"And then one day you'll find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun." One of the greatest lyrics (and life lessons) ever penned! We could all have benefitted from hearing and heeding this in our youth. Good reaction, sir!
Such a great lineb makes you think and come to realizations! I appreciate your kind words and support sir
and don't forget "the time is gone, the song is over-we've all got something more to say"
And so true.Old people know this too well, lol.I was a teenager when this came out.
Indeed but it’s more like 40 years , time sure does fly .
Yup, you’re young then you hit 50 and wonder where the time went ?
This song hits harder every year you are alive.
Most definitely!
That a couple of guys in their 20s wrote those lyrics shows wisdom beyond their years.
Every year is getting shorter. So true
Oh yeah!
@@larrybremer4930 well, late 20s.
You need to wear headphones or earbuds listening to Pink Floyd with the sound going back and forth from right to left ear
It's really cool because of they it was mixed it moves around in your head. Alan Parsons and the group made an amazing album.
You need to get a record player and play it as it should be played (on vinyl) , the way it was designed to be played , then you will truly hear the mastery of it.
Got my Sennheiser Momentum phones on whilst listening to this.
Yes, this is a definite headphones album, or great set of amped speakers right in front of you.
You should do "I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU" by Alan Parsons and "Take a Pebble" by ELP.
Grew up on Pink Floyd. This song hits much different now that I am shorter of breath and one day closer to death! 😮
We are all one day closer, BUT dont think of it like that, enjoy everyday, and make everyday count💙
Amen!
Yes yes
@@MDreeezy. What are you. A f&*$ing flower child?
I'm 70 now. Listened to music through the 60's to the 90's. This album and in part this song. No truer words were spoken.
The older you are the more meaning this song has.
I am in my early 50s and i understand you perfectly
Not the biggest floyd fan...but this song holds a special part in my heart❤
Wow, you're old Dude! i'm still a kid at 66.
I'm 65, sounds great.saw them in 1976👍
Headphones are a must listening to Floyd! You will really appreciate their music way better!
Not if you have the right system, and you are spinning vinyl
Pink Floyde, the greatest Band to ever play, write, compose, preform, record, or any other form of music. They are the Bach, Beethoven, Mozart of our time.
If they’re the greatest why did you add a “E” at the end of Pink Floyd?
cause im old stoned and have fat fingers@@terryquinn7765
Today its The Warning.
FYI. If you are listening to these top groups from the late 60's, 70's and 80's and are hearing the studio versions, you MUST listen to them on Headphones (as opposed to hearing them Live) That's because often there are many sounds played on the studio versions that are not replicated in Live shows. The switches from ear to ear... is amazing and sometimes astounding. It all adds to the music experience. Cheers.
👆🏿 That! 🎧🥰🐰
Absolutely true. Good on you
The separation in this song is incredible, but having a quiet night with it playing on the right system doesn't require headphones.
I agree 100% People are going to bug you to listen to the live versions. Listen to the studio versions first. You'll appreciate the live versions more.
Ideally, when you’re alone, the whole Album should be listened to from start to finish. As it is meant to be heard.
Lying down, eyes closed, headphones nice and loud. It’s only 42 minutes.
I’ve been listening to it since the day I bought my original Vinyl Album, which was the day it was released in 1973, aged 17.
And I’ll never tire of listening to it. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’. A stunning Masterpiece. Genius.
🎶❤️🎶
This. 💯
Don’t forget a joint
I believe that "Dark Side of the Moon" is best heard and understood in its entirety. Do yourself a favor and do that someday, okay? That aside, I am SO impressed with your reaction to this... your picking up of the lyrics so quickly really impressed me. Keep it up, young man. Bravo!
Thank you alot! That means alot to me!! I will definitely listen too the whole thing! And provide many more reactioms along the way
Smoke a big fat one, a cold beer, and some headphones..........thats how you do it...@@MDreeezy
I got to see Roger Waters perform this whole album in 05 I think. I'm a metal head but that was the best concert I've ever been to
Absolutely, it's a journey. Running thru space ship "airports" etc (my interpretation), and the rest, an absolute blast. The song Great gig in the sky is someone realising their pending death, horror, then acceptance, then fading away. The whole album is a work of art if listened to as a whole. Cheers to @staceysmith4868, the reaction was good, eh. We were spoilt in the 70's
Anyone saying 'Smoke a big one' before listening to Floyd... ignore them. Floyd is ALL you need.
John Lennon said, “life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans“.
Exactly!
And he was right
Life is like a toilet roll. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes.
