That was an eventful, but fun day. The quality of your video production is looking better and better! Thanks for the shout out! Ima join you in the Bronco on one of these runs soon!
I've been swimming in that water hole. Nice trail to get in there from Sandy Valley, NV. Goes up in a pine forest. My Jeep transmission overheated, so the next day, I traded it in on a 2016 Tundra 4x4. Still have it! Built to the hilt!
Great video and awesome drone footage! I'm going to be heading out that way the 1st / 2nd week of April and am curious .... how deep would you guess the 2nd (now deeper) water crossing was at Afton Canyon? Thanks in advance!
PCI and Rugged both make good kits that take all the guess work out of it. Then there are places like Ham Radio outlet that can help too. But you need some know how with them
Road has changed a lot since this video. Large sections of the Mojave road were washed away between Barstow and Kelbaker road. Last 2 years worth of storms completely changed the landscape and trails out there. So plan accordingly
Glad I have a JEEP. your fords are living up to their name. “ FIX OR REPAIR DAILY”. not knocking you guys, I’ve been on the Mojave many times no problems, knock wood. Nice footage, good trip✌🏿
Your not hitting the speeds we are 🤷♂️. Raptor can do the whole Mojave road from yermo to Laughlin with stopping at all the sites in a couple of hours. We average between 40-75mph on the trail. I took my wifes Jeep on tame stuff and it did not make it a day without having problems. Literally every run, we went home with an engine code or something glitching. We got tired of all the problems that keeps showing up after every run and finally got rid of it. All the damage you saw here is typical offroad damage for high speed off-roading. Specially when the washboards are as bad as they are on the Mojave. Jeeps maybe hit 40 on the Mojave. And for the most part you guys are averaging 5-10mpg
No worries man. I know the Jeep is a good platform for rock crawling and all that. I have a buddy that calls them goats because of where they can go. But that’s a whole different kind of off-roading. Raptor was not designed for it. Just like the Jeep was not designed for fast off-roading. It don’t work When each is used outside their elements. But in their elements each platform shines.
So many reasons. First of all is grip. Toyo RT has more grip on the trails. But the big surprise here is grip on the road. The KO2s are awful once it gets wet. And as they KO2s get older, grip gets worse. After 20k miles KO2s get scary with the lack of grip. 2nd is longevity. I got 38k miles out of my toyo RTs with a lot of off-roading. And they still had life left. Kevin here was at about 35k miles. My first set KOs barely made it to 24k and they were bald. My 2nd set barely made it to 14k and they were replaced under warranty by ford because it was so little. Got so much more life out of the RTs. Lastly is noise. KO2 with miles on them get loud. The RTs were quieter than an old KO2. For my money it’s still my favorite tire. Period. And many others agree. Only area it sucks in is snow, and we don’t get much snow here in SoCal
We had a stock Gen1 on this trip that did fine. He’s the one borrowing the spare and he ended up getting a flat. So they do just fine just make sure you have the extra spare and a 50 watt VHF radio and your good
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad awesome 😎 looking forward to running with you guys in the future. What’s the best radio you recommend that’ll get the job done but will also not break the bank?
PCI and Rugged both have kits that take the headache out of buying one. I also have videos on how to install them here and some options on my amazon. But honestly PCI and rugged is your best bet
Just bought a white 2017. Will be going to the dunes soon to get a feel. Planning on coming to a raptoraddict event this summer. Is the bump stop a must ? Got my radio spares and tools already. Cheers!
If your just starting out now. But you will soon see how easy it is to bottom out the back and end and a bump stop is a must. On my 2017 raptor I held off too long and eventually mushroomed the frame right at the stock bumps
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad yes saw that video of your blue Raptor. Will probably hold off on going with you guys until I have bump stop and stronger leaf and springs hope to go on RaptorAddict soon.
Don’t have to have it to go out man. Just have to understand your trucks limitations and drive within them. I drove for years without one. But I wanted to go faster, so then at that point it was a must.
Usually if you have 2 spares on top of the bed, you remove the one under the bed. No need to carry 3. On my original setup for my 2017 Raptor I carried one below and one of above to give me more storage space and allow me to carry 2. But once I switched to 37s, my only option was above the bed because it would not fit under the bed.
You should do a TikTok or IG reel of the “Oh damn” song. With everyone that fell out. Prosper got shot (shot!), Tay got shot (ha!) Desi got dropped (damn!) Nate got popped (damn!) Leeke got shot (well damn!), Spazz face hot (on gang!) Corbin got kidnapped, they found his bones he was rotten (where's Corbin?)
🤣🤣 right!! Definitely gets the message across that off-roading can’t always be perfect. Shit can go wrong at any moment. Better to be ready than helpless.
Another great video KID!!.... So question for you bro... I just ordered a second spare rim on ebay & I'll put rubber on it when I get it.... Ok does my OEM spare have a tpms sensor on it???.... & if not, is that why it has the BS sticker that sez don't use as normal"???.... that's my guess anyhow, cuz it's a full size!!!... #2... can u refer me to a lower priced radio that u say I need to run with u guys??... thanx & God bless KID!
No TPMS and that’s why it says no long term use. You can get new oem sensors but they are expensive As for radio, the only cost effective option is a hand held and that’s linked in my amazon page. For hard wired you can’t get better than the kits PCI race radios and Rugged makes
Definitely. Far less oh shit moments. Even when they do happen, truck rolls right over them. Still finishing up the rehab, but overall I’m much happier I and truck is taking a ton more abuse than the last one
Which one? I’ve been trying to get TRX guys to hit the trails and none of them want to come. There is always an excuse why they can’t come ride with raptors
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I thought from the TRX test drive video you did that guy was going to go with you. I’m really curious on your opinion of it even in stock form out on the trails.

What an amazing experience that must be. Wish we had trails like that here in Texas. Bad ass video man, great work.
Thanks man. I’m sure the trails are out there in Texas, but they probably on private land somewhere
Man y’all left coasters are lucky to have all those nice desert trails. looked like a great time even with the few issues 👍🏻

Water is may 1.5 ft deep max. The level fluctuates up and down based on rain fall but it’s never bad
Miss watching your videos, awesome content as always.

Count me in on yur next one guys. 🤙🏼🇺🇸 Mojave is only about 40 minutes from where I live.
Right on man. Make sure you follow us on IG for run announcements
We run the Mojave a bunch of times a year. It is always a blast, but will challenge your truck's durability every time. Great video.
Yeah, it definitely will. Specially if you just stay the Mohave road the whole time. Those washboards are brutal.
Love your videos! Have my 2 spares, working on a radio and bump stops. Hope to join your group someday soon.
Awesome man. Don’t wait too long. Focus on the radio first and you can start joining now
Sounds good. Any recommendations on a radio? Anything to avoid or look for? I'm willing to spend more if I'm only buying it once. Thanks in advance.
