I daily drive mine past 3 years only had to changed starter motor, ive done rod bearings and injectors as preventative maintenance
As long as you buy a half decent example. Just do preventative maintenance as it's one of the most reliable cars to own.
My experience was positive. He probably bought a molested model from previous owners
So the sales pitch is “one BMW M3 for sale, never sure it would start each day I went to it, 96k miles so due a big 100,000 mile service soon” Somehow I don’t think adding parts means you can sell it at the price you paid for it either. Ask WBAC for a value 👍

I bought 120k miles e90 m3 lci. 127k miles now added 7k miles in my first year! Still going strong

@@ASH-lr8sd I bought mine in march 2023 at 120k miles for $24k. No rod bearings or throttle body done. It had a long maintenance history and the owner was old dude who has a family. Seems like a reasonable car. Not major problems just wheel sensors worn out
It's certainly reliable for an 'M' car - the S54 has as many, or more, issues. Problem is people see a '3 series' and think it will cost 3-series money to run, instead of an exotic coupe with a motorsport 4.0 V8. You can daily a Ferrari California but it will cost you £s in petrol and parts.

Just bought one and pick up Saturday. Used values are low ish for 08 and 09 cars still and mine has had TA done but not rod bearings so I factored in £1850 to do those along with engine mounts etc when purchasing. It is definitely not and never will be a daily car for me as too special for one thing and is a mood lifter vs. Hum drum modern cars especially.

Sorry to see you're selling your M3, but I get why, especially with your DD mileage. They're just too thirsty for that kind of mileage IMO (unless you have very deep pockets of course!).

I prefer tony e92 m3, i think his is in better condition although his mileage is very high😅.
You'd have been better of selling the A45 and turning the M3 into another track car, A45 has got nothing to offer now youtube wise

This makes complete sense as you explained in detail and is completely impractical for a daily. You have enjoyed it, created some great content with it, unfortunately spent a lot of money on it and now it is time to move on. Looking forward to the 600hp S1 build 😜
Sold my E92 M3 recently too, don’t think you can get a better car for the money, its the road tax killing these cars, miss mine everyday even though it was sold for an upgrade

at value for money, but the maintenance is a lot which people don’t realise. The V8 noise and perfectly balanced chassis make up for it all
Why you’d want to have a Golf R as a track car over an e92 is beyond me. You’ve gone about it in a completely backwards way. The Golf is a daily, the e92 M3 is the car you want to track🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

If you wanted a reliable daily and you really knew about cars you would use a Lexus or a Toyota.

It's true I would not own one unless it's low mileage, luckily mine is. Buying any performance car with all original parts at 60-70k mileage can get expensive as this is typically when many components are past their best. Also if you are that bothered about the cost, learn to spanner yourself.

Gorgeous car but you shouldn't have had to put half as much money into it as the car has made you put in. It's been far from pain free motoring with this car. Makes me so glad I didn't buy one myself because I definitely don't have the pocket or patience for an ownership experience like you've had. Looking forward to seeing whats next though!
Any high powered car u buy second hand at that age is gonna get expensive unless the previous owner already did the work. And with the e92 m3 all "problems" are well known so u already know that when u buy it.
