Gary Mcguckin Just by the sound of how mad you are I can tell you live such a miserable life. He will go to the grave a GOOD & HAPPY father knowing he tried his best to be with his family. Go do something with your life and try to make yourself proud.
Bias, tends to happen when your dad is the illegal. I did a double take when he said “I’ll probably hide from immigration if they don’t extend my stay” like dude… that’s what got you in this situation to begin with 😭 why don’t they just move to Mexico with him? Also if he really came here for his kids they’re already US citizens. Seems like they are thriving here, his job is done.
Autumn Rios ,I agree, an as a afro american I say to u ,whites have separated black families for hundreds of years during da slavery era,we as afro American's knows an been there so we as afro American's understand an feel they're pain .
Michael Lagrone The difference is that black people didn't choose to come to the U.S., these people are making the choice to come illegally. They bear full responsibility for whatever happens to their families.
I believe I understood one father to say he has tried to get citizenship for 17 years but was denied. I find that quite difficult to believe. The daughter stated that her dad is not a criminal. As the man stated, your dad came into America illegally and that is a crime and I feel quite sure the daughter knows exactly what that means.
They know what it means. They were hoping our government would let it slide. There are many more like just like this that have not been caught yet. I do feel sorry for these families but they all know the consequences of be deported when they step across illegally over the border.
If he came in illegally 10 minutes ago, or 10 years ago doesn't matter. He still came illegally, and was caught. He must have considered that possibility when coming here. That's the risk. If he wants to keep his family together they can stay together. Breaking them up is his choice.
@ Alex Plummer: I guess we are that smart -- we've finally had enough of this free loading crap and voted in a president that will FINALLY DO THE WILL of the people! Trump came in -- he was not a politician. He didn't need all of the bribes and donations of millions of dollars. He has his own money -- doesn't need his palm greased by special interests groups, foreign governments who want to pay in advance for favors. Trump didn't need to figure out more ways to tax American's and the small business men and he's doing all he can to get American businesses to come back from other countries! American's have smartened up! It took us a while -- but we're getting there!
Do I judge him for wanting a better life for his family? No. Do I think this is sad? Yes. Should he still be deported? Yes. These stories are really sad, but we can't let public policy be decided by personal stories. No one is entitled to live in the United States, or any other country. Immigration should happen trough proper legal channels. That way a migrant from El Salvador does not have an advantage over one from Ukraine or one from Brazil (my homeland), just becuase that country is closer to the US. If you want more immigration, then push to expand the legal immigration, but anyone who enters illegaly should be kicked out, specially if they came as adults.
Beerus He made a good statement. And at the end of the day the immigation dude is right. The act of illegal immigation is still a crime and all crimes are subject to enforcement action.
President Togekiss I grew up in a predominantly Mexican-and-Polish-American neighborhood, and they're probably the biggest opposers of illegal immigration. There's nothing more frustrating than working so hard for so long only to see someone else cheat the system. I agree that immigration needs to be easier (If you aren't a criminal and you benefit the US by working and paying taxes, you should be eligible.) but we shouldn't have sympathy for those breaking the law and devaluing the efforts of millions of deserving permanent residents.
President Togekiss he should not be deported, It's not illegal going in to America for a better life It's illegal for wanting this White people are not from here. Before white people came, Mexico use to be part of America. Now today, white people kick out Mexicans Wtf just happened
Before being so blunt I encourage you to understand the reasons for migration. Some of them include civil wars, armed conflicts, dictatorships, political persecution, gang violence, famine, starvation, lack of opportunity-some of these are the effects of US intervention. There are a lot of people who, like you say, enter illegally the US, but for most this is their only option. It's either that or death. Coming from Central America myself I can tell you that, if Juan ends up getting deported, he'll face extreme violence in El Salvador, violence that it's an effect of a terrible Civil War that, you guessed it, was supported by US officials. The United States is not the pull factor of migration. Violence in Central American countries is the push factor today. The US has to face the responsibilities of the violence they helped produce in Central America.
1961cabjr El Salvador isn't exactly family friendly. Especially to new people coming into neighborhoods infested with M.S. Young women aren't safe there either.
penosa24 yes it's sad but understand that there are many people that have been waiting for years waiting to come to the USA how is it fair to them and why should the ones that broke the law be rewarded If they don't like their country then why not go to South America or to a country that will let them in Legally
1961cabjr r u not understanding that the only people complaining about how it’s unfair for illegals to come to America are the ones that are citizens? Because I’ve never once heard someone in line for papers complain.
