I think it's a great concept to have prisoners involved in this dance program -it's good therapy -it's good for the body, mind, and soul, and it's uplifting to the spirit. The dancing is something creative and productive that inmates can do together, and there is pride self-respect, and self-esteem garnered for a job well done and being part of such a great production.
Mr. Garcia, I just read where you are no longer helping these people due to politics. I'm very sorry about this. For you being unable to help and for the loss the prisoners must have felt. I know you helped lift them and pray they don't forget the humanity you showed. I imagine you also felt a loss too. I'm so sorry. Peace be with you and I pray peace for our world every day. God bless you!
@max beule some Asians really doesn’t care much about lyrics. They tend to focus on beats or the sound of the music. As opposed to westerners, lyrics sometimes see influencing. This one though is nothing to worry about.
Well here comes the very human side of prison. They seem to have more fun than anyone else. Just because they have been doing several rotten things that send them behind the bars does not mean they don't deserve to have fun like us. It's very inspirational somehow.
This is amazing. I think every prison should require dance lessons. Exercising gives you endorphons that make you feel happy. It's good for the mind and body too. It is discipline. It ch anges people.😊
I think this is awesome...eye opening....and on some level the only thing about this that surprises me is that someone thought this was possible and dared to get it started. Definitely shows true leadership potential.
Mr Robato for sure is not a Queen song. That song belongs to Styx. These inmates dance really good, and I think they all can benefit from it. What really makes me sad is the fact that they are.. a lot! I pray that GOD blesses this beautiful country. Keep up the good work!!!
More ppl in jail for minor things in the US than any other country. So I'm thinking you could. Ppl arn't all murderers, rapists or as bad as you may think.
Sarah Levesque-Hill even if they are in for minor things it’s all about dominance and if you’re in just for some thing very minor it’ll be very violent
Absolutely brilliant performance, I like how they change there formation but still keep in perfect unison.... I’m sure they must be feeling the benefits, the motivation it gives them and the dancing will keep them fit. It’s a pity that other prisons don’t take this approach....Well done...
I love these dance numbers and I always watch the entire video. I would love to see a Madonna medley. The dancer in the green tutu is super graceful!!!
This is truly year. I have lived in the Philippines since I was 12 but now I'm here in the U.S. I was born in Cebu (where the prison is) and I came back there to visit and there are many tourist from all over the world that goes by there to watch them perform. It's actually quite amazing.
One of its kind in the world!..This is a very good theraphy for all the for all the prisoners out there. Good job Mr. B. Garcia, keep it up..God bless you and your inmates..
I've watched the video dance extravaganzas from this minimum security prison in the Philippines for a number of years. I marvel at not only the dancing craft displayed (who is their choreographer????) but the passion, discipline and teamwork that must be involved. I witness individuals, no doubt with flaws, but reinventing themselves in a positive fashion - one happily embraced all who care to watch. All I can say is - bring this home. (US prisons are you watching?!
I love these videos! They have soooo much talent! Great choreography, too, in my opinion (especially assuming most didn’t grow up in dance studios). Everyone does such a great job.
Great job all!! So nice to see happy, smiling faces in an awful place. Now they can belong and kill the long boring hours with practice. Brilliant idea and keep up the good work. Those that get out can actually apply to be backup dancers. They deserve it!!!
this should be the theme song for for Noel Fielding and Russel Brand - just plain simple truth. GREAT demonstration by those who are being rehabilitated by acceptance and team work and individual self esteem.
How incredible!!! What a very constructive and innovative way to spend time incarcerated. I don't know whether to compliment cultural unity or different ways of conducting a penal institution. However it occured, it is wonderful to watch. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks for your reply. I understand your point though. In the case of these inmates, though it may not make a 100% change on how they'd live their lives after they're out from prison, at any rate, it helps them a lot in learning values, discipline, sense of brotherhood and team work that can make them a better social beings.
Byron F. Garcia originally wanted to introduce a program at Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) where inmates would exercise for an hour each day. He saw waves of prisoners in the exercise yard and thought it looked good.He also claims in a British documentary that his inspiration came while watching the movie The Shawshank Redemption in particular the scene where the sounds of Mozart's Figaro flood the prison yard.
lol omg that would be totally awesome! seriously though, i think it's so cool that these guys are disciplined enough to learn complicated dance moves. It's so fun to watch!
Such a POSITIVE and PEACEFUL message!! What an outstanding Prison Warden!!!! If you haven't seen these awesome prisoners before, PLEASE PLEASE click Byronfgarcia's page and watch 'NOBODY' or 'Tell me lies' or any of them. These guys are BRILLIANT! I love watching these!!
PARABÉNS!!! ÓTIMA ESCOLHA DAS MÚSICAS, OS DANÇARINOS ESTÃO MUITO BEM ......MARAVILHOSO!!! UMA BELA HOMENAGEM À BANDA QUEEN E UM DOS MAIORES ARTISTAS QUE TIVEMOS...MUITAS SAUDADES, CONTINUA FAZENDO MUITA FALTA PARA NOS ALEGRAR COM SUAS CANÇÕES E SUAS MIL MANEIRAS DE NOS ENTRETER!!!
Great work. Plus it has been proven that people that are imprisoned but treated with respect and given some proper activities instead of making them feel as outcasts they can go back to society without causing hassle. Kudos
Thier first CHALLENGED MICHAEL JACKSON TO OUR KING OF POP,WE REGRETS HE DIDN'T SEEN ON THE TRIBUTE OF OUR INMATES PROUD TO BE AND THEY DID WELL EXCELLENT, Breakthrough from negatives thoughts👊✌❤😊 GOD IS POWERFUL IN OUR LIFE❤IM PROUD OF YOU INMATES CEBU😊❤👏KEEP IT UP
Prison is rehabilitation, Wikipedia says; The assumption of rehabilitation is that people are not permanently criminal and that it is possible to restore a criminal to a useful life Mr Byron Gracia is just doing his job the right and unique way, that never been tried in any other prison of the world and Christian beliefs is to repent the sinner. This is one method to nuetralize their mind, then go to the next level of self reforming GOOD JOB MR BYRONFGARCIA
You are all a Worldwide Phenomenon! I can only imagine all the hard work in planning and producing this performance! A suggestion for future productions: more camera angles or points of view during the performance would give more dynamism for editing in post production. Keep up all the great work!
This is awesome, if we could get them doing this in our young offenders institutes maybe they would challenge eachother through dance rather than with knives
I am sorry to learn that politics got in the way of your redemptive rehabilitation program .... I still hope & pray for the betterment of the inmates' well-being even without your philosophy.
3:04 the I want to break free chick/dude in the key in the orange fufu thing is the one that played the girl in the thriller video dance. Dude is song a lots of time sustenon. He's still in this group. Lol. And an awesome dancer
good stuff man. they must have done at least twice because it the close up shots the drag in blue is wearing chucks, but has heels on in the up high shots.
I'm in complete awe... amazing work. They obviously work hard. I watched the first videos added, and compared to the ones from the last year. The energy has changed, as have the expressions on thier faces. There is pride in the work they have put into these routines. Two questions: How long does it take a new inmate to "get into the grove"? And what happens to them once they leave (are there any who relapse)?
Break free from lost opportunity, stigma and their own mind that keep telling them their lives are over. In fact human kindness, tolerance and compassion can do miracles.

