    I am a newbie when it comes to watercoloring. I have watched so many videos of other artists, but you are by far the best teacher. I love your talent and your voice is so calming. And I say that because I have caught myself holding my breath while trying to paint. But when I watch your lessons, it's very calming. I hope I am making sense. Lol. But I want to show you one of the paintings I did that suppose to look like yours ,but it's no were like yours. Please let me know what ya think please. Thank you for sharing with us.

      Hi Rhonda! I'm flattered that you think so highly of me. There are many wonderful teachers here on RUclips, but it's always finding the ones that you can connect with the most for a great learning experience. I'm glad you've found that here on my channel. I am still learning how to navigate an educational experience through video and what viewers want to see. It's been wonderful, and reading comments like yours makes me feel like I'm actually helping and making a difference in ones' learning journey.
      And yes, you make total sense to me! I've been a lot of comments saying my content is calming. This makes me SO HAPPY because it's exactly what I've been trying to achieve. It's what I would want in a learning environment, so I'm trying to give that to those who love it too.
      If you'd like to share any of your work, then I think the best place is IG. I'm active on there at the moment, but I've been checking for messages and comments to make sure I get back to anyone taking the time to reach me. I'd love to see your work, though. :)

      Glad the video could help with anxiety. Providing a calming aesthetic is part of my intention in creating these videos.
      And you can become great by painting! Anyone can become good at almost anything with practice and perseverance.

    Omg, every time you talk about perfectionism, reference photos, being frustrated… it’s like you’re talking about me. I have identical issues and my creative side wants to do impressionistic art, but my mind rarely shuts off and I keep building the details, trying to achieve realism even though I don’t really like realism… such a paradox of mine and I struggle a lot with it

    l like your conifer trees as l too like to paint them both in oil & W/C, Your mountains are good too , but l do not think they are as precise as your trees. l mean geology wise l think they could be a bit better but everyone has style ,and method they like. l am glad l discovered your site, as l like to paint tall conifer trees with much more realistic details than the easy Cmas tree style that so many use. l use a variety of pointed Chinese brushes. l paint our Colorado mountain scenes .

    • @JackiePeacock

      I always use Arches cold press. I’ve tried the rough style and I like it, but I always go back to the cold press.
      I don’t like hot press.

    Hi Jackie ,. another one of my favorites. Alot of great tips and explanations. I love ,. ..(and see it consistently in your tutorials), you use a square dish for your paint ,.. I assume it is porcelain? I also notice you have different consistencies of pigment ,. can you explain how you came about doing this and why you find this helpful?😄

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  Год назад +1

      Aww so glad you liked in Lori!
      The dishes are actually enamel pans. I purchased them from an Etsy shop called, TirraLyra :)
      As far as paint consistency, I tend to go back and forth with loading my brush with more water or more paint and less water. If I have more water on my brush here's my process: I dip my brush into my paint mix, then dip it into my water, then taking my brush I rub it against the rim of the glass to remove any excess water. For a thicker and richer paint consistency here's my process: I will dip my paint brush directly into my damp paints and then move my brush around the paint dish just so I can work it into the bristles; that way the paint is quite thick on my brush.
      Not sure if that's the best answer... but I am working on some free downloading worksheets for these random techniques I do. I'm thinking pictures and a step by step might be useful.