Alicia Valdez Well I have heard it many times first hand I have been to most of all Central America except Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and I have helped many get a Visa with great success Just look at it this way You are waiting in line for an hour to see a movie and the theater is giving away popcorn, soda and a $20 gift card to the first 20 in line and all of a sudden you see or hear that some people are breaking in line or getting in through a side door and when it's your turn in line they tell you that they are sold out That may upset you a little bit
Some people think about this as a solution but many parents want what's best for their children, a better life. Mexico does not have the best education systems that is why many people come to america
I understand that we have laws, and I am not saying that they should be an exception because many other great families have suffered as well. All I'm saying is that any one of us could have been in their shoes, So there's no need to be disgusting or mean about it. They're already dealing with enough. That's all.
hellyeah662 So I'm guessing you are one of those haters, is that it!? I don't agree with illegals either, but I don't need to be disgusting about it. Would your hate or bullying help?! No! Be grateful you are not in their shoes.
Illegally undocumented means no social security number to file the big/main tax called INCOME TAX. they get K-12 schooling, ER care, 911, roads, etc. while getting paid cash under the table illegally. The ones who do ID theft and use stolen SS numbers qualify for extra benefits that outweigh the taxes they pay. their income is so low they pay NEGATIVE taxes (tax credits).
Asking Mexicans and Central Americans who think laws don't apply to them to think logically and plan ahead is like hoping they'll stop being delusional liars, cheaters and corrupt.
And you wonder why their country are so mess up. I mean considering that Mexico is like 6 times the size of Korea and Japan and Vietnam and yet so dumb.
Foreign Express So a new born Mexican is responsible for the politics of his ancestors in Mexico? Why can't the new born Mexican qualify to come to the US if he works extremely hard his whole life? There is no way to immigrate to the US legally for 99.999999% of Mexicans.
Why should Mexicans get priority over everyone else? You do realize that there are a lot of people in third world countries that also have a 99.999999% chance as well right? Are you saying that Mexicans happiness and lives matter over them? Do you not see that for every illegal that is able to become U.S citizen, they rob other legal immigrants who been waiting for "years"? How is that fair? You and your people are basically stealing other people's opportunity to be here by breaking the law. And about your question. Life is unfair. You think it fair for me to leave my whole families behind because of communism? You think it fair that I had to deal with racism and bullying by your PEOPLE? You think its fair that millions of kids die for no reason off their own? You do not get priority over everyone else. Everyone has it tough not just you and some countries have it a lot tougher than Mexico. Look at North Korea for example. What rights do you and your people have in taking away other people chances?
Well stealing money from the bank makes you a leech. He did come here illegally but contributed more than most Americans on welfare do all without help of the state.
As a US citizen I believe no, we need a new system of immigration and how it's done. I know i my heart that breaking up a family is WRONG and SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE!
What we need as people is for our government to do a part of their job that they have so well forgotten, and that's to listen to us the people who trusted them to protect us and our country.
Now if they keep ignoring the problem the suffering and heart ache that they have caused wont stop until they stop and just listen to the voices that need their help the most.
Joseph Francis Burton how about the fact that 93% of small businesses are started by immigrants? Or that many immigrants pay taxes on someone else’s ssn, so not only are they paying taxes, but not receiving any benefits from it. Then there is the truth that Americans do not want to work immigrant’s jobs. A farmer held an event called “come take our jobs” where he offered the job to people. Their questions? “Is the field air conditioned?” “How much will I get paid” there was an American who refused because he didn’t want to give up his disability from a knee surgery he was healed from. I would much rather have hard working immigrants over these entitled and willfully arrogant citizens.
@Arial The term illegal never occurs to you libs isn't it? the usage of false security number is a crime most illegals do normally. Crossing border without papers is a crime. There is no issue if people come in legally. Its the illegals, and bringing their relatives(illegally) who are economically incompetent along with them that's the problem.
