- Lots of people have been asking to see more Momma Cornstar, so she starts this video off right away with home made bread that she made. We all love Mom's home made bread.
After we visit Mom, we jump back to the farm where we needed to get the semis and the Oliver 1950 warmed up. We checked fluids and oils and added the needed substances. We started unloading a semi after that and topped off vehicles with diesel fuel.
Once we got to the combines in the field, we checked over the machines, checked the moisture of the soybeans, and then started combining. We have a lot of things to learn about this farm because it is new to all of us. Presley took this advice with a grain of salt and got the 2017 John Deere S680 stuck and Dalton also got our 1991 Case IH 7140 pulling a 2019 Brent V700 grain cart stuck as well.
Cooper ended up blowing a hydraulic line on our 2001 Case IH 2388 and Presley finished up on the field we were on. We convoyed down the road to our next bean field. Daddy Cornstar took off to get parts and gives some words of wisdom on the way there. We combined the last of this soybean field and ran into minor issues until Presley got the John Deere S680 stuck.
Presley crossed a waterway in a wet area with a trench through the middle and the combine simply got hung up and would not move. It took a 1982 Massey Ferguson 4840 4WD to pull it out along with a 2014 New Holland T8. The combine did not have any damage. It was late in the morning when the combine finally got pulled out so we decided to call it a night.

In all honesty, this was one of the best episodes ever. Real-life, real farming, real problems, real solutions.
Sebastian Dubois Thank you!
Gotta Agree COLE. That was one of the best episodes in recent time. Nice work on the editing Sister Summer!! Glad you were able to get a few scenes in there where COLE wasn't sleeping in a tractor, somewhere. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
These modern day pampered farmers do not know what a hard day's work is.
I think the episodes with Neve and cole are the bast.
Farm is NOT always problem free.. that’s part of farm life you have to face.. keep up post as I enjoy watching thanks!
I know the combine getting stuck was a pain but it made for a really interesting video...
G Flanders that's what I thought 😇
You have to be a real dumb son of a bitch to get it stuck like that.
Really, was that necessary?
@@jeffmeacham6164 it looked dry on top. You obviously haven't been on some of the soils that we farm, you can be driving along where it looks dry on top and step the clutch down and the tractor is up to the frame without even spinning a wheel. The variability comes from what the glaciers left behind with sand pockets.
@@dedrakuhn6103 Maybe you ought to stay in the kitchen.
Thank God that combine got out undamaged being stuck that deep. Never can have enough help in times of struggle.
I remember that 50 degree day. I was wearing my shorts and mowing the lawn. What a difference a day makes! thanks Cole and Family.
I’m glad you got unstuck without damage or injuries, prayers 🙏 for a blessed harvest!
Call you seem to have a wonderful family your cousins and all are very supportive And I think I could smell that wonderful bread all the way here in North Carolina It's nice to see no one points fingers they just all jump in and help each other that's a wonderful attitude family help and family It's wonderful to see people like you enjoy hard work here are rare commodity in this now a days people Thanks cole for been you
Great video that brings back many memories. Many years ago, we ran five combines in the Texas blacklands and farmed around 5,000 acres. The old saying is that if you stick with blackland when it's dry, it will stick to you when it's wet.
We had two identical 7720s, a 6600 and two 4400s. We never took the headers off to move from Field to field. We could move in and out of those little farms and never miss a beat.
One of the 7720s had rear wheel drive hydraulic assist. It would go through wet ground that stopped the two wheel drive. We put huge rice tires on the two wheel drive 7720 and it made an amazing difference. If we were not careful, we could spin the rims inside the tires and end up with a flat in boggy ground. I finally drilled studs one foot apart though the edge of the rims and into the tires and that made them bullet proof.
Over time, we learned to never combine wet ground with any more than 1/3 of a hopper. Continuously dumping is a hell of a lot better than getting stuck. We did not have trouble with milo and corn during the summer. Our trouble was harvesting hard red winter wheat during wet springs.
Anyway, like Bob Hope, sang, "Thanks For The Memories".

Good advice!

If only my 21year old grandson worked as hard.
As a grandmother GET MORE SLEEP,it does catch up with you.
I've spent alot of time watching you, didn't realize the among of time and hard work.
