't rest on anyone else but her. Then she sabotaged our first meeting. Mind you the triangulation and gas light occurred when I just crossed the country driving for a week to be with her for the first time before we even met. I had no idea what the hell had happened or how or why at that time. Glad those days are over.
She wanted you to chase then beg. The more HURT she caused the bigger the boost/supply for narky. All superior All powerful. Then you were confused wanting answers. There's more supply. To bad you didn't know what was going on. Because had you NOT questioned and just left in silence you would have delivered a major NARK INJURY. Now she would have felt abandoned that's the original injury. She set you up and set up many doing the exact same thing...
Chasing and begging has never been my style. Best she could walk away saying is that she picked a good target and had great momentum and a back story on her side; she was counting on me to kick the dead horse and bang a circle were the square should be as well as being spinless and to stupid to figure her out. There were many occasions when I couldn’t figure out why the xnarc was telling me about other women. One woman’s husband left her for another. One had a violent spouse. The other was bored, didn’t I know, and had to find a bigger place to find men. Wasn’t really jealous, just couldn’t understand. I look back now and see he was telling me he was with them behind my back. Well, wiser and single. Took a while but happy to run from this insanity. Thanks Danielle. My ex's favorite was "such and such agrees with me about you cause he/she said xxxxxx". But then you find out that no such conversation took place....LOL
They are such under-developed CHILDREN in their world view....so pitiful!

LOL!!! My ex triangulated me with her previous boyfriend, commenting how he always cooked dinner for them. Every time I did cook, she never failed to make a comment about a flaw with it, again pointing out her old guy’s ability. I finally did kick her to the curb, and less than a week later, guess who I saw her with at the grocery store? Yup! Back with him. DILLIGAF? NO!!!

I don't know of this fits, but my ex told me 5 years into the marriage that she was angry the whole time because I had a cold sore on our wedding day.
Like, she never got a proper first kiss in front of her friends and family.
This was her stated reason for treating me well and then treating me bad for no apparent reason for those 5 years.
Out of frustration, I told her to go back in time and marry someone else. Get your first kiss with someone else.
I felt bad for saying it but what was I supposed to do years later? Get punished forever?
Now we're divorced and she can get that first kiss and emotionally abuse someone else instead.

Nah, he ain't did (said that his exes did better than I do) that. Yet he put himself as if he was the victim. He put as a man who always being misunderstood, taken for granted, etc. long story short, it was his exes who always did him wrong no matter how good he was. And I was too naive and I thought he was honest, he was very convincing 😂
Yeah so I did everything, be his ride and die, like I just wanna show him that he was loveable and love does exist. Sheesh....
Now he rides and I die. It was only 2 months last the love bombing phase, then went to silent treatment without knowing what did I do, then suddenly reappeared, hoovered and so on. Years passed and I had no idea what went wrong. Now I have seen and understand what type of person he is.
However I thank him. He's the pain who made me realize that I'm a seed. It's painful to be buried, but only through this way I can grow. He destroyed me so that I can rebuild a new world. He made me lose my identity, so I discovered the new and the better version of myself. And still I love him, but I stay away.
PS after finishing the video, I think she triangulated me with her first husband (her child's father) and her dad.
The stories she would tell about both of them.
It makes me wonder how much was true. Maybe her dad did abuse her and created a narcissist or maybe she was just a psychopath (born like that for no other reason) and her dad wasn't at fault at all.
I have no idea. Just glad to be free and sorry I wasted those years with her.
Again, 8 have to ask. This is exactly what happened with a friend . Did she read about this on line, or is it an in bred characteristic?
