I just returned from Mojave last night, (4 days- Balancing Rock to the Water Crossing) and had to watch this video again. What a great experience Mojave Road was. Thanks for the tips on making it such a successful trip. The camp in the New York Mountains was definitely the best of the 4 camps I stayed at. Balancing Rock was a close second. I missed the Rock House somehow, but managed to see everything else and more. I even saw Marco’s rock on the monument, still near the top. The crossing was deep, (About half way up the doors) and a little made its way into the cab, but It was dry by the time I got home. My Jeep did extremely well, and luckily suffered no trail damage. I’ve got to say, that was one of the best trips I’ve been on. Thanks again! OIIIIIIIO
Thanks for showing that trip. I used to travel the Mojave Road probably once a year but the last time was about 30 years ago. It doesn't appear to have changed much. I never made it across the dry lake as back then it usually wasn't dry.
Awesome trip man ! I'm European but i would really love to make such trip anytime soaking and experience all stuff out there.. where i live (Romania) we do have some nice mountain roads and twice /year we do take trips with Dacia Duster club owners something like the off-road gang trip you have at the beginning of this adventure .. so anyway really glad i watched your trip so maybe if i will ever have the chance to fly there i might rent a Jeep & grab some camping gear and hit those amazing trails.. if you do more adventure trips like this please up-load them so we can get more inspired for future vacations.. tanks ! ;0)
@@TrailRecon that would be nice overland bound members inviting you, we are here all over Europe and for the ones that I know, we would love to help you get on the trail!
@@mazevx2451 We don't have so many technical trails like you have on the west coast, but we do have a lot of great mountain overland drives here in Europe. Especially cool places to go in Turkey, even if it is not the safest at the moment.
Im in MA I share your pain. Only thing I got is mudding which I've grown to hate...or drive an hour to Cape Cod to take it on the Beach which is always a fun time.
In case it hasn't been mentioned b4, you would be shocked at how much better a campfire would be if you would tote along a washing machine drum. Put it up on several football sized rocks. The wood burns much more efficiently, slower, the heat retention will amaze everyone. You will burn so much less wood and the warmth that radiates in all directions will blow you away. The steel of the drum heats up and radiates a tremendous amount of heat. The rocks provide a taller heat blanket as well as providing air flow and also heat up and radiate heat. Try it once and you will never go back to pit campfires again. I realize space is limited with your rvs but this you WILL make room for. Regular campfires loose more heat than they radiate.
My volcano stove works like a washer drum (like we use at Glamis!) It also works like Marco's flat grill. Also works anywhere you can't have a fire directly on the ground. Most highly recommend!
Amazing adventure and awesome work capturing the trip on video. Jeepin and camping on the Mojave Road is definitely on my bucket list now. Thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU so much for posting the coordinates! I beg other channels to do this but so far of all the channels I subscribe to, you are the only one doing it. Again, thank you.
Does Marco have some sort of Trail Cookbook or something out there?! Every time I watch one of your videos, it's always exciting not just to see what scenery you've surrounded yourself with, but what delicious meals he's got planned for the crew!
I had a '95 xj on 30s. A buddy had an '03 tj on '31s. While he was getting stuck, I was walking all over everything. I have a YJ now but I'm looking for another xj to build for this type of stuff. In other words, I guarantee it'll do fine. Just get a good set of all terrains (bfg ko2s or the like) instead of these SUV tires alot of people get, and you'll be alright
I had to go back and watch the walk around for Kate the Jeep. I kept thinking dang that thing sounded much more different...I have no idea how I missed that video. Great build.
Fantastic photography. Makes all the serious work and planning (and expense) worth it! Noticed you finally broke out a drone...😋 Great shots. I'm sure this adventure was a whole lot of p!anning and preping, but it was a nice adventure 'from an armchair '! Thanks for the ride, my dog would have loved all the openess... Thanks! Kudos!😎
Don't worry my Subaru will give a jeep or fj a run for its money, me and my grandad used to drive a 2 wheel drive chevy k10 around this area. The overland movement is cool but most places these folks go you don't need a jacked up jeep, just a case and some friends to get you through when a push is needed. Love, just another preoverlander

Thanks for showing that trip. I used to travel the Mojave Road probably once a year but the last time was about 30 years ago. It doesn't appear to have changed much. I never made it across the dry lake as back then it usually wasn't dry.
Dang it now I'm gonna have to go to the monument in my stock ass jeep just to see what the plaque says
Looked like so much fun Brad !!! And the food looked Amazing !!! Until next time , take care !!!
Awesome trip man ! I'm European but i would really love to make such trip anytime soaking and experience all stuff out there.. where i live (Romania) we do have some nice mountain roads and twice /year we do take trips with Dacia Duster club owners something like the off-road gang trip you have at the beginning of this adventure .. so anyway really glad i watched your trip so maybe if i will ever have the chance to fly there i might rent a Jeep & grab some camping gear and hit those amazing trails.. if you do more adventure trips like this please up-load them so we can get more inspired for future vacations.. tanks ! ;0)
Pop Laurentiu I’d love to see some video of your Romanian mountain trips!
I would love to head to Europe, rent a Jeep and do the same!
@@pablomax3045 I'm sure you wanted to answer to trailrecon, not me 😉
And an 'Extras' video would be great, too = deep dive into showing utensils, fridge options, cooking utensils, cooking plate options, etc...
wish we had trails like this in New England :(
Sounds like you need to make a road trip west!
Im in MA I share your pain. Only thing I got is mudding which I've grown to hate...or drive an hour to Cape Cod to take it on the Beach which is always a fun time.
we have plenty of great rails in western ma and NH and VT actually
JailBreak Overlander I’m from Western Mass, where are the wheeling trails?