Of course cus John Lennon as a jackass
The older you get, the more you appreciate the song
This album charted on the Billboard top 100 LP charts for 988 weeks. That's 19 years. For good reason. Best album every made.
Headphones help the whole Pink Floyd listening experience a lot.
That and a big fat doobie.
Pink Floyd was hands-down the best concert I have ever seen
Never had the chance to see them, but my brother has and he agrees with you.
Really impressed with how quickly you pick up on the essence of the lyrics, being a hippie from the 60's in England, keep it going man I love it
This was my thought too! You picked up on the metaphor of the long intro, and the first lyrics seemed to concretely frame it for you. Love that this still hits as hard as it always did for me.
this guy gets it, just so happy to see it. He has the mind to do great things...
Timeless. I've been listening to Floyd almost 50 years and am more in love with than ever! Thank you 4 bringing me back.
Glad some of you younger persons are looking into these bands
when that bass and vocals kick in.
Oh hon, you Really need to listen to Pink Floyd with headphones. Just about all of our old music actually. Technology may not be as sophisticated as today, but the music was mixed by masters and you'll really appreciate it more ❤
And may I add some very wise beyond your years observations of the lyrics. ❤
And no auto-tune!
If you take anything from this song, put the phone down and go live everyday to its fullest. Even then, you will regret things you didn't do.
I'm 64, and life has just sped by.
@@byrd1dog What's auto tune? This owner of an equalizer would like to know!
@carch7243 just look it up. Most people today need it because they aren't the same type of singers. They can't seem to keep their voices in tune, so they use electronics. To me, it's shameful. You can hear it so often. Many years ago, the tv star had people fooled into thinking he could actually sing. He couldn't. He needed auto tune
Happy exploration, young man. This song was released when I was a senior in HS. Pink Floyd is a part of my life.
Wow! You impressed me.
Just by the intro of the clocks and the FIRST lines you grasped the concept of the song.
Well done! Look forward to seeing more of your reactions and I'll probably send some your way with links of those I think you'll enjoy
You have good taste in music floyd and ren. My favourites. Great reaction. Very wise for a 20yo. Now listen to whole album by yourself with headphones. Will blow your mind!
That mean alot to me, thank you💙🤞🏽
The thing to remember about any of the tracks from this album, is that the album is really mean to be heard as a whole. Each fade into the next, and are in a specific order. The last bit of this one, thst doesn't sound the same as the rest, is actually a reprise of the first track, Breathe. At the end of the reprise, the reference to a church service is because the next track, The Great Gig in the Sky, is about death and the feelings it can evoke.
The album as a whole is about the pressures and problems faced by life in the modern world. Songs about the fleeting nature of life, death, the pull of domesticity, love of money, war, drugs, the rat race, and insanity.
I wish i had taken the advice of this song when i was 20. I spent my 20's partying, by the time i settled down around 30 it was like holy shit how am I 30? What happened to my 20's? Now im 43, Im doing well and I'm happy, but wondering what happened to my 30's. Life goes faster the older you get, so make it count!
I’m in my 60’s. Fasten you seat belt. The ride only gets faster. 😮
@daviddogsbody agreed. 60 here and yes time is moving faster.
It doesn't get better than Pink Floyd. I hope you keep listening because they're one of the greatest and most important bands that's ever been and they've influenced every genre of music. Anything from the albums Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Division Bell are going to be great. And the song Echoes, all 23 minutes of it, is an absolute masterpiece. You also can't go wrong with any song from the Pulse concert. Happy listening! 💗
Thabk you! I will definitely be checking out more!! Just getting started🖤
Need to go back and listen to them from the very early days (with Syd Barrett) to their more recent albums. All are amazing. Best. Band. Ever. 💕
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, by the best band that ever was. subbed.
Really, MDreeezy. It is amazing, that a young man of your age listens to these roots of modern day music and that you enjoy it as much, as we did in our youth. I am 51 now, GenX, child of the 80s and 90s, but however, we always listened a lot to the music of the 60s and 70s. Let me give you a short information on "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd. It was an album dedicated to their former band member Syd Barret, who put them on this experimental music train and regrettably lost his mind by too many drugs and even by mental illness. He was a music genius. He still appeard on their iconic concert film "Pink Floyd Live At Pompeji". So, I recommend this even to you, especially the long version of "Echoes".
Syd Barrett wasn't with Pink Floyd when 'Live at Pompeii' was filmed.
Some of us have enjoyed Pink Floyd for over 50 years. I hope you will as well. ...hopefully even longer.
At 67 yrs it still makes me jump 😊
Diggs deeper into my soul every "Time" I hear it! 58 and holding.......