+Diane Eggert Hayes It would certainly be nice if they did more to change the mind of criminals by doing such things!
I agree, liked their team work.

"I want to break free"'? Is it a good idea?
maybe in a different sense as break free from being bad!!
max beule yeah
@max beule some Asians really doesn’t care much about lyrics. They tend to focus on beats or the sound of the music. As opposed to westerners, lyrics sometimes see influencing. This one though is nothing to worry about.
i think they predicted rami malek in Bohemian rhapsody, having an allusion to a Mr. Roboto, in a queen medley...hmmmm illuminatti
Kronos199 Shane Dawson hey guys 😂
those three guys in the tutus did an amazing job
True
Agreed
The three guy is gay...they are dancer
They are women. They're trans women
i’m watching this 10 years later and this made my day !! 😂
Well here comes the very human side of prison. They seem to have more fun than anyone else. Just because they have been doing several rotten things that send them behind the bars does not mean they don't deserve to have fun like us. It's very inspirational somehow.
*i didn't even know this existed in my country. what.*
*the philippines are weird but good*
If I ever went to prison, I would want to go to one like this
Paula Mendoza
Its in the Philippines, good luck breaking a law there.
You dont need effort to get arrested there... Unless Duterte is still in office then that’ll be way easier!
Okay but why does this make me so happy?
I want to break free haahhahahahaahahhahaahhahahahahahahaha
ODORIZZI XD
This is amazing. I think every prison should require dance lessons. Exercising gives you endorphons that make you feel happy. It's good for the mind and body too. It is discipline. It ch