Obama was a giant (and expensive) Don't Poster for how not to run a country. DACA is not constitutional. If his goal was to diminish and put us in debt, mission accomplished. If he actually intended to lead us to something greater, he failed. Obama not only broke his promise to cut the deficit he doubled it. Obama hated this country. And DACA was just another way he proved it. They are illegal aliens They have NO DOCUMENTS that give them any right to live here. I'm in favor of bringing the best talents and some refugees to America, but when it comes to opportunities for work, school and life my motto is Make Americans FIRST
Things need to change and stop this broken system, stop saying they do the jobs other won't do that is not true..unless you mean they will work for less and this hurts all people.
vanity u dont see black people or white working out in the fields from sunrise to sunset picking vegetables and fruits everyone buys at the super market do u ?? only Mexicans do that kind of hard work others who are born in USA asking for money in the streets for their beer and drugs , if all Mexicans were deported it would effect the grocery stores the landscaping, the house painting the roofers and so many
Em71D What about our system do you think needs to be fixed? The way I see it, we just need to build a border wall and make it easier for ICE to detain and deport illegals.
He entered ILLEGALLY. If it was legal, he wouldn't go through this issue along with his family. He should have done what he could to make it right but he just waited and left the issue alone for too long. That's what happens.
Re: left the issue alone for too long. Procrastination doesn’t pay. A person need to be responsible for its own behavior. A law doesn’t bend for anyone unless that person is a Clinton or Comey.
They come to make money at first and then they get thirsty , they can't save enough money to go back home because they have two or three driving while intoxicated convictions and now their screwed because now they can't drive and work , now they get their wife to work and their kids if their old enough while the father has this huge alcohol problem etc etc etc etc.
Ohlongjohnson Fan they are illegal and share Spanish blood which means they are part European meaning not native. This country has government and laws it did not back then there was no such thing as illegal immigration back then
She and her sisters, as well as their mother, are US Citizens. She cannot do anything for him until she turns 21 but if he gets deported, he will have to wait 10 years before reapplying to enter the country legally.
In my opinion, he reported in regularly so why did they wait so long to deport him? They waited until a new presidential term to do their job? They should have done it years ago before he stayed a good 10+ years. Who's to blame? The ones signing his stay. Maybe by the time his daughter turned 21 and his 10 year penalty passed it would give his daughter better chances of sponsoring him. Hang in there families. God is on your side. Believe this. Good luck.
*Island Girl* She won't be able to because they are going to end chain-migration so she is screwed. Even if she is able to file for her father she can only become a citizen in 12 years and 2 or 3 years more for the process to go though we are talking about 15 years. Her father will be very old or dead by then. Republicans have everything very well figured out.
We all have hearts. We don’t want any families to be broken up. But the immigration laws have to be enforced. It’s easy to say, “Let them stay, keep families together and let them cross the border illegally. “ but what is your strategy for the country to function effectively?
It’s the dad’s fault. Why would he raise his kids in a country he came here illegally to? It’s not the governments fault, it’s not ICE’s fault this is HIM
What did he have to lose by following the law. Nothing. Sorry but is it fair for a tax payers to fund his daughters education. If we let everyone in like this, we would crumble. Follow the law.
Sergio Ramirez false. Unless he has a fake ss number he isnt paying payroll taxes. His daughter received a public education. What was he paying sales tax?
If his daughter is a legal resident, then it shouldn't be a problem for her to visit her family whenever she wants to.when you are in a foreign country, we have to abide by the rules of that country.one has no choice, it is the universal truth
the sad thing is that the parent broke the law and thought that's ok, the child also has no respect to the laws, claiming her dad did nothing wrong, even though she was raised in the US. Entering the US illegally is a crime.
chippledon1 you hear what they did to sneak into America and how they work for pennies on the dollar while here and it becomes apparent that if all these cowards gang together rather than fleeing then they could improve their Nations. Instead of holding their own accountable they sneak here and expect unlimited empathy from us.
Their government is selfish and the violent is dangerous. There are few jobs and a lot of people are poor. While here, the jobs are better paid and are few violent
well, my parents tried, they were really poor in Peru and studied hard and got into college in their own country, but they want more for me and I do too. maybe you don't understand that because you are from the US, I went there 4 times to do tourism and it was amazing. Im scared but i want to study there, I want more for my future, I want to study there and take all that knowledge to Peru and change the situation here. It is just something humane you know im trying to explain the feel but idk if you understand what is being from a third world country
do you think people choose to leave, some are from El Salvador, Syria, other countries that are unsafe, have you seen Venezuela? I have family that live there legally and already made a life, its like their country now sorry. But a lot of people dont like to move and do it because of safety and they want to go back.
