Rosemary still in great voice here. Watching this I do reflect on what might have been if Judy Garland hadn’t died when she did: Still singing in her 60s (at the time of this recorded concert) and maybe beyond.
such a pleasure to watch a great artist evolve. they solves new challenges as their body goes through the normal changes of life, and what matters to them changes. i saw her in concert live 5 times at this phase of her life, and she was still growing and evolving. she was the best
That performance is from "The 50's: Moments to Remember", which first ever aired as part of PBS' Festival Nights(March 1981 Pledge Campaign) for PBS stations including my local station: KPBS San Diego, Circa Saturday March 21st, 1981!! Expect the Unexpected!! Public TV Remembers.
Thank you so much for sharing this Buzz. I’m moved beyond words. Sublime, simply sublime. ‘Tenderly’ has a particularly special place in my heart and Rosie’s performance here is spell-binding. Thank you 🙏🏼
La musica "viva" "pasional" y "hermosa" (alegre o melancolica, que mas da) y los grandes cantantes que la interpretan son VIDA: una inyeccion de VIDA!!! Gracias mr. Buzz!!!!!!! A ver si es entendible mi ingles argentino: how about Judy Garland's 100 birthday...?! thank you, jajaja
Impossible to remix, but I wish the soundman had boosted Rosemary a bit more above the band and piano player; she was a tad overwhelmed. Realizing it may have been to compensate the higher notes, which we all lose in time (sigh).
There will never be anyone like Rosemary again
Her phrasing put her head and shoulders above the rest. Just terrific.
This was a fun look back. Rosemary ALWAYS had the best big band arrangements and a very charming stage presence.
she like friend that sits on your sofa just singing just to you
NO ONE CAN TOUCH "Tenderly" as Rosemary! To me it is her greatest song!
"Totally Agree" but can I add as a very close second The Secret Of Life. 🇬🇧

This segment is from a great PBS special also featuring Teresa Brewer, Frankie Laine, Patti Page and many more.
Rosemary had a better upbringing, and despite personal problems, was a more disciplined performer which enabled her to survive.
@@johnpickford4222 Rosie got into recovery, that's why she survived.
