I think it's wild how very detached a lot of the TF2 community can be as soon as a creator wants to try something else. I'd get pretty fatigued too if the only game I ever played was a 16 year old FPS game with little to no improvements or focus from Valve on its quality.
Though to be honest, just as much as the youtuber can loose interest, so can viewers have no interest. Some are in it for the personality, some for the content, and those in for the content will either move away from the content creator or bitch about the change. And no matter what really that's gonna be a thing be it TF2, other games, or even outside of gaming related content.

Muselk is now a Fortnite addict and as someone who used to watch his TF2 videos since 2016, that is disgraceful to me. There are worse Fortnite addicts than muselk like Alia A and Lachlan who do nothing in their lives but play Fortnite and that’s just sad considering the fact that the game is dead.

Since the editing vid in 2021 before his halloween unboxing actually taught me how to edit myself which has inspired me to make my own channel and make videos myself when I eventually get a setup. Mad respect to soundsmith and thank god Uncle Dane hasn’t quit yet.

Muselk was really just a sellout who tried to follow the money and abandoned us all for "greener" pastures. The whole Meet Your Match controversy back in the day was just an excuse to harp on TF2 to go over to Overwatch; think he even got a gift basket from Blizzard for that one. Then of course once that well dried up, abandoned it just as fast for Fortnite. Sure as hell feels like going back to his older videos feeling like that persona he put on really was just a mask, or if I'm wrong, winded up becoming a mask on some point in the quest for more revenue.
True that about Muselk. It can't be guaranteed wether he really was in it just for the views and money, but sure does feel like it now that he's just another generic, family friendly, clickbaity, trend chasing youtuber that appeals to kids first and foremost.
The thing about a video game is that your life doesn’t have to revolve around it. You would usually play video games to have fun. If you’re not having fun anymore, you’re allowed to walk away just like that. The best thing for any game that you want people to continue to play is to be secure in its replay ability. Make it a wholesome, friendly place that anyone can come and go stress free.

Soundsmith has been on a decline for awhile. Most of his audience during his hay-day were kids, but like everyone, kids grow up and search for different content that isn't just watching a guy goof around with friends on a 2fort server. His core audience has either outgrown his content, or disillusioned that Soundsmith has expressed bitter distaste towards his old content, but chooses to still be an active member within the community.
I mean, at the same time, adding a seal to tf2 broke a massive and meaningful record for any game. So there’s absolutely no need to really update tf2 or make a tf3. That, and all the gambling and micros.
I hate the argument that muselk left tf2 because of no new things. It works for some people, but all of his videos where mostly supplied with interaction. On multible gamenodes like zombies. And you can hate someone for selling out.
It really was just the dollar figures by the end of the day. He wanted money and was going to do anything he can to shill to a "bigger" audience where more of it may come from.

But i don't think this is really a good game to most of the content creator want to growths up. I think this more a casual game/off stream for the most of the streamer.