If someone, who was poor and starving, robbed a bank to survive, people would want them arrested because that is against the law. However, if someone, who was poor and starving, came to this Country illegally to survive, people would want them left alone? You can't justify illegal acts. If you're not happy with the law, then vote for change. I do feel for this family, but ultimately the blame lies with the father and his actions, not the system.
The “only” crime you committed is not like jay walking or littering! You broke an immigration law!!! You should have come in LEGALLY like many of us did. Go back and reapply to return to the country.
Laws need to be changed. What other country can you break into, then receive healthcare, education, food, & housing from cradle to grave -- all at tax-payer expense? Maybe if there were no incentives, the problem might be solved. Meanwhile, those here legally having a hard time paying for private schools because the public ones have been destroyed by MS-13 & their ilk. With all that $$ going to education, housing, food, & healthcare for illegals -- what's leftover for citizens in need?
Laws are laws for a reason. Countries have borders and immigration processes for a reason. You come in illegally, you will be treated as a foreign squatter and will be sent back to your home country. Simple as that. You could argue that perhaps the immigration system should be made easier or should change, but you can't argue that sending illegal immigrants back is wrong, because then you are arguing against all forms of law.
Rudy C I would not have any second thought calling you people animals considering how you turned places y'all come from into shithole we get the worst from this invading horde bringing wreck and ruin into our country I'm a law and order man there is a line don't cross it you animal
I'm a legal immigrants and I say, its about time they enforce the law. If my family had to get in line so should everybody else. I feel sorry for this family but the dad should have done it the right way.
America is so great that they don't turn away Anchor babies although we definitely should. Also if I committed fraud to get a better life but was really nice about it should I expect to not get punished? Is that the gist of your statement?
On a certain level, what is going to happen to this gentleman is unfortunate. Admittedly he broke the law by crossing into the uS illegally, but he has worked hard to be successful and has a good family. However, what is missing in this report is did Mr. Rodriguez make an effort to get his papers to remain in the country legally? If not, why? If so, what happened? That is the problem with reports like this since this more of an attempt to pull at heartstrings more than it is to report the important issues related to illegal immigration. By not getting his papers, Mr. Rodriguez, not US immigration law, has inflicted this quandry on his family and, sadly, come January his daughters will be without a father.
Being arrested and being put into jail is different you still get to see them ! Breaking up families is different , putting them into camps separating kids from their parents is not right ! There is a complete difference .
This was a really well shot documentary. Got to say, the immigration spokesman wasnt afraid to speak. The dad is from El Salvador which is essentially a warzone. I feel bad from him and family.
My taxes beg to differ. That said, I welcome path to citizenship for all those who seek to assimilate. I'm not down with merely exercising economic opportunism however, and that's a two way street btw. I levy the same harsh criticism of the red states that spew racist rethortic but then turn around and foster illegal hiring of these worker under the table because it suits their bottom line. Incredible hypocrisy.
Indyfalcon Isn't that a contradiction? You welcome a path to citizenship but don't want people here for economic opportunities. Like: I want you to be legal but I don't want you to come here.
That's not what I'm saying at all. There is a difference between the mindset of a permanent migrant worker, and that of a citizen. I don't want folks cycling around this Country without a deeper sense of commitment than the availability of economic opportunity. Judging by the advent of reverse migration when the labor market (circa 2012) is in the dumps, it is clear this cohort, specifically Mexicans due to proximity to their home Country, has a significantly lower rate of assimilation than other immigrant populations. Couple that with a perversion of the 14th amendment, and you have a strictly opportunistic dynamic that wasn't present in earnest in immigrant populations of past. I live (military assignment) in the TX MX border, I see that manifestation every day. Do all mexican immigrants display that behavior? Of course not.
Indyfalcon so pretty much, you would like English speaking farm workers. I doubt the farm owners will require that for working in their fields. Besides, people with a high enough IQ to learn a second language will not seek farm work.
These people have a country and should start a revolution in their country to get their land back grow food and build up their homes. Our young American men fought for America. These men look awful strong and complain about families breaking apart. Well let them go fight and all these families could be together again, dont blame America for this, its your countrys fault, so go fight for your country and land where you will all be happy.
The daughter is wrong. We have a President that does not want "illegal" immigrants, not immigrants. How convenient she leaves out the word illegal. Hispanics SUPPORTRUMPENCE!
I am Mexican, I live in Mexico City, I do not get mad at the Americans for sending him back, you enter someone else country without permission what did you expect?
