This is the official RUclips channel of World of Jazz.
She was magnificent! Hit every note dead on. Just the right amount of whiskey and smoke in her glorious voice. Thank you.
In my opinion the best female singer of the American Songbook ever. Anyway, she is my favorite. What a great concert in my homecountry.
ROSEMARY CLOONEY
THE UNDISPUTED ROSEMARY CLOONEY
WHO BUILD AND SHAPE THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES !!!
Miss Clooney is the best
Just watched White Christmas and I wanted to hear more of Rosemary Clooney. Her voice still sounds so fabulous--it has that easy, relaxed elegance with deceptive precision, which would make anybody think they can sing.
This is beyond first-rate! Just remarkable. Excellent audio and picture quality too considering the age of the video
My hero and mentor-not in person, but my vocal coach made me listen to several Rosemary Clooney albums in order to understand phrasing, timing, and projection. Invaluable lessons; she is still my favorite vocalist. She is sheer perfection & I love every song I hear her sing. This video makes my heart so happy.
What a career this lady had. Sang with the Big Bands way back and then had her hits in the 50s and on....Thanks for sharing this smooth, smooth concert.....
SIMPLY GREAT HEARD CLASSIC FAMOUS SONGS PERFORMED BY THIS EXCELLENT JAZZ BAND AND THE UNFORGETABLE ROSEMARY COONEY
Perfect!
Every one here is a star. Big New England presence.
Wonderful!
I miss the good olds days
What a fine group. Concord really made some marvelous recordings.
Excellent
... Perfect!
Sensacional! Obrigado por postar. Privilégio assistir a um show desses!
Although Rosemary did not age well, her voice remained vibrant. I'll always be a fan.
Very good jazz !!!!!
This is the first concert that was recorded that evening of the 10th of July, at 19.00 hr. The second concert which is also on World of Jazz was recorded later that same evening at 20.45. You may have noticed it is slightly different...
In fact, in this version you can listen to Swingin' on a star, that in the second version is cut by an interview. Glad to listen the song complitely here :)
these are some first-rate musicians! including that "pop" singer. perfect timing, phrasing. LOVE this
I really had fun watching this video, I hope that other people are just as entertained when they watch one of my own video's.
Ottimo gruppo jazz e la grande voce di Rosemary tra le più belle voci della musica jazzzì
I never thought much of her music until I heard her live in a small concert like this one at the Epcot Center around the late 80's. That lady could swing and her voice was really rich.
This group here had a real problem with tempo. They couldn't hold a steady beat on the up tunes. Bass player kept picking it up. At least it seems like that to my ears.
48:55 "The North Pole/Sea? I have charted..." In the 2nd concert she changes it to "I dig the fourth dimension, but I get no attention from you." I wonder what the story was there.
Warren Vaché is a legend 🎶🎺🎶❤️, where was the sound engineer? Or didn’t he use any microphones in the hall itself and tapped directly from the individual mics?
The best!!!
Un bijou.👍
I would love to have that band
CAL - MY PAL = The Cincy Kid . Got almost all of his. Too underacknowledged by 2024 ! Nevuhhh made a louzy rec, nor session.
Bass is way too loud in the mix. Otherwise very spirited playing.
Stupendo. Peccato per quel basso che a volte copre perfino i sax.
I'm sure you know that track #1 on both sets is 'Stompin' At The Savoy'.
No, it isn't! It's How Come You Do a Thing Like that to Me! If you want to hear another version of this, try Erroll Garner's from 'Concert by the Sea'
Apologies. You are correct. I took the word of an 85 year old man, who maybe is getting muddled.
@@RubberLegs666 I am sorry but I am an 83 year old man, and I simply don't take this an excuse, unless of course I am kidding myself!
@@kennethhodges3187 Not all 85 year old men's hearing works so well now and aren't as sharp as you Kenneth😀 Anyway, a lot can happen in 2 years 😉
Here's a question for you, having seen both of these concerts which do you think is the better of the two. The first or the second?
Il sax più giovane coi baffetti lo conosco, non ricordo il nome.....
7:40
Scotty's sweet, tasty and silky smooth .... as usual
Agreed. Too bad they didn't mic him well. Oh well.
?????...the same concert you uploaded last week...what a pity!!!
I totally agree. It's a shame. There are so many great concerts not yet uploaded.
oh, you have to look and hear carefully! this is n o t the same concert!!!!!
thanks "world of jazz" to upload both concerts of rosemary clooney to your wonderful channel!

marcel
See our answer above
Right. Shame on me.
Unfortunately we don't have Billy Eckstine's performance at this moment. We are however finding new tapes regularly. Maybe we will find it in the future.
