I always appreciate Billy Incardona's style of commenting and Mr.Garcia's knowledge of the game made it a great team. I am only 30 minutes in and know I will watch it through.
Was looking for Mike Siegel matches and came across this one, looked interesting with Nick Varner. As I started watching the video, the referee came into view and low and behold It was a man whom I am proud to call my second DAD!! His name is Bruce Baker and I lost him in 2010 to cancer. He taught me a lot about the game and put me in charge of his pool hall in Fostoria, Ohio in 1989. I miss him dearly!! never knew he refereed this match until today!! Thank you for uploading this video because it brought back many great memories of Bruce!! R.I.P Bruce!!!
it is so nice to watch players who know how to play straight pool. Mr Garcia was perfect for a straight pool analyst and commentator. Knowledgeable and a very professional demeanor and a very pleasing voice. Spoke like a real professional. I'll be grateful and happy to watch any straight pool match with Mr Garcia in the booth. Thumbs up!
Mike is an extremely entertaining player to watch. I saw him in tournaments and a most incredible exhibition match against Pete Margo .The match was a 500 point er , 0 to 250 and 251 to 500 catch up with a break in between. Mike was out in 6 or 7 innings with a final score of 500 to 74. He opened with 137, and had other runs of 80 and 94. One match I wont forget.
Maybe its because im new to the actual pro side of the sport..but nothing is wrong with the commentators to me. The guy bill talks a lot but i kinda like it. Fits the pace and definitely helps somebody thats new to the game.
Sigel could really put the topspin on the cue ball and force it to go through the stack. I've seen him do it before. When I try that, I get stuck up against some balls.
Is there a particular reason why Sigel was going out of his way to avoid eye contact with Jose Garcia during the post match interview? It's as if he was acting like Garcia was not even there.
@@markgalura2891 i have no idea what your question is, but mosconis run was an exhibition match on an 8 foot table with 5 inch pockets. schmidts was on a 9 footer with tighter pockets. no comparison whatsoever.
I was at this event...Sigel was handed his hat by an inexperienced (at the time) John Schmit who hadn't really played any 14.1 before this...Sigel broke his cue, acted like a total jerk most of the time...Efren played great, ran 140 against Dallas West, Souguet was great throughout the event beating Efren...played flawlessly in the final against a wonderful young Chinese player who also played great...Ralf beat him to the shot and just shut him down...
Sigel retired a second time after this didn't he? It's crazy to think how much more he would have accomplished in pocket billiards if he decided to never retire.
It is called Straight Pool. Also know as 14.1 Pool. This specific type of pool was what all professionals used to play in tournaments, before 8-ball and 9-ball became more popular.
Efren might be the greatest all-around player ever, but these two guys are both right there with him in the conversation. They both won more than Efren did when all three were competing, and Nick went to the Philippines in 1990 to play Efren a race to 60 9-Ball and beat him 60-47.
At 18:50, interesting comment by the commentators that using follow action sacrifices a bit of accuracy because the cue obscures much of the cue ball. Much less when cueing lower for a draw shot.
Nah they are not much bigger but i think you have a point i think this are 5.25 inch pockets maybe even 5 inch i have a Rasson at home with 4 inch pockets and let me tell you its the hardest table ive ever played on and the cut is diffrent 2
If ONLY it did the same thing to HIM. Met him once, he didn't stop for a breath the entire time I was sitting there. He thinks he's a whole lot brighter than he is, too...but he sure as hell could play pool, gotta give him that. I should add one other thing...if he made that cue he was holding, he is one HELL of a cue maker, that thing was gorgeous.
What a treat to watch these two legends. Two of the greatest all-around players ever.

Hello Dean. Thank you for writing about your connection with Bruce. We are glad it brought back great memories! RIP Bruce!
Jose Garcia provided some of the best commentary I've ever heard on a straightpool match very good indeed

Great commentary by Mr. Garcia. I would like to hear more from him.
José Garcia is a great commentator! Very impressed with his Straight Pool Knowledge!
Putting up with Billy's commentary is an event on its own.

Great pool, and excellent commentary. José and Billy called this game in such a comfortable and seamless fashion. Very impressive.
In my opinion Jose Garcia is the best commentator I've ever heard.... Billy and Danny can be brutal
Danny is very good with JJ or Grady, lousy with Billy who talks too much.
I miss the good ole days when they dressed up to play and now they’re like walking NASCAR billboards.
Beautiful! Upload more videos from those years please. Thanks
I will try my best

@Charlie B I grew up with Sigel, played in the same room for years...he was a jerk then and still is....
Does any1 know what cue Sigel is playing with this match? Its beautiful:) i just love those old school cues.
Mike Siegel is a cue maker , might be his own cue.
@@lennymakue2284 ohh i did not know that🤔 i play with a southwest cue but it does not have those kind of inlays but its one of the best hitting cues.
I didn't know he made cues either. But after googling is cues, I'd say that's definitely one of his own cues. They all have that same look.
It's his own cue he made

Ralf Souquet.
