Most toxic movement. It should be "Adopt, or shop responsibly". Sorry, but adoption isn't for everybody. Bred dogs need homes too, or they will end up at the shelter as well.
Thank you for informing people. Unfortunately most prefer to not believe it. They REFUSE to watch such a video, and that says it all... Some do get animals from shelters, which is perfectly okay. Their background are formerly also puppy mills or they come from abusive persons who neglected them or were homeless. ALL MIGHT be difficult to get used to another, your life. It takes a lot of love and patience. I myself had 14 rescued dogs, 5 cats, 2 horses and one donkey. They were/are the most precious in my life, never one single person.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion for animals! It's true that more and more Americans are taking a stand against them, but the U.S. still has about 10,000 puppy mills.
Some people who claim to be a dog lover only buy expensive dogs never adopt the stray are wrost people on earth. Because of people like them pets become business products.
About forty years ago I purchased a Boston Terrier puppy from a private breeder in East St. Louis, Missouri. There was just the mom and her litter in a modest home. The mom was healthy and looked well cared for. The house was very clean.

Anyone running a puppy mill or working at a puppy mill, and pet stores who buy from these puppy mills, need to be charged with animal cruelty. Pets do not deserve to be treated like this. This is just absolutely horrible.
Hi, I always wanted to know the exact definition of a puppy mill was I liked how you presented at the details. simple concise easy to understand. I am pro capitalism for businesses to make a profit but at the same time overall I am against puppy mills like you said in this presentation because unfortunately they put a quantity over quality. Why do they have the right unfortunately to kill dogs, especially that are healthy? In my opinion, especially after watching this video, I believe at the bare minimum that healthy dogs and puppies should not be killed especially the healthy ones all because of the lack of space that is wrong. Why should we have our tax dollars pay for their euthanions unnecessarily? A dog being euthanized should only happen if and only if the dog is that old and or sick and if nothing else could be done to the animal and to help take the pain away. It should be able to be individual pet owner, and if for some odd reason if it’s not a pet owner in the breeders and who ever is taking care of the animals to treat them like it’s their own pet. Aren’t there tough laws cracking down on this stuff? Then how do we know the difference between a puppy mill and a true breeder that does things right?
This kennel showed would never pass a usda or akc inspection, so they would not have breeders license. Which means they can't legally sell puppies as pets. This should be an easy fix since it's illegal...take their dogs, no questions asked.
Unfortunately it's not always that easy. Through Best Friends' puppy mill initiatives, we are working to convince pet stores to offer pets for adoption instead of selling mill-bred pets, educate consumers about puppy mills, and create and lobby for humane legislation. Together, we're making an impact and saving lives.
@@BestFriendsVideos I don't follow, care to explain why it's not that easy? Also, I get what you're doing with trying to get people to adopt. It's a great idea, but the problem I've seen is that 90% of litters born in the US are from unwanted/unplanned breedings. Most people with a bit of money that want a pet don't want some grown adult dog from a shelter, rather a health guaranteed puppy they can train and grow up with them as they like. Wouldn't it be more reasonable to pursue getting laws in place to get dogs "fixed" if they're bought as pets once they're of age after purchase? That would slow the constant stream of random mutts coming in at shelters by tenfold.

Wrong! Buy and adopt but only buy from responsible breeders! Extreme positions are what is making the problem worse! Plus even buying from a puppy mill saves the dog! I wouldn't buy it knowingly but it also allows you to investigate, just demand to see there conditions when you buy! Use your brain!
Buy them too! Some people take great care but have expenses! Some people are responsible but have puppies with high food costs because of allegies! This idea is not only flawed but drives puppy mills harder! More underground less oversight! Extreme positions cause extreme problems!
I'm tried of people talking as if they are the dog police. If you put as much energy in saving human lives or adapt your kids and stop having more kids the world would be different. No one forced you to have kids you can adapt. but your selfish and want your own kids. So cut it out
I don’t know if I believe all this. I bought a puppy from a USDA breeder and the pup has good temperament and is even mostly potty trained. There’s no way someone wasn’t spending time socializing this puppy.

This is terrible. These poor baby’s.
Thank you for making these videos and posting them. It really helps us out in the communities to work to close these inhumane breeders.
Why do the Authorities allow puppy mills to operate???
Don’t shop, adopt!
Exactly! Thanks for spreading the word about adopting and not buying a pet.
I 100 percent agree puppy mills should be illegal #adoptdontshop
If you adopt your also adopting a dog with bad habits. I prefer to shop. So shop don't adopt.
Or don't invest in an animal you can't provide for properly... This issue is consumer-side but no one wants to admit it

It sounds like USDA standards need to be raised.

Check out Goldie’s Law, currently encouraging people to contact legislators to include it in the 2023 Farm Bill - it would do just that!