These are not just the immigration policies of President Trump, these are our immigration laws, voted on by Congress and signed into law. These laws have been changed over the years; it is not as if we are stuck with draconian laws. Our immigration laws have been revised in '65, '76, '80, '86, '90, '96, '98, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006.
My dad became a resident then he went to Mexico to make us residents he made the best choice to me he was responsible as a parent now we are all us citizen thanks to PaPa now I'm getting my husband's papers so we will never have a problem like this.
I feel bad for him and his family! But at the same time he should have followed the law of this country. Most of our forefathers and fathers and us are immigrants. Everyone followed the rules to enter this great nation! There is nothing wrong to dream a good life, but it is wrong to make it happen in an illegal way.
There are many people doing illegal things but do you see anything happening to them? No you don’t. Until you are in the shoes of the girl then you can’t be talking.
Maliyah Cartwright thats right i so much agree with u people love to judge but they worry about immigrant but aint trying to find these lost children how about these muders they love to talk about immigration they need to find these robbers missing children. And missing people how about these gangs they not trying to remove the real problem.
The police can't catch everyone doing illegal things, but if someone is going to come into a country illegally then they should not be allowed in the country. Yes it's sad, but when you get caught for breaking the law there are consequences.
I understand what he did was illegal, but if he has a clean record, and his sole purpose was to come to the states to see his family and provide for them, how is this bringing more of the attention to the police than the citizens of the country doing mass killings in schools? Yes, they will bring up 9/11 EVERY SINGLE time this argument is brought up, but I can't string around my head how they focus on immigrants rather than their OWN PEOPLE and fixing their country and it's citizens problem. This broke my heart for all the families that are separated through this course of action.
They are basically cutting in line AND not paying. Thats disruptive to any society as it causes order to break down. There are MILLIONS of immigrants waiting in line for their turn to enter the country. Why do they matter less than the people who just let themselves in NOT going through the legal process? I think youll find that legal immigrants dont like illegals either, as illegals undermine everything they worked to achieve. This is how every country works. You dont get to just let yourself in and do whatever. The United States is no different.
david williams, do you feel better about yourself, now? yes, because a spelling error completely renders his very clear point incomprehensible, you petty princess...
He is married to an American so An applicant for naturalization after three years of marriage to a U.S. citizen must meet the following citizenship requirements: Be at least 18 years old. ... Be a permanent resident (green card holder) for at least 3 years. ... Have been living with your U.S. citizen spouse for at least 3 years.
I definitely have great compassion for these families, but when the family members gets deported (like the father) it might be a good idea to go back to that country to keep the family together. I just watched a good story about people voluntarily returning to Mexico and it turning out good.
Anecdotes are not worthless. Public policy is based on what our country's story or narration is. This an example of a person who would qualify to apply for citizenship in my view. Notwithstanding Mr. Rodriguez's crossing the border, he and others like him who want nothing more than to live and work in the U.S. need to have a way to apply and get approved for citizenship. Immigration reform should be about fixing this problem. However, if you further break U.S. law along the process that should disqualify you from consideration. We have had a problem of an open border and this has created this situation.
I don't believe any race is more special than the other. Government and big agriculture have made it possible for the illegal immigration to exist in the first place, i.e. cheap labor. And by government, I mean that Congress looks the other way to supply the cheap labor. Porous or non existent borders have been in existence by design. Right? Ok. So mass deportations of more than 11 million people is impractical and illogical especially since the United States has been complicit in this farce that is called border security. That being said, as a measure of goodwill, we take into account children and the young who have a future and want a future in the U.S. DACA in particular should be a one-time deal to amend this problem. The people roughly 35 years and younger who either have a legitimate business or who are already in college because they were encouraged to follow their "dreams." Yes, all of us are dreamers. If Democrats want to make DACA a perpetual item then I say, NO! So, it's not entirely a Mexican problem, but rather a one that the U.S. had a direct hand in exploiting. Yes, I mean exploiting. Taking advantage of brown people for cheap labor and not caring whether they got caught up in the so-called immigration process. By the way, what immigration reform means to me is building the wall high and thick so no one else enters the U.S. illegally. I'm a second generation American of Mexican descent who has two college degrees, salutes the COLORS, and voted AND contributed to the election of Donald J. Trump.
Then Mexico and Guatemala are to blame for having a strategic plan to export their poor. These parents committed a crime, if their children pay so be it. You are correct government looked the other way. Unfortunately those days are now gone, Trump is enforcing current immigration law he is NOT inventing new immigration laws.. These children need to hate their criminal parents not America....