You guys eat better than I do at home it's amazing. Will have to watch again and learn some recipe's.
Weight and storage make it impractical/impossible to take overlanding. It does help produce a better campfire, though.
My volcano stove works like a washer drum (like we use at Glamis!) It also works like Marco's flat grill. Also works anywhere you can't have a fire directly on the ground. Most highly recommend!
How many hours to cool down???
Amazing adventure and awesome work capturing the trip on video. Jeepin and camping on the Mojave Road is definitely on my bucket list now. Thanks for sharing!
OIIIIIIIO FOREVER 🚙
THANK YOU so much for posting the coordinates! I beg other channels to do this but so far of all the channels I subscribe to, you are the only one doing it. Again, thank you.
Marco needs to publish a cookbook
Man, I don't even own a Jeep but I love your videos! How cool! Thanks for sharing! Great editing! Beautiful country!
Great video, would you think about doing a walk around of Josh’s JL
yes, of course!
TrailRecon thank you
Great name!! And great idea. Just Stay tuned to Trailrecon , you never know when it might pop up.
What u do is a dream for many, wonderful video glad to find u on RUclips
Great video and fantastic destination. Only thought was - why so much stuff? We go motorcycle camping for a week with 1/8th of the stuff.
Great trip thanks for taking me along!
Now I wanna bring one of my rock to there too. LoL
It's worth it!
I truly want to find a group of people to share experiences like this. I want to live life like this!!!
The key to those tasty fish tacos was the old bay.
Does Marco have some sort of Trail Cookbook or something out there?! Every time I watch one of your videos, it's always exciting not just to see what scenery you've surrounded yourself with, but what delicious meals he's got planned for the crew!
My 10mm socket is still at the mailbox lol
It was still there 2 days ago.
Great content! My 3 yr old son loves watching your videos with me! Thanks for the videos!!
I really wish I could be a part of this group!
Just letting you know that I am living vicariously through your videos, man.
One day soon I'll have a Jeep Wrangler and do these trips.
Would a stock Jeep XJ be able to do this trail?
In good condition with a solid set of tires, yes!
It sure will. Some sandy areas. Not that bad at all. I like the pace. Slow down and enjoy scenery. Done enough of the ON THE GAS all the time
Thanks guys!
@@justinhelfer2022 Don't buy a Jeep, worst idea for off roads.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
2021 hasn't ended yet.
Almost a year later I have to ask how you feeling about that threat now
It's a quote from Fallout New Vegas lol
@@redneckwithajeep5001 "threat"
You dumb
I’m in love with that Jeep truck conversion
That’s it ... I’m Selling my race car and outfitting my tahoe ( I bought a new daily driver and decided a few months ago not to sell the Tahoe)
Thanks! Kudos!😎
I guess I will pass on the Jeep , stick to my GMC , thank you very much ! 😂🤣😂
The amount of wanderlust that this video ignites is insane...
none of that trail looked bad, looked like a subaru could drive that entire thing.
tank2449 i was thinking the same thing but, better to be over prepared
@@greygoose4x46 i mean my stock 84 s10 2.6 v6 4x4 4 spd manual with my all season tires could do that easily
@@thehighcountrymedicalclini794 a case of beer? damn right brother. my stock 1984 s10 with a 2.8 v6 and 4x4 with lockers front and rear could do this easily. and i only have 31's on it with some trimming of the fender. its more about the driver than the vehicle. ive gone places that big lifted up trucks and jeeps couldnt make it. its all about hammering down when you need to and when to ease your way through something also. 2.8 v6 isnt putting out much power haha
@@tank2449 damn straight a case of beer. Ya it is more so about the driver, and horsepower really isn't needed I mean you do need it but not like some guys push for. Ive watched a supercharged bronco mash up a hill with 35's lifted the werks and it looked cool throwing dirt and rocks huge bumpers ect... then I watched an international scout quietly and slowly putter over the same ruts haha, with its stock size tires. Got to remember some of this stuff is a lot like the guy knocking on your door I the 50's trying to sell you a mirco wave, when all you need is 5 more minutes on the old gas burner. Take care, from flagstaff, az
We just returned from a trip out to Mohave Rd using the first lat/long provided in the video and took a different/easier direction but it was no less amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
how much gas
I used a little over 3/4 of a tank. I brought and extra 3 gallons and added it... it's a good idea just in case.
+TrailRecon nice jeeps
Brad + Marco = best overland content in the states !!
The Wrangler's are garbage for off road for reliability, it's either older Nissan Patrol or Toyota Land cruiser are used for 4wd in Australia.
good on ya mate. we don't have the same opportunities as the land down under.
And here you are on a Jeep channel.
We just bought our first Jeep Wrangler, an 08 Rubicon Unlimited, after owning a 96 Jeep Cherokee for a few years. Your videos are fun and inspiring! They make my wife and boys want to go on adventures! Thanks for your channel, the videography is fantastic.
You traveled 117.5 miles to donate a ROCK ?
Man you make me want another jeep I was 16 years old in 1975 I bought a new 1975 jeep Renegade canary yellow with black stripes it was all metal no plastic it would go anywhere total cost $ 5.800 dollars what I would give to have it back I have a 2019 jeep Cherokee now but nothing like the old one watching these videos really making me want a Rubicon thanks for sharing these awesome videos.
Awesome video! I just got my first Jeep and I've been out to Afton canyon at the west end of the trail. But having a proper 4x4, now I can do this whole trail. Thank you, I learned a lot and am now even more excited to do this! Cheers
This is a fantastic video. Really interesting trail experience.
