Straight Pool is the No Limit Poker of Pool. I am going to have to introduce it to my subscribers. I started playing 14.1 when I was 10 years old. It's a shame that a lot of players no nothing about it.

The best players know how important the skills learned from 14.1 translate into the other games. 3 cushion billiards as well, so important to learn and watch. Thanks for commenting.

My name is Bridgeport pistola' I started playing pool at the age of 7" in my grandfather's garage,at the age of 12" I was playing straight pool at Park City pool hall,in Bridgeport Connecticut, every pool hustler in the country back then came to this pool room that includes Minnesota fats & Willie mosconi, the pool room closed up when I was 14" that's when I and the other players would play at Stratford town fair or Milford recreation, to me straight pool is still the best game to play and teach new coming player's the real meaning of pool,

i tend to lean towards the commentators explanation, that mike probably can't help himself. to me it doesn't matter though, as long as he's silent when not at the table. legendary player, mike sigel

It's customary to shake your opponent's hand after a match, but I've noticed that that's not necessarily the case in straight pool. And I thought this was a gentleman's game :P

3 cushion billiards is a gentleman's game. pool has NEVER been, even close, to being a gentleman's game. sadly, it's a bum's game, which is why there is no prize money. no respectable corporation wants their brand associated with pool.

@@JohnS-il1dr The IPT? lol. Mike had been professionally retired for almost 15 years before the IPT rolled around. How well do you think a guy plays in retirement? The IPT in no way should be used as a measurement of Mike's top game. If you base it on when both players were in top form, Mike came out on top. You can ask Efren, if you like.

@@raphcleary4706 According to a search Efren has won around 70 major titles. Where Sigel is 100 and something. But, the key here is to look at the length of each’s career. Sigel retired quite early when still playing top level pool, from boredom and no money in the sport.

@@uvafan940 Mike Sigel won 100 titles, a lot of those titles were 500 dollar events with many top players not in them. Efren won over 100 International titles, in much bigger events, throughout America, Asian & Europe.