Roberto Martinez here's the reform go back to your country and get in line and apply to reenter the United States you don't get to come here cross our borders illegally and then get rewarded simply by asking because you've been here so long sneaking around without getting caught there is no statute of limitations on being an illegal immigrant we don't grandfather people into American citizenship cause you dodged the authorities for so long STUPID
This is what breaking people hearts that the good are punishment with the bad I'm so sorry my God I'm crying now why this is happening to you why didn't you try to get legal while you were HERE my God I'll pray for you

I totally understand the girls point but I also understand the officers. He broke the law coming in here. He isn't a criminal in my book nor his family's, but yes in the U.S. government. I hope things change for all these broken up families.
Mexico has one of the toughest most racist immigration policies on planet earth, they basically hace no immigrants, the only ones they let stay are people from Europe. (I am not kidding, look it up) *MEXICANS ARE THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITES ON PLANET EARTH*
kuman30 The United states has a long history of intervening in other nations; in the name of democracy, they manipulate affairs and ravage nations to their benefit. If you want people out your country, keep out of theirs!
Sucks to say but at 10:18 I started to tear up *Watery eyes*. As a father who's been there for his family and came to u.s illegally but not only to have a better life but to know his family comes first. As he gets to watch his daughter graduate is why he moved to America so his kids can pursue into something and know nothing is impossible but yet anything is possible if we all "Try"... Other than that the law is the law and we must all follow the LAW..........
Well, if they love each other so much why don't they all go with Daddy?? Make a family business or something? As we this I just don't understand? He's probably not going to come back so they all need to be together back in there country!! Why is this so hard for people to understand
Crossing the border illegally -for the first time, still, it is an administrative violation. Working with a fake/somebody else's social security number is a felony, so is evade taxes. So, in short, crossing the border illegally is "not his only fault".
Please, understand how desperate we are, why can’t you demonstrate some empathy for some immigrants?! You’d probably do the same EXACT thing , don’t lie to yourself and say you wouldn’t escape a horrible country to protect your loved ones.
So is it possible for him to come back? Because if he willingly leaves, there is that possibility of him being able to re-enter the country legally. But if you're deported you're barred from coming back in for a period of time. It could be 5-20 years, all the way up to a permanent ban.
Darlene Castillo they are here to imposed themselves on other people ESL makes English the second language thats why you are always pressing 2 for English

@Jaylene. If he wanted to the best for his family, like you say, then he should have immigrated to this country lawfully.

honestly 😔 going to jail is nothing compared to being forced to go back to another country where they will most likely have to start over

if you love your dad go with him ..i would do so

How is it that this young lady educated in this country does not understand the term illegal

He must have considered that possibility when coming here.
That's the risk.
If he wants to keep his family together they can stay together.
Breaking them up is his choice.
I agree.
Yea but we’re he came from it’s horrible and everyday u have a high chance of dying so risky everything is worth it to come to he U.S
Facts before feelings!
They NEVER admit that they broke the law.
Every country enforces its borders
herewegokids7 yeah every smart country apparently we are not that smart
Every first world country enforces its borders. Nobody is breaking into Brazil. First world countries have fake fears.
It took us a while -- but we're getting there!
herewegokids7 the chicken has come home to roost for this people
Mona V can you please explain how immigrants are as you can them “free loaders” really curious. 🤔
I pray for your family. I hope you guys get reunited.
The good thing is she's a college graduate so she can go with him too Mexico and get a really good job take care of them
No one can get those besides drug trafficers and corrupted politicians.
I live in Mexico. I earn goog salary.and i don't like USA.
He’s not even Mexican lmfao
President Togekiss Well said!! I feel sorry for him and his family but at the same time he needs to be held accountable for breaking the law
President Togekiss he should not be deported,
It's not illegal going in to America for a better life
It's illegal for wanting this
White people are not from here.
Before white people came, Mexico use to be part of America.
Now today, white people kick out Mexicans
Wtf just happened
Don't breakup your family
Take them back with you
They can come back whenever they want
1961cabjr El Salvador isn't exactly family friendly. Especially to new people coming into neighborhoods infested with M.S. Young women aren't safe there either.
penosa24 yes it's sad but understand that there are many people that have been waiting for years waiting to come to the USA how is it fair to them and why should the ones that broke the law be rewarded
If they don't like their country then why not go to South America or to a country that will let them in Legally
1961cabjr r u not understanding that the only people complaining about how it’s unfair for illegals to come to America are the ones that are citizens? Because I’ve never once heard someone in line for papers complain.