The guitar solo in this song is one of my top 5 favorite solos of all time. Not flashy, not fast, fits this song perfectly and so soulful
the late 60’s /70’s was the best music ever so good on you for checking it out.
This song is timeless. Your reaction shows as much. Great music lasts forever.
At your age this song is a cautionary tale about waiting and life passing you by until you realise you missed the starting gun.
It changes as you get older to a wistful looking back at all the times you let life pass you by. Until you're looking at the next step. The great gig in the sky.
You genuinely must just listen to all of The Dark Side Of The Moon in one go to really get it.
Great reaction! Love that you get Pink Floyd, can’t get any better, they are the best ever
It's fun watching you experience this for the first time. Often when I listen to this album, I get myself in a state of mind like I've never heard it before, so I can fully experience it. For a lot of my young years, I felt like I was in pre life. When I get out of high school, when I finish college, when I get a job, when I get a better job. I didn't even realize I was actually living my life. I actually had a lot of fun.
The clocks and heartbeat were the beginning of a precious life whereas The tolling of the iron bell was the end of life. This song came out when I was 10 in 1973 I believe and I used to sing the lyrics all the time, but they hit harder and harder every year you hear this song as you begin to understand the older you get the faster the time goes by so sitting around at a young age is a waste of a young life. Kids today sitting home playing video games all day are lost generations! Your 20 soon you're going to look back and 20 years then 30 years will be behind you. They go quick now I'm 60 my daughters going to be 40 in a year and I'm still wondering WTH happened to the last 40 years of my life. Enjoy life man before you know it, you'll be my age wondering the same thing! Good job on the reaction!!
Good reaction. I've seen many react to this song, but few really delve into the lyrics and get it. Always nice to see when someone does.
Means alot thank you
Pink Floyd is it for full sonic experience. Headphones adds a whole new dimension to that experience. Highly suggest you use some for your next Floyd excursion should you decide to do so.
The message is live every day as if it's your last, with respect to those around you
Ow my goodness I'm 25 now rings a bell, the older you get the quicker time passes , One of thee best floyd choons.
What a perceptive young man! 5 or 50 years time is precious! This album could win a Grammy for engineering in 2024 and yet it is 50 years old. AMAZING!
This album, in its entirety, is a must listen.
Super impressed at 20 yrs old you get life. No matter who you are, if you want something you have to go out and make it happen. So many people (I’m no exception) have wasted so much time waiting for the right time to go after your dreams or whatever it is you want. Life is not linear like you think when in school. I’ll study this, then I’ll become that and I’ll get a job there. No, most people end up somewhere in life so differently than they imagined. Married, kids, not married, no kids, living halfway around the world cuz they met someone at some point and they wanted to be together. Time waits for no one. And time has a perfect winning record versus us mortals. Go after what you want and the sooner the better. Great reaction to one of my favorite songs from Pink Floyd.
Excellent reaction young blood.
Bought this album in 70's when it first got released & it never gets old, this track in particular is a favourite of mine & gets regular play.
Love seeing you discover this!
I’m an old grandma but have listed to this all my life!!
Keep going
It will expand your mind ✌🏼
An entire lifetime in a song.
Nice reaction, my young friend. You got everything one could get from this perfect piece of art, the beauty of music itself, the instrumental virtuosity and the message of course. As a 55-year old rocker and one who has been listening to this for 45 years and admiring it, I'm happy to see that younger generations are enjoying and understanding it. Thanks & cheers.
very insightful! just wait til you're looking back at 60+ years. and wondering where it all went LOL
!!!!!
My favourite LP of all my time 😊
I really enjoy the way you decipher the lyrics. Just a little history for you. I'm 71 years old and I saw Pink Floyd when the played The Locarno in Coventry in 1972. They played the whole Dark Side of the Moon album in surround sound for the first time. The original album title was called Eclipse. They later changed it. PS. Chuck Berry was on the same bill. What a night.👍
Great review!
Great Gig In The Sky is also on that album. It depicts the stages one goes through as they are aware they are about to die. It brings some people to tears, and it has no words, but amazing vocals. Listen to the album version first, then read up on how it was recorded. It's a great story on how artists who are let loose to create, can come up with something everlasting that moves the human soul. Cheers.
Fantastic review 👏👏👏I bought this album back in the 70s and still listening to it ☮️😎
Haha rock on🖤🤞🏽 definitely a great album! Going to get into more
Watching from Ireland
This is why this album is called a classic....it speaks across the generations.
Pink Floyd, takes you on a trip
Most of the music from the 70’s & 80’s have a message or a lesson. These are songs that I grew up with but as I get older and listen to reactions I realize that when I was 16-17-18 I wasn’t paying much attention to these messages, I just liked the music. Don’t let that happen to you
You are right! Theres a message in everything and its important to pay attention!
