However the next day according to "company policy" they can only change the engine, which came as a suprise to the customer. She claimed that changing the stock engine would plummet the value. So if she came to an agreement to replace the engine, she'd buy it at a higher price than the new value of the car, which is a scam to me.
@@communistcapitalist8971 imagine you buy a brand new phone but after testing the phone malfunction instead of replacing the whole phone and asking for a new one they will just "repair" it youre buying an used phone now not a brand new one also a replaced engine can cause the value to plummet so low that no one want to buy your car

Imagine a business model so near sighted that they rather risk losing MILLIONS in bad publicity than to refund 90K on a faulty car.
It’s pretty common in China though. That’s why there is the old Chinese saying “9 out of 10 businessmen are scammers”. Although it’s getting better with more and more regulations.
@@VashtheStampede007 9 out of 10 things you buy in China are fake to begin with but for this.... well yeah, but to sell a car you should at least be trying to sell more cars.
In China it's very common to go for a lot of money now, but losing you're reputation on a long term basis. While it might seem weird for western countries, it's just part of business culture there.
@@VashtheStampede007 here's the thing - we have all heard the phrase "caveat emptor", let the buyer beware. However, this applied in pre-industrial times. Nowadays, "caveat venditor" applies - let the seller beware. Everything sold in these fast moving industrial is supposed to work - the onus is on the manufacturer/retailer to check, not the customer!
I imagine if you want to get a proper car, you'd have to have a connection with someone who actually sells cars....it would be cool if a company started a new business model with audits on their car parts and set an example for the rest of the industry to follow. But i can see this being costly and dangerous for them, bad customers could scam them saying their parts broke even though it was supposedly audited.
Which means...perhaps we need a third party auditor, where parts and such are checked by the third party who has the best interest of the customer in mind. But...i can see this failing when companies fee threatened and bribe the auditors. Really, its sad the business culture is this way. There's no trust or desire to build longstanding relationships.

I’m so proud of the commentators, it starts to show that people have become more capable of not immediately judging, in this case the Dealership or the woman, but instead looking at the scene in both possible lights or even it’s total spectrum!
Maybe there is a nearby future where a single, seemingly negative online exposure is not immediately a tragedy for parties included, because observers can hold back their judgment until all the facts are brought to light

The horror is that I don’t know how many consumers like her have not been exposed. Because of the government’s inaction, these companies are so arrogant.
RagingUtai replacing an engine on a brand new car doesn’t seem all that logical to me.should have gone for imported mercedes benz anyways
If you got a new car with a different engine then the car is not a original car.. I don’t think it is even legal in China to replace a engine..as all cars are “suppose” to be registered with the engine Serial number.. basically she is right..you can’t sell this car second hand because the whole thing is illegally fitted. Edit: just to add China has no custom car regulation, meaning mods car are basically illegal on road..
RagingUtai it’s evidently the dealer’s fault selling lemons to customers to begin with.the fact that the dealer wants the customer to take her time and go through the hassle of replacing the engine of her brand new car is utter nonsense.
RagingUtai replacing an engine takes weeks or months especially for these over engineered and computerised high end vehicles.from a consumer standpoint, would you go through the hassle and spend the time to replace the engine,ON A BRAND NEW CAR?furthermore ,would you drive a lemon with defects that require an engine replacement right out of the factory?keep in mind that she was the customer and she paid high dollar for the dealers and mercedes-benz’s services.and no ,engine problems or defects don’t just “happen” in these high end vehicles, quality control is there for a reason.in this case, the dealer should provide the customers with options that best fit to them, not their company

Cars aint snacks, they are a investment
Cars aren’t an investment. You can’t call something that loses 25% of its value once it’s driven off the lot, an investment. Only something that appreciates in value can be called an investment, like a house, or stocks that pay out dividends, and increase in value. However, a car would be considered an asset, since you could sell it for a large amount of money, just not the original price, nor a higher price.
If the person selling you a car calls it an investment, you should run for the hills and never go back.
