You ask why the videos are interesting. There are very few farms left in the US. Most people live in the city. We don't see where our food comes from and we don't have to work for our food. Yes, we go to work and get paid and buy food. We don't grow food like your farm does. This makes the everyday life you live very different from the rest of us. We also don't get to see a farm that was created many generations ago either. Next, the about of stuff you have clear off your farm is amazing. The transformation looks great. In conclusion, keeping telling people about God. I know your words have helped me remember how much he loves each and everyone of us. Your farm is proof that God has blessed your family for many generations.
Cole, you asked why semi's have large steering wheels? As an old retired trucker, the answer is so it doesn't take as many revolutions to maneuver or to turn.
Little late and I'm sure at least 150 comments answered this, but the wheels on semis are so big to give you a little more torque. Wasn't that long ago they didn't have power steering. Also, keep up the videos! I'm almost caught up but started from about 2 months ago, went back to the start and catching up from there

Idk how much or if it would be a problem with your setup but my family is friends with a custom harvester crew owner and they run a 4840 on a Kinze 1100 grain cart I think the size is and I noticed one day they ran a piece of steel under the drawbar connected to the bottom 3 pt arms as support for it and thought that’s not a bad idea. They custom harvest our wheat for us

PAfarmboy we have been fortunate enough to have had very little flooding. The cricks rode out of the banks 100 feet away from them - it went down pretty quickly. Roads are sloppy though.
Duals would make a large improvement on those combines. Large floaty diamond tires for the steers are a large improvement on a 2wd tractor. Put them on a ford TW-35. Could damn near go anywhere my FWA TW could.

How old were you when you started driving all of these trucks and farm equipment? Man, just the greasing of the trucks looks like an all day thing.
Not sure if someone already said it, if so, I apologize. If you've ever driven an old semi with no power steering. You'll have a perfect understanding of why they're so large. I'm not really sure why they kept the same sized wheel after power steering was invented.
@@ColeTheCornstar the bigger steering wheel just makes it easier to turn when there is no power steering. Same concept of when you put a breaker barn on a wrench or something when you have a stubborn bolt or nut. Ive got a couple old school classic rigs with big steering wheels and no power steering. Thats why they called is strong arm steering if you've ever heard that term before.
Do you ever listen to audio books? I would think during harvest it would be a great time to listen to some. Maybe start with a book like Beneath a Scarlet Sky. It is a wonderful WWII true story.
Man drove a combine to the edge of a river..looking for a place to cross. As he drove across the combine sunk completely. Owner came by to pull the man out..he asked why did he choose this location to cross at..He said he noticed a dog crossed with 4 inch legs and he knew he could make it.
The big steering wheels were needed on the older trucks without power steering. The older trucks all had them even if they had power steering. The newer ones have smaller steering wheels. Drive one without power steering and you'll know why they have big steering wheels. Driving down the road you can't tell much difference but backing and driving around slowly you need the leverage of the big wheel.
How do you get the corn in the corn mountain off the ground and into the bin? Of the 1,700 acres you plant: how many each do you plant in (1) Corn, (2) Beans, (3) Hay (remember your little Corn Brother Cooper's fund raising etc. )?
I was taught that if a bearing is properly greased, it's like walking on the beach with the water up to your ankles. If it's over greased, it's like walking on the beach with the water up to your neck.
Three phase motors is motor current with three path of power that cross at six points of power so it always has on status as one path switches off there is another switching on. The point is never try to interrupt this always has forward torque. This will rip your arm clean off!
Why do semi's have such large steering wheels? Before there was power steering there was what was called Arm Strong Power Steering, the bigger the steering wheel the easier it was to steer the truck. They are still large because if the power steering goes out you are still able to steer the truck to a safe place to stop. Cheers...
