When life and humans become almost unbearable, one goes back to Johannes Sebastian, and everything looks better, brighter, and hope is regained that even in the most adverse circumstances, beauty will prevail. Thank you so very much.
I've never seen this kind of classicoelectric guitar playing. It is very elegant and persistent without distortion equipment sticking to the original style of Bach. Very serious attainment. I envy you, Sir.
There's this guy Ethan Winer who played Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo theme on electric guitar. Most cellists sound like rocknroll compared to his playing 😅
Until hearing this performance, I didn’t know it was possible for an electric guitar to sound beautiful, much less play this work, originally written for solo violin. That is why the individual lines of music are so distinct, and the intervals when played on the violin require double or triple stoppin with the bow and great care with the left fingers to play in tune. I am both improved and impressed. Superbe!
Vielen Dank.❤
The 1st time I watched this I just got home from a long day and was drinking a glass of scotch. After 2 sips, I’m thinking man this is really potent whiskey. I was blown away. As I watched I realized this musician is in his element…..watch him….his soul is in a different world. His brain is still commanding his nervous system to play the notes thru muscle memory but he is in a different world. He’s left his body. Absolutely beautiful Edvard. Notice the nylon string guitar head in the right background? You don’t learn something like this by picking up your electric guitar one day and learning to play TAB. He’s been playing classical for quite awhile. Great color, tone….the plectrum gives a bit different taste and contrast. Makes me appreciate Bach more listening to individual single notes by themselves or during a scale with 2 note chords or triads. Beautifully played Edvard. ALSO, a huge salute to your team. The audio was spot on. The video was perfect…with most on the subject with perfectly timed scenes of nature. Just enough to ignite the listeners imagination but not distract from the subject. It was artful to see that. Great team. All of you are talented. I see great things in your future.
I mean… It's just awesome! But imagine that some three hundred years ago there lived a man who managed to compose a piece that first, sounds good on all possible instruments, and second, sounds good on an instrument invented almost two hundred years after his death! I was brought here by RUclips, and before I listened to the Chaconne played on a Japanese koto. Search for it, you won't be disappointed.
i appreciate this being played with some gain and not a wall of digtial distortion, compressor, layers of modulation with a shred style, this feels much bigger
@NikosKatsikanis there's nothing wrong with it, but much of the classical music on guitar on my feed falls Into either: shred guitar with tons of effects and signal manipulation, or classical guitar, this is very refreshing
@@k-ondoomer there is a gentleman who plays chopin, satie, etc. on a telecaster here somewhere on youtube with a similar sensibility: generally clean, tasteful adaptation on a vintage electric instrument that takes advantage of its dynamic range. you might find him interesting
This is as fine a Chaconne as I’ve ever heard. I’m amazed at his ability to control the dynamic range of electric guitar and make it work so well and beautifully. Bravo!
This can't be the real Sorhands checking out electric Bach. ;) Btw, my instructor (Alex Rockwell) does/has a nifty electric quartet version of The Little Fugue on his page. Sacrilege - but very fun!
This is the greatest piece of music ever written. Your version is absolutely beautiful, it is always very nice to hear the Chaconne on so various instruments
Beautiful, thank you. Many performers just don't understand that the exquisitely beautiful minor to major key transition at 8:26 requires an insightful and quiet touch. You did. You get Bach, just like Moran Wasser does in his 11-string classical performance of this sublime piece. Thank you Edvard.
Bravo
Wonderful musical interpretation of the Bach classic. Merged the gap between electric and classical guitars. Fantastic performance by memory. I listen to the Segovia version on LP often and believe that Andre would approve of this performance, even on electric guitar. Thank you for your hard work tand sharing your talent with the world. Bravo!!!
OMG- Quite the work-out for a flat-pick and the right hand (and left )! Good consistent tempo and voicings. I had low expectations but was positively surprised by this rendition and listened to the entire piece.
Bravo.
This is the greatest piece of music ever written and this was one of the greatest interpretations of it that I have heard in the 55 years since I have been listening to it. I was at first skeptical that it could even be played on an electric guitar. But you pulled it off spectacularly. Absolutely beautiful. Bravo!
Having heard the Chaconne in many versions and on different instruments, I was curious to see whether it could really work on electric guitar- an instrument I am very fond of. I was really surprised. This version far exceeded my expectations. Warm congratulations. Very lovely indeed. Chris.
Surprisingly quite nice on the electric guitar, certainly has a unique sounding to it, but it amaze me how this piece sounds so good on guitar.. One of the best pieces ever written
Absolutely beautiful interpretation, and I also never quite understood how monstrously difficult this piece is on electric guitar. Amazing technical and emotional accomplishment.
Agree 100% Bach is unreal! I especially love his works for solo instruments. His fugues and such for keys are indescribable. I have no music that tops it for me.. by anyone ever.
Benedikt
Very relaxing to listen to. And impressive skills! This is what we could get, if there wasn't always someone telling what can or cannot or should not be done with an instrument. I am definitely not as skillful, but even I have been told several times what should not be played on the electric. Well, even this video is not viral, definitely more interesting than all those toccata recordings.
Incredible, I'm absolutely amazed. This is one of my favorite classical pieces and I'm so happy that there's a version on electrical guitar. You captured the spirit of this piece perfectly. Also, the setting and camera are wonderful! I wished this had more views. Keep up the good work! :)
Nice! Thank's for doing things differently, plying this with a pick, I liked the middle tremolo section... What I loved the most is definitely your sincerity. I've almost always preferred musicians that ply things in their own way, or listening to concertist rehearsing before a concert, repeating short phrases. I always felt that I get more of the individuality of artist, I get more what's inside their head or heart at that moment. As a professional musician my self, I prefer sincerity way much more than chirurgical precision. CONGRATS!!!!
bloody disaster, everything done with a pick... I'm astonished! ❤❤❤ Yeap... some hybrid picking from time to time, but those fast picking with string skipping at 06:30 to 07:30 ... unbelievable.
Bravissimo!!!
This is ssuch exquisitely beautiful. Really shows mostly unkown depths of how awesome the pure sound of the electric guitar is without a whole stack of pedal boards.
I liked everything about that. Shows that Bach, played well, sounds amazing on any instrument. The key is your playing though, which I thought was wonderful. Great clarity and dynamics. Thanks for recording and posting.

Another facet of Bach's genius. Music composed for any instrument sounds good on any other instrument. Wonderful interpretation.
Did not you mean one instrument instead of any?
@@rorschach0 Not just one instrument. Any instrument. That's my observation, too.