Freddie would’ve been so proud 🖤💛😭😭😭
Hope that this prisoners if they go out theyll be productive in life
I think this is awesome...eye opening....and on some level the only thing about this that surprises me is that someone thought this was possible and dared to get it started. Definitely shows true leadership potential.

lmfao you can't ask prisoners in the US to dance like this. there'll be riot that would turn into a bloodbath before they can even do this. :)
More ppl in jail for minor things in the US than any other country. So I'm thinking you could. Ppl arn't all murderers, rapists or as bad as you may think.
Lol tootsie|troll
Sarah Levesque-Hill even if they are in for minor things it’s all about dominance and if you’re in just for some thing very minor it’ll be very violent
tootsie|troll® isn’t this an irony in itself-more richer and advanced the country the more convoluted mindset it becomes.
You can. With the rule that anyone who will not dance will be shot on the foot.
Absolutely brilliant performance, I like how they change there formation but still keep in perfect unison....
I’m sure they must be feeling the benefits, the motivation it gives them and the dancing will keep them fit.
It’s a pity that other prisons don’t take this approach....Well done...
Breaktrhu and I Want To Break Free. Prisioners sing and dance.
*872 deaths*
I love these dance numbers and I always watch the entire video. I would love to see a Madonna medley.
The dancer in the green tutu is super graceful!!!
Bravo, Mr. Garcia. You have great insight into human nature!!!
This is great how you have brought this program to the prisoners to give them something to focus on and be proud of.
This is truly year. I have lived in the Philippines since I was 12 but now I'm here in the U.S. I was born in Cebu (where the prison is) and I came back there to visit and there are many tourist from all over the world that goes by there to watch them perform. It's actually quite amazing.

this is really amazing work with the inmates, probably the most positive work I have ever seen for inmates ever! Keep up the good works!
I've watched the video dance extravaganzas from this minimum security prison in the Philippines for a number of years. well said byron! keep up the good work and thanks for sharing with us!
what an awesome rehabilitation programme, love it!!! WELL DONE GUYS.
I love these videos! They have soooo much talent! Great choreography, too, in my opinion (especially assuming most didn’t grow up in dance studios). Everyone does such a great job.
except for the fact that you could tell it was 2 takes cuz the one in blue is wearing differing shoes....really good
Eh mirado este video varias veces y me encanta gracias por compartir a todos desde Los Angeles California ♥ 😄
Love the CPDRC dance program!♥️
No...that's Queen singing, although Styx did originally write it.
Great job all!! So nice to see happy, smiling faces in an awful place. Now they can belong and kill the long boring hours with practice. Brilliant idea and keep up the good work. Those that get out can actually apply to be backup dancers. They deserve it!!!

AWESOME!You guys are so talented and amazing...
this is a tribute to the queen, they dance for a good cause. and Freddy Mercury was gay too, so no problem with the girl clothes either
this should be the theme song for for Noel Fielding and Russel Brand - just plain simple truth.
As usual, I'm proud of these guys. This is such a great program. I always look forward to being entertained by them!
Thanks for your reply. I understand your point though. Such a shame politics got in the way ....(as usual) and you left... ....i hope they managed to carry on this dance project x
Bravo! I am amazed by such hard work. Well done. Terrific music too. An 8-minute impressive feat. I love it. Courage pour la suite.
Congrats (again) from Brazil!!!
Your Work is very very good to all world.
Every prisons should do that, I think it can change people to make them love something like that. They obviously look happy to do that.
Such a great program! Keep it up guys :)
Those inmates are in awesome shape. That has to be an excellent workout program. Great job.
Byron F. Garcia originally wanted to introduce a program at Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) where inmates would exercise for an hour each day. 'I Want to Break Free', the perfect song for inmates dont you think?
This is do well done. Therapeutic. Talented people, wasted their lives, not knowing what kind of capabilities they have.
lol omg that would be totally awesome! seriously though, i think it's so cool that these guys are disciplined enough to learn complicated dance moves. It's so fun to watch!
Best video yet. Too bad no other prisons are competing. You're the best.
They are finally doing something good in their lives.. ^_^ I'm proud!!
Such a POSITIVE and PEACEFUL message!! What an outstanding Prison Warden!!!!