Thank you Farmers.
Good job getting that giant combine out without destroying anything. As deep as it was stuck at looked like a 2 tractor pull!
Mr Cornstar Sr, I thought I would never get old. Till I got old. I get it. 58 years old going on 108 it feels. God bless ya man. Let the young Cornstar do the dirty work. He's young.
I hear that G S !!
"Cheaper after midnight " LOL!🤔
Dats Tuff!
I'm not sure that I understand
I love our farmers. You are such hard workers to provide food for us. Thank you for all your do!
Yep, one good video. Sure glad you got the JD out ok.
Thanks Summer!
All 10 of them men put together created a boatload of knowledge from experience that in turn got the equiptment safely unstuck, undamaged. Good Job. 👍
Seeing that combine buried brought back some memories of my good ole days. Thanks Cole!
Wow what a hole! Love your whole families attitude Cole. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Yea Momma Cornstar Chilli! Looks yummy with the bread.
Laurie Eymer we all love soup 🍜!
Cornbread goes very well with chili. 😊🤤
Apparently in Kansas people eat cinnamon rolls with chili ( not dipped in, just together)... I’m from Kansas and I don’t do this but I’ve always thought it was interesting
Mary Lou - wouldn’t that be corn star bread 😂
Mary Lou we do that too!
Thanks so much for sharing your farming life!
Listen Daddy Cornstar, it's your turn and enjoy them working like you did, running around is harder then you'd noticed. Won't be long and you'll have a daily route, stop by the feed store join the Old Men for coffee
So all old farmers meet at coffee shops!? Lol my uncle will be upset all day if he doesn't get his gossip in.
No they meet at cases for pizza
FS Plant 3:00 pm.
No, they feed the cows, then meet for a couple games of Rook! Gossip all around! Lol
Terri Ann Bluejacket Dad doesn't drink coffee 😉
Farming.....just an excuse to play in the mud with our toys!
Yes yes yes it’s so much fun!
at 2am ...
They must have money to burn just to fuck around burning fuel and getting nothing done.
Lol
Just started watching cornstar today, and I'm officially binge watching. Love this channel.
Thanks for sharing the good, bad, and ugly 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Classic Clint !
Wow, rough day. Any of us that have farmed have had those days! Impressive job sticking that machine....good thing you have that tow rope that looks like you swiped it from an ocean liner. And that chili & homemade bread looked great Momma C! I loved the high speed segment of Cole in the grain cart back & forth to & from the field. Great video, as usual.
Cole, worried about all of you. Checked your weather and it said 15 degrees. Hard working in cold frigid weather. You all stay warm and safe. God bless you!
O my there is nothing better than hot home made bread .just hearing that makes my mouth water warm bread and stick of butter you cant beat that !!!!
Wow that was quite the rut, the young cousin seems quite friendly 👍😉
WOW, that was intense getting that huge piece of machinery pulled out of the mud. I can’t believe you guys work so late I guess it’s true a farmers job is never done.
It beats watching TV.
Being a team with your workers is the best way to get things done. I was the manager who was wiping the grease off my hands on the way to a meeting...
I like how you take time out of your busy day to explain the fields and equipment and still have a little bit of fun. Daddy cornstar 😂
Absolutely one of your best videos yet - perfect explanations, great visuals, and not lacking for content, humor, and excitement in the snake grass. Great job there Cole and fellow Cornstars. All 10 of ya! And we love watching what tractors are designed to do - versatility!
Having an extra tractor and 10 people at 2am to pull a combine out of some muck is "kinda handy to have"!
Guys, it's a nice team work! My husband even didn't want to leave for the work until the end of this video:)
Looked like a city construction job. 9 guys watching and 1 guy working.
slackers
About right!
I would say that's just a guy thing and there's nothing wrong with that . You wouldn't be a real man if you didn't get out there and offer to help out in some way . I grew up seeing that kind of thing all of my life . Sometimes us women even pitch in to help if we have to and there's nothing wrong with that either . God bless them all for being real hard working men . 🌽😘
agreed. its in all of us...being slackers! just different ways of showing it
@@ColeTheCornstar and let's not forget the guy sleeping in the tractor, just cuz his grain cart was full. 😋😋
Cole you and all your family and friend farmers are so cool and calm in situations that are not the most fun. All you 10 guys Rock!
