And its had varying levels of canonicity as time went by, the last I recall the canon was that both of them tried to create life, failed, and the Force decided to create Anakin itself so he could kill the Sith. That theory/canon died however after Legends was closed down. Now we have Disney canon, in the comics Palpatine created Anakin via the Force. So Force Impregnation exists til this day, despite being a really, really weird idea.
Not force healing. The revival of the dead. Adult Jedi are able to do force healing all the time. If Anakin just wanted to do force healing he would’ve stayed a Jedi and the Original trilogy would’ve never happened.

SPOILERS it just doesn't have any stakes -chewie dies but doesn't -c3p0 dies but doesn't -finn poe and chewie are captured for like 2 minutes -that planet explodes but the only characters we know there escape -rey makes bad decisions but there's no consequence, just scary danger ooh -ben dies but doesn't -c3p0's memory wipe is completely fixed -ben dies again but doesn't AGAIN ... and people wonder why the ending didn't feel earned while there weren't any stakes in the buildup
@@davidb7208 to be fair, the OT has a similar problem. Outside of Obi wan, none of the main cast dies. Han is frozen but brought back 10 minutes into ROTJ and Luke loses his hand but gets a robot one 10 minutes later.
My exact thoughts. Even his tactics are the same thing from Return of the Jedi: Showing Luke/Rey their family & friends are going to lose the battle and tells them the only way to stop him is by killing him and turn to the dark side.

The main point is that George had an idea of what to do while Disney/Lucasfilm had all the source material possible but had no plan for some reason.

My favourite scene was when Chewie had that mournful roar when Leia died, realising his friends were all dead. Luke, Han, Leia... the only ones left were Lando, a man who betrayed his best friend, and two droids. That was the closest I’ve ever felt to crying at a movie.

Episode 1-6, Clone wars, The EU , Jedi fallen order, Mandalorian, Rogue one and rebels (even though it’s not great) are the only things that are canon in Star Wars in my eyes. Everything else takes place in a bizarre alternate universe.

He doesn't appear in all movies but everything happens according to his plan. Moreso, the skywalkers don't appear in some of the movies, like this one and the seventh, so why it's their saga? That's the worst part, actually. I think The Last Jedi almost had something to say. It was muddled, but it was going somewhere. This movie really could have sealed the deal. But instead, we got this dumpster fire.

I think Rey at the end of the movie should of said, "Rey Palpatine" rather than, "Rey Skywalker" because it'd show acceptance of her family showing she can be good and then play the force awakens music, reminiscing Luke Skywalker's end of his journey or simply made Rey an absolute random showing anyone is capable of the force

If you ask an average fan of the OT what their favorite character is in the OT, they’ll say Luke, Han, Leia, or even Darth Vader. Chewie is not a major character in the OT(a good character, certainly, just not major). ST Chewie is largely a downgrade yet somehow is better than the rest of the films. That should tell you about the quality of the Sequel Trilogy’s other characters.
You have to have some specific knowledge to turn into a Force Ghost, not all jedi know how to do it. Obviously it's a plot thing, because someone could have told her in all those years between this movie and the last one the same way someone, supposedly, told Kylo Ren.

What I didn’t like is that the emperor felt so... forced. It’s almost as if they added him in just to be “cool” and please fans. Think about it. The plot could’ve moved SO much faster if he wasn’t there. He really felt like he was crammed in the by the writers at the last minute because they “had to include him” in some way.
Emperor always felt forced to be honest. He did not even apeared in the New Hope and he was only there just to be that "big guy" that runs the whole show. Only in prequels he at least did something. Dont get me wrong i love his character but holy shit when you think about it his whole character doesnt make any fucking sense what so ever and he's only there more to represent the ultimate evil rather than actually do something. most of the time he just sits there on various chairs now he even became GLADOS and doesnt do absolute shit, and the only time he actually does something it's only for a few minutes. I guess one time he actually did something meaningfull was when he came himself to destroy Maul and Savage in Clone Wars. that was honestly the ONLY scene where he actually did something himself instead of just sitting there on a chair too busy being "the emperor"
And why would Palpatine create a puppet (aka Snoke) for the people that followed him before to follow him again (generals and other imperials forces) when they could simply follow the real palpatine (or, let's say, maybe a clone of him who look a little less like shit, the same way Ezra Bridger was fooled with a handsomer version of the emperor)? It just makes no sense. And it isn't like the First Order had any facade to maintain, they were kidnapping children all the time. But it is Star Wars, they'll make up something
In my opinion he wasn't forced in to please fa-. Okay, he wasn't forced in just to please fans. He was forced in because they needed a big bad villain other than Kylo Ren and Snoke was already dead. Palpatine fit the bill instantly, so they brought him back because he wouldn't need a large amount of build-up.

When chewie ‘died’ I decided that it was an excellent, stunning, surprising movie. When he turned out to be alive, and the second half happened, I decided that I wanted to die.

