This is not ALWAYS the case!🚫
I worked for a no kill 🚫💀🚫 cat 🐈 shelter for 10 years as a vet tech.
MANY were adopted through PetsMart!😻😍👍
They were great a showcasing our shyer cats that hid & did not show well at our shelter.😃👍😻
We were a cageless facility so it was easy for the reclusive ones to be over looked!
We did a TON of adoptions through them!😃😍😻👍
But WE (the rescue) were solely & wholly responsible for caring & adopting the cats.
NOT PetsMart!
PetsMart & Petco helps local rescues adopt their cats by allowing them to show their cats at their facility!
At least that's the way I have experienced & seen in MA & NH USA 🇺🇸!
And I know for a FACT they DID NOT COME FROM KITTEN MILLS!🚫🚫🚫
PLEASE do your research before you buy or adopt!
I just adopted 2 beautiful tabby girls from a local rescue in NH & they were showcased at PetsMart!
I adopted them in August of this year.
They are lovely healthy cats & the RESCUE-NOT PETSMART-has all the details and the adoptions are done AT THE RESCUE.
NOT AT PETSMART!🚫
Take price 🤑 into consideration too.
If you are paying more than $500.00 bucks for a kitten it's likely a kitten mill kitten.
Bred cats command a MUCH higher cost.🤑
Usually a thousand bucks or more.💵💵💵💵😳
Rescues also usually require you to fill out an adoption application & screen you.
Where your average pet shop is just interested in making a sale! 🤑
But PLEASE do not clump all pet stores in the same compartment.
That's just NOT fair!
Do your research & see if the shop is interested in making you jump through a few hoops to adopt the kitty or the place is just interested in a HIGH price tag!🤑💵

Thank you for your comment. We understand some pet stores showcase actual rescue animals. However, we urge people to not support purchasing pets *sold for profit* at a pet store. Pets being *sold* at pet stores (not adopted from a legitimate rescue) do often come from puppy/kitten mills which we have proven through our many investigations.

To be honest I would like to see pet stores like Pet Co & PetsMart (actually ALL pet stores) to stop selling any live animals: birds, reptiles, fish, pocket pets, rabbits & other exotics as I have heard horror stories at SOME.
I am sure it's not true for ALL but rather prevent a tragedy BEFORE it happens!

@@CAPS_web Especially here in Colorado! They have all of the puppy & kitten mills mapped out, they're there & STILL the crimes continue. Who gives the corrupt USDA the authority to "permit" these crimes? If you do investigations, PLEASE come to Colorado. I gave my special needs cat Moses up in December because I'm dying from a brain tumor. A Lap of Love vet, Dr. Danielle Harrington, said she would be glad to take him as her own. She is a liar. I've had to file numerous complaints, including with the Denver Animal Control who promised they would do a welfare check, then nothing, also with PETA, the PAW worthless committee here in Colorado, etc. ruclips.net/video/38a4wHrlbyo/видео.html
Feel free to see this video I made about the situation. The media doesn't give one crap about animals here, contrary to their "sympathetic ear". BS. I have finally hired my own private investigator & the vet has given false info to the Colorado Veterinary Board & Lap of Love- we can't find her, so far. It is strongly suspected that she sold Moses to one of these horrible kitten mills here in the state, left the state altogether, or the vet may have her very own mill. It's been near zero temp & if I find out my Moses is in one of these places, let's just say I'm already dying & wouldn't have any problem "handling the situation". Thanks for reading!

Your case is rare. They tried to pass a law here in Colorado to end puppy/kitten mills due to deplorable & criminal circumstances. The pet stores raised Holy hell, didn't give one crap about how the animals are treated. They simply "cleaned them up" & put them out to sell. Poor things. Not enough people have your compassion, kindness & care. Mainly people are greedy & outright evil, ESPECIALLY in corrupt Colorado. God bless you!

@@reflectionsoftheday3894 Not sure where your at (I'm in New England-NH) but, most "real" pet stores up here in the North East have been shut down that sell puppies & kittens! 🥳🎉🎈🎊
Petco's & PetSmart's feature TRUE rescue animals.
However I would like to see the day when NO 🚫 animal's are sold in ANY pet store ESPECIALLY pocket pets & reptiles.
Such as:
Snakes 🐍, scorpions 🦂, spiders 🕷️, lizards🦎, parakeets/cockatiels/lovebirds/basically ANY bird 🐦or parrot 🦜, rabbits 🐇, guinea pigs, hamsters 🐹, gerbils, mice 🐁, rats 🐀, fish 🐠, etc.
You get the idea.
I feel so bad for the critters because they usually have a low price tag & are impulse buys.😞
NO research done or thought given to proper care of said animals.😢💔
Have also heard & seen horrors of some stores dealing with sick or injured small animals online.
Someday hopefully puppy Mills & pet stores selling animals will be a thing of the past.🤞🍀🌠
Adopt don't shop will happen!
