- Five years have passed since Esther was chosen queen and Mordecai has been elevated to a position in the king's gate. King Ahasuerus now promotes Haman the Agagite to second in command, and everyone bows down and pays homage to him...everyone but Mordecai, who refuses because he is a Jew. Haman doesn't like this, so he devises a plot to destroy not only Mordecai, but his entire people group - the Jews.
In this Bible study on Esther chapter 3, we are going to dig into the history of the Agagites to further understand the significance of Haman's role in this story, as well as the reasoning for such antagonism toward the Jews throughout history to understand all the more God's incredible plan of deliverance that will unfold through Esther, and what it ultimately points to. 💛

I had no idea Esther was so intense. First time reading Esther. I love this book! It really teaches us to rely on GOD even when we don't think hes hearing us and when things feel like they are unfixable.

The information about the Haman being an Agagite was really interesting to me and showed me how vast the conquenses of disobedience can be (King Saul). Also how God was even in control with the lot (attack having an 11 months delay). God is so sovereign❤

Wow I thought of Daniel's friends not bowing down to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar and being thrown into the fiery furnace and then Daniel being thrown into the Lion's Den for not praying to King Darius when you mentioned Mordecai not bowing down to Haman. Thankfully God saved them as His Son later would save us from our sins through dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

Hi there, Ms. Kaci from Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. I'm new to the channel since chapter 1. I love how you literally read the scriptures and then go back and summarize the chapter. When Haman "disdained" doing something to Mordechai alone, could it not mean, just maybe that he wanted to make sure that the King had his back and agreed to his plan to get rid of all jews in the kingdom? It's just a thought, no commentary used by me.