Daddy cornstar the man the myth the legend
The gofer. LOL.
The man, the myth, the Felon... ;)
What does “real cheap after midnight” mean?
@@jenaemarieAZ grand theft combine. LOL
JenaeMarie means it don’t cost nuthin to steal something when it’s stolen, preferably when everyone’s asleep and off work. Which is after midnight
You are always so cheerful Cole. Makes the job easier when you have a great disposition.
Great new video Cole, I guess I’m not the only one getting stuck in a combine this harvest season!
I like the way that spout moves back into place after moving the corn or beans. So kool.
Love when daddy cornstar always includes the gals. Enjoyed the video
Recipe is probably in her memory.
Wendy Miller one of the few things I make by the dump method 😂 but I can write something down 😊
@@mommacs6159 I love recipes using the "dump method"...not a pretty name for a technique that saves the day for tired, hungry people everywhere
You guys are great. Thanks for sharing Cole - another great video.
I think momma and daddy cornstar needed to have about four more boys! Work work work! It’s never ending.
Cole you better slow down driving the tractor!
Bob P we shoulda started sooner on that 😂
I will keep saying it; farming is a hard to low payed job. The cost are crazy incompairing to other jobs. And that for people that produce for others, work long days and do dangerous work ( all these machine are no joke). Respect for you guys, who ever and where ever you are in the world.
Thats the truth and fact.
Happy Remembrance day thank to all who have sacrificed or served for our freedoms 🌺🇺🇸🍁👍 thank you to all farmers 👍
Great video. Glad yall got that combine out with out damage I hope.
All the challenges of 2019 this will go in the books for most farmers. Thanks for sharing the videos hope you have an awesome evening.

@@autheranderson3090 nope he is so busy he comments on every good RUclips channel hoping to be mentioned hahaha amazing he has the time hahahab
justin whitley yea I mean that farming 100 acres must keep him busy. It takes us less then a day to go over that many acres.
Auther Anderson i don’t think anybody asked you
@@autheranderson3090 hahahaha
I do not know why I like you but you do a real nice job on your videos. We had snow today and there is still a lot of beans and corn in the fields here. I hope that you get everything in on time.
You should do interviews with all your help so we can hear from them what they do and where they're from
Glad that pull worked out for you. Grandpa dropped a tire in a big ditch years ago and we had to have a crane come out. Not a word was said to Grandpa he felt pretty bad. I use that memory in hard times.
💥 Enjoyed that one Cole. Thanks for a great video! Now that we’ve seen a combine get stuck and enjoyed the footage don’t feel like you need to repeat it.
Keep on tractoring!
Wow, this city girl is impressed! This glimpse of just another day on the farm feeding America was fascinating to watch. Cole, you are an amazing narrator ... you too Daddy Cornstar. Love you both. And Mama Cornstar, I love chili! Maybe you can share your recipe some time? ... Kudos to a great vid. You all work so hard.
Daddy Cornstar, when you said that combine gets real cheap after midnight, it cracked me up! I said boi shut your mouth! I love you guys way down here in south Louisiana!
Mama cornstar is making me hungry! Shout out to the cornstar family.
It’s been super wet here in eastern Iowa as well. My last video got snowed out before we could get into the field.
@die warlock oh about thirteen thousand other people disagree with you. Including me.
die warlock are you okay? You seem very hurt about something and I hope you find peace.
@die warlock Well nobody twisted your arm to watch.
I agree with many of the other commentors below. This was the best video yet. Really awesome to see the combines and tractors working out in the fields.
Cole , I love your patience and confidence . My stepdad use to say ...... the main thing is don't never fret ...!! 😉 I was wondering if you could listen to the radio while driving the combine . I'd love that and just think about life . There's nothing wrong with that my friend . You all do a great job that includes moma corn star too . Thanks for sharing another fun video !! Love it !! 🌽🌽🌽🌽😘
This is my first time viewing an actual farm at work. It's amazing. I now have so much more respect for you guys.Thank God there are still independent farmers out there. We eat thanks to all of your hard work. God loves ya , Bro. Keep the videos coming. I'm learning so much. And thank you for feeding America and the World
That bread looks awfully good, That Chili too. I'll take some. Keep up the great Videos, Cole and Family, I love them!
