  • We have four examples of Taekwondo used in a variety of competition formats. First example is Taekwondo vs Jeet Kune Do. Second and fourth examples are Taekwondo vs MMA (Chen Yu Fei, Taiwanese Fight Commentary Breakdowns). The third example is a Taekwondo in Streetbeefs. Let's see what we can see from these matches. Either way, it's going to be awesome whenever there's a high kicks and spin kicks ;)

    Hey man, just a random comment not related to this video: keep doing what youre doing. I am really digging your videos, expecially the struggle to find the evolution of kung fu styles to hopefully be practical for reality. Sanda is great, but it mostly took from boxing and other non-kungfu styles and called in Chinese. I was hoping it would have a bit more influence from jeet kune do. But anyways, just love your stuff man… keep it up.

    Some funny fights but there were some good techniques in there. TKD has some neat moves but they need to be judicious when to use them

    That mirror room is stressing me out. One false move on either side and its seven years bad luck.

      Yeah. I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it. I was just thinking of the glass shards. And Chinese culture is superstitious so they know all about these things.

    I was called "Panda" as in reference to Kung Fu Panda when I was working as a PMC in Afghanistan. I took off my sunglasses and of course the areas around my eyes were a different shade from my face.

      @@FightCommentary Both times in Afghanistan were crazy. We made a dojo in my first time around. We taught each other. I did the JKD-Kali portion, another did BJJ, these 2 guys were Jinenkan (Bujinkan off shoot) and Bujinkan guy (both were very good). Too bad the Takumatsu-Den types don't get the credit many of them deserve. Then again it has to be earned. After the first tour of duty I did pursue Bujinkan after getting off a year worth of physical therapy. On the side note, Iraq was pretty strange too. Reality can be stranger than fiction.

    I don't like TKD tournaments they don't allow, sweeps or throws, takedowns, body slams or any punches to the face.... To me that's extremely unrealistic and teaches poor self defense habits...

      taekwondo guy here! we do punch to the face lol well, itf tkd does. In my dojang we have a part in our belts were we learn self defense ish thing, like takedowns.

      @ChrisWizzerd 3 месяца назад

      @@dominicrenoxavier2868 that's good to know, as a kenpo-est, it was a challenge to go to the TKD hosted tournaments lol, being docked a point for catching the leg and stepping in for the takedown was always frustrating as I also had a background in wrestling, so it came naturally... I do know back in the day TKD was an absolute force to be recognized among the martial arts community. I just don't know how they lost all that fire...
