Hello my friends! In today's video I'll review another great and cinematic manual focus lens for Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras (Canon R/Sony E/Nikon Z/Lumix S/Fujifilm/Leica L/M43) and for DSLR cameras (Canon EF/ Nikon F/Pentax K) and Leica M cameras!
The Meyer Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm F2.8 II is a great lens to take painterly and artistic images with your camera. I find it to be very versitile with it's double character. tThis lens will let me capture very dreamy images wide open at f2.8, but also sharp and detailed images when stopping down the lens at f5.6. If you're looking for a great lens with tons of character, this is probably the best lens you can buy.

A big thanks to Meyer Optik Görlitz for providing me the lens, to be able to create this video review! Nobody paid me or told me what to say in this video. I'm simply sharing my honest opinion about the lens, to help you understand if this is a good product for you.

How many 35mm lenses do you own?
Not one yet
17 from 5-6 companies depending on how you look at it.
@@robertmcgee6853 wtf 17....why so many
@@JonackFilm They all do different things. I have 2 50mm lenses and 2 58mm lenses. Only two lenses are zooms and only 4 have auto focus.
I have 35mm equivalent (because i am using APS-C cameras). But i want this Trioplan 35 for a 50mm. I can't find anyone using this lens on APSC though... did you try this on a crop sensor camera? Basically, i want to know if the crop factor affects the bokeh effect. I had a problem with my Zeiss Planar 1.4/50 before: because my camera uses only the central area of the lens, the images are looking way more sharper across the frame. It's the only reason i don't buy the Trioplan yet...
Awesome video, Luca! Thanks for the detailed overview.
Glad you liked it Shane! Cheers ✌🏻
Lavoro meraviglioso complimenti!
Grazie mille Sandro!
Thank you Luca for review. Once I was considering to get this one, but couldn't find an honest review. So I've decided to get CZ Jena Flektogon 35 mm f/2.4 in superb condition. And I really enjoy it, close focus distance, bokeh transisiton is smooth, sharpness of center could be better, overall I think it's great alternative.
You're welcome mate! The Flektogon 35mm is a very nice lens 👌🏼 I agree!
What a nice Lens :) Produces a great picture I think
Yes, it produce very interesting images! Thanks for watching!
I'm building my 4-year plan for lenses on my Z kit. It's a combination of practical lenses for assignment (like tamron's 35-150 for events and concerts) and fun/artistic lenses like this. Im torn between this and the voigtlander 35mm f/2. That has electronic contacts in it. But it's also slightly longer in length and it doesn't seem to have the character that this does. It's hard to say which would work better for me. Thankfully have a lot of time to decide.
Hello, thanks for the review. Do you have a favorite between this lens, the 58mm and the 75mm?
Hello Alvaro! They're all very nice, but the 75mm is the one I love the most. Cheers!
Hello Luca, do you use your s5 for professional work with the moire issues? how do you fix that problem when you encounter it?
Hi! Yes, I do use it for pro work and I've no problems with moire. The best way, for me, is to use lenses that have an organic rendering of the images.. Cheers!
@@LucaBono.Studio thanks Luca.
What adapter to be use fir for this s lens?
They sell a native L-Mount version of this lens. I use the Canon EF version because I can adapt the lens to cinema cameras. Cheers!
Seems like a pretty mediocre lens. At least for the price.
We all have different taste. I really like it for nature shots! Thanks for watching!