Thanks for reminding me
The whole album is birth with the opening heartbeat to the last heartbeat on the last song. I saw that in a comment and never really knew what the concept was on this album until then. The first song starts with a heartbeat and then you have the middle part of life chasing money and then the last song is about death.
You owe it to yourself to keep going down this rabbit hole ❤ I was a teen when the Wall came out, best thing to grow up on!
FYI, their name is in homage to two old black blues musicians from North Carolina, PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. At first they were know as; "The Pink Floyd Sound", later they shortened it to just "Pink Floyd".
The whole album? Stellar.
You, sir, are a smart young man!
You need to get the whole album and listen to it, all alone, just you. Not stopping it, just absorbing it.
Haha i think my dad has it. Ill have to grab it from him

Great reaction! You need to listen to the whole album from beginning to end to really appreciate every single song and the message.
Alarm bells are birth. The song is over, thought I’d something more to say is death. Home again is the afterlife. Hear the softly spoken magic spell is prayer at a funeral. My interpretation anyway. I grew up listening to this song and it means more every year.
"Birth" was covered by _Breathe,_ on this album. The alarm bells are a wakeup call for a younger Waters to himself warning about not wasting his time in the world.
It's fun watching the young folks listening to great music.
Great reaction buddy , this is my fav Pink Floyd album. When i was younger to get some quiet time, i went to the library , and sat there an listen to this amazing album.3-4 times in a row.
Dark Side Of The Moon is the album that first turned-me-on to music. It was also the first album (vinyl) that I’d ever bought. It’s amazing how that discovery helped to shape future events in my life.
From the little acorn grows the mighty oak.
Yep this one will get ya!
Love when you react to these types of songs it brings back memories thank you ❤❤❤
I first bought this album way back when I was about 2 years older than you are now, good to see youngens enjoying the music of my youth, keep on the checking more of the great music of the 50s 60s 70s & 80s you can't go wrong 😊
Take the time to listen to the whole album with headphones uninterrupted. It's only 45 minutes.
The first time I did that I was 15yrs old in 1978. I still remember what it meant to me then. I listen to it every couple of years. The feelings about the songs change in very profound ways. I'm 61 now.
Be well. Be happy.
Cheers!
Thank you for reacting to one of the songs on my favorite album.
Love watching you discover this classic! And no music is "before your time" all music is for all time! That's the beauty and my envy of the younger generation, there are literal decades for you to discover from where you sit today!
I'll suggest some led zeppelin, either Since I've Been Loving You or The Song Remains the Same
and the heart beat
Beautiful song ❤
You show wisdom and understanding beyond your years! Great reaction!!
Great reaction and wise perspectives. Thanks 😊
Yessir 🔥
You nailed what the song is all about. Good job!
You got the meaning perfect... I listened to the whole album over and over... when Pink Floyd first came out... the liver performance was amazing
This is my music😤
Love it
Great reaction! I loved it. You immediately got the message of the song from basically the intro without even any lyrics.
I appreciate that!
10 years have got behind you
Nailed it my brother ✌️😎
I first heard this song when I was 15. Now that I’m in my 40’s it has a whole new meaning.
This youth hears pity most don't! 👍
MDreeezy You are a brilliant interpreter of song lyrics
The music of my youth. Immortal.
I watch a lot of reaction videos and feel like i'm sitting down with new young friends to turn them on to the music i grew up with. But you actually are one of the best LISTENERS out there-- you actually hear what's being presented, and fully get it!
When listening to Pink Floyd, you have to use headset. It's a must!
This was good haven’t listened to this song in years or anything from Pink Floyd
Honestly!
Just subbed after the reaction.I love watching the younger generations listening to what i grew up to.I saw them in 1988 there were mesmorizing to say the least.Something live from the is a must. Also Queen Bohemian Rhapsody official video if you havent seen it❤
One of the most influential albums of my teen years. I graduated high school in 1976....Floyd and Aerosmith were everything to me lol
My son is a phenomenal guitarist and he said to once years ago something along the lines of. These guys are pretty good but I can play all of this stuff. Which was very true he could play it perfectly. I said back to him yeah i know and thats cool and all, now when you have written a song and 40 years later kids are bragging that they can play your song, get back to me
Listening to Floyd one is required to use headphones.Remarkable!
For the love of all that is good, please don't do any more music reactions without headphones. Especially performers like Pink Floyd. Laptop or most computer speakers are utterly inadequate. But keep going, you are getting it.
