5 things I love about Nancy Wilson
    1. her voice
    2. her walk with swag

I am choked up, I just read that the wonderful Nancy Wilson died yesterday Dec. 13, 2018 at 81 years of age after a long illness. I played her "Guess who I Saw Today" , on the cassette in my 94 Nissan [which was just stolen by NYPD tow pound] so often it was like nectar. It is as though I lost both dear friends this year.

Hi Eric, My mom loved Nancy Wilson also, she passed May 17, 2011, My dad died , April 17, 1971, many years ago. I'm an only child, with no kids, either, I'm 54, he was much older than my mom, even tho, he looked younger. Just like you mentioned, making her happy watching this. I'm looking at my mom and dad's picture, wishing, my mom was here watching this with me, she would have loved all of this. RUclips is the s--t. I'm enjoying it I love this kind of jazz, because of her. I'm enjoying it, but not the same as I would if she was here. I was with my mom, most of my life, minus the last 10 yrs of hers. My whole life is changed. Sometimes, I feel strange in this world without her. My family hasn't been supportive at all, with the exception of one. If she were alive, she would be 78, this year. Enjoy your mom, it's a sad world without them, we were, like sisters, when you saw her, you saw me. Hug your mom, as much as you can. God bless, U, 7 your mom! Peace! I'll continue, remembering my mom watching this.

+Eric Fortner I'm 64 years old, and I have been listening to Nancy since I was 17 years old. At that time, young people were listening to The Rolling Stones and other rock singers, but I was the odd one. I only wanted to listen to people who could really sing, and Nancy Wilson was and is still one of my all time favorites.

I grew up in St. Louis, with its vibrant jazz scene, and was aware of Nancy Wilson even before she recorded her first Capitol album. There was no mistaking a great star was on the horizon, and when that first album came out she took a rocket ship ride to the top. Among musicians she was known as one of the most knowledgeable and focused artists around. Each new album revealed a steadily evolving talent and Nancy quickly ascended to the top. She was a perfectionist, which made her even more attractive to the greatest instrumentalists.

You knew about Nancy before Swingin's Mutual in 1961? Wow, I thought I was her oldest living fan. I didn't know about her until about 1971, but I managed to collect all of her albums over the years. That first one was a little difficult to find, but I finally got it and completed my collection. I'm sure you can imagine my heartbreak when my collection was stolen.

What emotion she can evoke in us, we can feel what she is singing and her mood, right along with her and that's exactly what makes a perfect performer! I love Nancy Wilson's voice and stage presence. I'm also noticing her nails. People talk about Barbra Streisand's nails (love her voice and her nails too), but in noticing Nancy kept her nails a certain way too. ❤