New appreciation for farmers, you all are rock stars...
This was interesting, I was holding my breath hoping that nothing would break...whew! Great video!
IIRC Presley and Dalton are part of Cooper's crew. Great guys.
Cole Edward Cornstar... Super-Duper Great Presentation, I once had my JD "B" stuck that bad, that was awhile ago and no "monster" tractors to the rescue ….but the tractor the neighbor had was big enough. Love your video's and the sound of diesels doing field work...yea....nose to the grind stone--full speed ahead. and yea... great beginning with Momma Cornstar and her home made bread...yum...
I like your attitude. At 19:27 you were talking about all the problems and broken stuff then smile and say:
"Ya. We're all havin' fun."
It’s nice to see that you guys don’t lose your heads went something unexpected happens. Taker nice at slow that way your chances of brining something minimizes and no one gets hurt👌🏻. And btw, the way daddy corn star was talking..... he might be on the next episode of America’s most wanted 😂
Lol
I think most guys who work any kind of blue collar job (farming included) just expect thinks to go wrong and don’t freak out when they do
Grand-daddy Cornstar is lucky that his son and grandsons wanted to continue farming after he was gone. Not that he would know that, but at least the family is continuing the legacy.
Loved the time-lapse
Never a boring moment!
That's a hard days work right their. Good job guys.
Your old man is hysterical. Great channel
If you “liberate” that new combine daddy Cornstar I will provide you an alibi. We were out drinking beers in KC!
Great job cornstar family. I enjoy the videos immensely. Big thumbs up. My dad was the decision maker at home whatever the problem was he always had the right solution.
Just remember, Daddy Cornstar, about midnight shopping---everything is expensive in jail :p
This was an anxious one. I remember the days when things would get stuck on the farm. They are trying times…. But you have the equipment and people needed to solve the problem..
the farmers round here have tons of fields to do yet... we got 4 inches of snow today...
I don't know how I came across your videos Cole but I just love watching you and the family, I've been binge watching while socially isolating. It's been a feel good distraction and you and Nave are so cute. Thanks for making me smile
23:51 Daddy Cornstar, did you ever hear the one about the old bull and the young bull standing at the top of a hill? 😁 To keep things family friendly, I'll let those interested look it up.
Had an uncle in South Georgia that farmed close to a thousand acres when I was a kid
These vids put his life in perspective
Everyone says he was a great farmer but a lousy business man.
I sure do miss him and the farm
Thank you jimmy carter for that
Those cheap combines after midnight reminds me of that camel rental place.
I know it was a mess and lots of work by all of you, but you guys looked like you were enjoying the challenge. I enjoyed watching!
Daddy cornstar might want to cut the coffee back. I see some going crazy in his eyes lol
Noel Hohberger he doesn't drink it!
I feel ya Cole, I have been in that struggle too. You have a great bunch over there. Love watching you all.
Do you ever listen to podcasts or audio books while you work? I feel like that would be a good way to help pass the time when you’re the grain cart guy or something. Plus you get to learn new things
Hannah Cheg I should but I don't
Nice to see that 3 inch line being used instead of chain. Nice recovery!
Momma cornstar, awesome but missing sister cornstar. Farming is a family affair so they should all be in here with you and Daddy.
homie789 sis does the editing... she forgot to add herself 😜
Farm life is very busy people don’t realize. Good job CORN STAR.
Great work ethic, if only more 20 somethings could work as hard as you guys.
Amen to that ...!!! You don't see that very often anymore . Their parents must be very proud of them.
I see plenty on RUclips and they’re all farmers, all American farmers! God bless all the farm family’s
These bastards don't have a clue as to what a hard day's work is. They are too pampered.
I worked seasonally with my brother and his father in law. for a couple falls, and one spring. I think they may have had that same combine. They've since upgraded to a lexion which is sweet!
Your maintenance schedule just made me so nostalgic you have no idea. Loved that job

On the coolant loss - try not filling everything so often
Most old systems don’t have an overflow tank to catch coolant as it warms and expands
