Great video. Thank you for teaching me the correct way to paint. I was actually making a lot of mistakes. I live in Michigan. The thumb 👍🏼 as many describe it 😀 I moved a year ago, to the next city over from my previous residence. Best move ever. My patio sits in the back of the condo which overlooks trees and grass. No cars. No noise. Only serenity. Also, I’m right next to a 74 acre nature center. It has 191 spices of birds. I’ve been fortunate to see cardinals, mourning doves, hawks, woodpeckers, blue jays, many others. Looking forward to the fall this year. I moved into my condo right when the leaves had fallen. All the beautiful color of leaves I saw, and instantly thought I would have a blast this autumn on my patio. Time to go to Michaels and pick up some extra supplies. I never thought I would ever be able to have such serenity and peace, and I’m so grateful and thankful for this piece of heaven I was given. Much needed and will help my art immensely. I wish everyone blessings as I was given. J
Very good video for absolute beginners. It does take practice. I live in the South. No mountains but I do love the mountains Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Moved here to Maine 10 years ago- absolutely love it! Love being away from city life.. Grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, loved the coastal mountains- and up into the Redwoods- up into Oregon- got stuck in the southeast most of my adult life due to being in and working for the Navy.... retired to Maine 10 years ago- like being back in the northwest- without all the bad that's happened there! lol
This is very helpful as still a beginner & lived most of my life in the Southwest so love painting mountains & trying to swipe off paint below each mountain or will go down the whole page with first very light & then let that dry & do next one. Practice helps ty.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you got something out of this video. I wish you many happy mountain paintings my friend. Thank you for leaving me a comment and taking the time to watch my videos.
@@JackiePeacock yes im here, maybe the time difference between our countries which would make it difficult to sync live :) thanks for your tutorial , its has really helped me develop a style of my own... my father was a very big artist and then I never followed him , he passed away in 2017 and now I have a desperate longing for painting ... to follow his steps
Thanks so much for this great mountain tutorial. I live in the northeast, in Pennsylvania. I love the variety of birds here and the changing seasonal colors in nature. . . . and I'm also a huge fan of mist and fog!
Thank you so much for creating these very helpful videos; I love your style. I live on a ranch in Colorado at 7400 feet. I show horses and have a Jack Russell shorty dog. My husband has a degree in Fine Arts and was an illustrator for Hallmark Cards in KC after graduation. He missed the ranch life, so moved back and became a horse trainer and created his own style of custom sterling silver work (it's three denominational...not engraving). He has work all over US, Canada and Europe. He tries to help me with my watercolor adventure ,,,, but the husband/wife thing gets in the way. I am having fun....thanks again!
Thanks for sharing, Suzi! Colorado and living on a ranch sounds beautiful and like a lot of hard work. I totally get having your spouse help you with things and it being frustrating lol.
After several failed attempt to paint in watercolor, I’m back again and try to find tutorial for mountainous landscape. I plan to trek in Nepal this October. Your channel is very helpful.
Great. I live on the mountains in Colorado and I love it here. Thank you for teaching. Am so grateful that you were bold to make a you tube channel and stepped out of your comfort zone. Great job. Thanks again
I’ve been thinking the beautiful landscape of Alaska, so great timing! I’ll definitely film some of those in the near future. 🤍 and thank you for your feedback!
Just discovered your channel via Emma lefebvre…I live on the coast of Australia and love the beach…not many mountains around here…but I’m hoping to use your mountain techniques in miniature to improve painting my beach rocks and cliffs. Also some wishful thinking mountain misty paintings 😀
Hi Lauren! So glad you decided to join me over here. I hope you get what you’re after with your rocks and cliffs. I love cliffs; I’ll have to think about painting those too. I believe you can paint a misty scene! 🌲
I have been watching water color videos and came across your channel. Love your misty water colors. Your voice is soothing while explaining your techniques. I am excited to see where this takes me. I make cards as a hobby so utilizing these techniques will be so helpful.
Hello Jackie, I also love misty scenes. I love the instructions with this video. I am so glad that we are able to see your palette and water. It helps to watch as for loading brushes. I struggle alot with that. Living in the Great Lakes area there is a verity of landscape. But I am so partial to mountains, pine trees and log cabins. The sound of wind through pine trees is delightful. I initially started pencil drawings but also like to add color to the drawings. So enjoying your tutorials. Thanks so much . ( still struggle with the lovely pine trees😉). Rebecca
Thank you , Rebecca! I'm so glad you liked the instructions. I'm trying, lol. Ooh yes, I am thinking about how to get the paints and water into my shots for future videos. I have a couple more videos that I've already filmed that may not have it, but moving forward I will keep that in mind. :) And I couldn't agree more; nothing more soothing than the sound of wind whistling through the trees. Keep practicing those trees! You'll get there, and you'll more than likely discover your own perfect tree and love it even more.
Thank you for this instruction video. I am just starting my journey and your words are inspirational..... "keep practicing" " it takes time". I love your art. I am enjoying the process and try not to get discouraged. Thank you again and I will....practice, practice, practice
I really appreciate your teaching style and loved this video new follower right here!! This helped me a lot! On to pine trees later still struggling there 😂
Can’t wait - I want to learn to paint your landscapes. They remind me of a trip to Washington/Idaho we took several years ago now, and it was SO beautiful. Would it be wrong of me to ask…and feel free to ignore me….what colors are in your palette? I have one just like that and want to fill it with useful colors and not things that are pretty but not worth having. ??
I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! I have so many random colors in my palette to be honest haha. But some of the colors I personally use quite often are by Daniel Smith and include perylene green, deep sap green, lunar black, burnt sienna, burnt umber, sepia, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, Indian red, paynes grey, Mayan blue, and a deep purple. I use more, but these are the ones I pull from most often. Of course it’s always nice to have your primary colors and a few others that you love if you can’t be bothered to mix your paints.
Well cities are beautiful, too. I’ve always loved the evenings in summer when I lived in one. But, camping is a wonderful to escape the noice, and nothing beats fresh air. :)

I live in California and can see the Sierra mountains from where we live in Sacramento. It is beautiful when the snow drops on the mountains.
Love that! The Sierras are magical. The west coast just has so much beauty. I'm glad you can see them even when a few hours away :)

This is so helpful, thank you. I live in the crazy high mountains, 7500 ft, of southern Colorado! I love it here and love mtns.
Very helpful, Jackie! We spend half our time in the mountains. Simply love everything about them! Thanks for the video. Looking forward to more!
You are so welcome! And there’s no better place to be I think. Mountains are just magical.

I live very close to the Rocky Mountains! They are gorgeous!
The Rockies really are stunning 🤩
I’m in Utah and love the mountains and hiking. I want to try to paint mountains, thanks for the videos!

I've lived in the city when younger. Concrete and tar, but my parents took me camping around nature.