I’m sorry but no. You cannot tell me that between the cinematography, acting, etc. in The Phantom Menace was better than ROS... I don’t particularly like any of them, but TPM was legitimately painful to watch. Nothing stood out about it. A cool villain got literally chopped after 7 minutes of screen time. Other than that it’s Qui Gon Jin gambling with a CGI alien and a child actor saying “I’m ThE oNlY hUmAn ThAt CaN dO iT” whenever he receives the opportunity to Need I mention Jar Jar Binks
This movie feels like one of those TV series that was planed for 13 episodes in the final season but then gets canceled mid season and the writer now have to wrap it up in 6
That’s what happened with the show Resistance. It did poorly so they had to wrap it up in 2 seasons. I don’t know if it was actually wrapped up or if it just ended because the most I have heard about the show is complaints about it looking dumb. Never saw it and have no intentions of seeing it
Reminds me of another beloved franchise that had material for 12 seasons, but the writers wanted to work on Star Wars, so they rushed it in 7.5 seasons.

I was legitimately giggling every time palpatine spoke. I genuinely enjoy him in the scene. When he use the lightning on the sky and it just fucking bass boosted and he cackled and I just lost it.
Boundary Honestly, Palpatine was the best part of the movie. He got to show off the true power he was always meant to have with the sky lighting and life drain. It was all ruined when Rey deflected the lightning though. Seriously? A much more appropriate way to defeat him would be to absorb it like Yoda in RotS.

And its had varying levels of canonicity as time went by, the last I recall the canon was that both of them tried to create life, failed, and the Force decided to create Anakin itself so he could kill the Sith. That theory/canon died however after Legends was closed down. Now we have Disney canon, in the comics Palpatine created Anakin via the Force. So Force Impregnation exists til this day, despite being a really, really weird idea.

The main point is that George had an idea of what to do while Disney/Lucasfilm had all the source material possible but had no plan for some reason.

Disney owning Star Wars has been a roller coaster. You've got the failure of the Sequels and then great things like Mandalorian and J:FO.
Episode 1-6, Clone wars, The EU , Jedi fallen order, Mandalorian, Rogue one and rebels (even though it’s not great) are the only things that are canon in Star Wars in my eyes.
Everything else takes place in a bizarre alternate universe.
Of the whole trilogy, Kylo Ren was the only character I was remotely interested in

*Did u just say 'character development" in ep9? That is stupid. The whole movie is filled with new characters who get 5 min of screentime. Let's look at the main cast: Finn gets no development, he is just there. Poe gets no development unless you count backstory as development. Rey get's no development except now that she doesn't underestimate droids anymore. Kylo get's very rushed development. Just because he had to be a good guy again. C-3po gets no development because he's a droid. Same for bb-8. Where is that character development ur talking about?

That's the worst part, actually. I think The Last Jedi almost had something to say. It was muddled, but it was going somewhere. This movie really could have sealed the deal. But instead, we got this dumpster fire.

If you ask an average fan of the OT what their favorite character is in the OT, they’ll say Luke, Han, Leia, or even Darth Vader. Chewie is not a major character in the OT(a good character, certainly, just not major). ST Chewie is largely a downgrade yet somehow is better than the rest of the films. That should tell you about the quality of the Sequel Trilogy’s other characters.

What I didn’t like is that the emperor felt so... forced. It’s almost as if they added him in just to be “cool” and please fans. Think about it. The plot could’ve moved SO much faster if he wasn’t there. He really felt like he was crammed in the by the writers at the last minute because they “had to include him” in some way.
Emperor always felt forced to be honest. He did not even apeared in the New Hope and he was only there just to be that "big guy" that runs the whole show. Only in prequels he at least did something.
Dont get me wrong i love his character but holy shit when you think about it his whole character doesnt make any fucking sense what so ever and he's only there more to represent the ultimate evil rather than actually do something. most of the time he just sits there on various chairs now he even became GLADOS and doesnt do absolute shit, and the only time he actually does something it's only for a few minutes. I guess one time he actually did something meaningfull was when he came himself to destroy Maul and Savage in Clone Wars. that was honestly the ONLY scene where he actually did something himself instead of just sitting there on a chair too busy being "the emperor"
And why would Palpatine create a puppet (aka Snoke) for the people that followed him before to follow him again (generals and other imperials forces) when they could simply follow the real palpatine (or, let's say, maybe a clone of him who look a little less like shit, the same way Ezra Bridger was fooled with a handsomer version of the emperor)? It just makes no sense. And it isn't like the First Order had any facade to maintain, they were kidnapping children all the time.

When chewie ‘died’ I decided that it was an excellent, stunning, surprising movie. When he turned out to be alive, and the second half happened, I decided that I wanted to die.
For me, that moment, Han and Kylo's scene, and Luke lifting the X Wing where the best, the rest was just kind of okay.
I was so mad when i saw palpatine bc anakin/vader is my favorite character, but the fact that palpatine is alive throws the chosen one prophesy out the window

I was legitimately giggling every time palpatine spoke. I genuinely enjoy him in the scene. When he use the lightning on the sky and it just fucking bass boosted and he cackled and I just lost it.
Boundary Honestly, Palpatine was the best part of the movie. He got to show off the true power he was always meant to have with the sky lighting and life drain. It was all ruined when Rey deflected the lightning though. Seriously? A much more appropriate way to defeat him would be to absorb it like Yoda in RotS.