Alicia Valdez Well I have heard it many times first hand
I have been to most of all Central America except Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and I have helped many get a Visa with great success
Just look at it this way
You are waiting in line for an hour to see a movie and the theater is giving away popcorn, soda and a $20 gift card to the first 20 in line and all of a sudden you see or hear that some people are breaking in line or getting in through a side door and when it's your turn in line they tell you that they are sold out
That may upset you a little bit
Some people think about this as a solution but many parents want what's best for their children, a better life. Mexico does not have the best education systems that is why many people come to america
Thanks the US taxpayers who paid between $10,000 and $17,000 per year for her K-12 education.
YEP
Jeanne90275 smh
You're acting like they lived their whole lives with tax-exempt status everywhere they went/did.
That is awesome she is majoring in Civil Engineering!!
It's heartbreaking that her father is not there.
Natalia Anglero I feel no pity for either of them there is a process
So sorry! Such a strong girl. Can't imagine being in her shoes. Comment section is full of cold hearted haters. They should be ashamed of themselves!
Make Mexico great again.
The law is the law, We cannot let some and not others.......that would be cruel..He knew the law.....and he broke it......
The 13Th .....no we have laws .you break the Law you pay .stop the bleedng heart !!
Ppl are so rude, they don't take nothing from yall, leave them alone and let them live here.
t a x m o n e y
Lola Hatsana everyone pays taxes (doesn’t matter if you are undocumented)
Illegally undocumented means no social security number to file the big/main tax called INCOME TAX. they get K-12 schooling, ER care, 911, roads, etc. while getting paid cash under the table illegally.
The ones who do ID theft and use stolen SS numbers qualify for extra benefits that outweigh the taxes they pay. their income is so low they pay NEGATIVE taxes (tax credits).
Undocumented people still pay for income taxes
why ignore my facts? why just repeat your comment as if that will make it true or believable
If you broke the law a decade ago you're still going to jail.
Like you did rolling through that stop sign? You know you rolled through it too. I'm taking your daughter away as punishment.
Rudy C that is how jail works, they separate you from your family.
Rudy C that's a silly argument man
Mike C
Why is wanting to have a better life, illegal?
framing hanley13245 it’s not crossing the border illegally is though
Hey mister, you state that your only crime was crossing illegally! Well, that is a huge crime. If you are not legal, good-bye Charlie!
My parents had me AFTER they got their green cards for this very reason.
Asking Mexicans and Central Americans who think laws don't apply to them to think logically and plan ahead is like hoping they'll stop being delusional liars, cheaters and corrupt.
How did they get their green cards?
What rights do you and your people have in taking away other people chances?
these are the kinds of videos that I wish the commenting was blocked because people just say the most heartbreaking things.
Props to Times for not disabling comments I was very much expecting that.
So ..if I rob a bank and give someone the money ..can they keep it?
Well stealing money from the bank makes you a leech. He did come here illegally but contributed more than most Americans on welfare do all without help of the state.
@Gary Mcguckin Yet somehow life goes on.
Each one of us had our own story to tell. WHY NOT DO IT LEGALLY?
Kern Smith kern WHITE NAME
Why didn’t the father just file for “ permanent resident status” which is the conduit to full citizenship? He put his daughter in this predicament.
Anecdotes are worthless as arguments in establishing public policy. You can find a heart tugging anecdote to push any agenda in the world.
Arial Slater so there is the fact yes they commit identity theft, and falsify federal documents. Both of which are federal crimes.
mike taylor A felony donation to the US government? Are you seriously complaining about taking money from them?
Rudy C guess you havent had your identity stolen and had to deal with that circus.
I'm in favor of bringing the best talents and some refugees to America, but when it comes to opportunities for work, school and life my motto is Make Americans FIRST
Very tough situation to be in! SAD 😢
Sorry kid, but your dad is a criminal
Right
Things need to change and stop this broken system, stop saying they do the jobs other won't do that is not true..unless you mean they will work for less and this hurts all people.
vanity u dont see black people or white working out in the fields from sunrise to sunset picking vegetables and fruits everyone buys at the super market do u ?? only Mexicans do that kind of hard work others who are born in USA asking for money in the streets for their beer and drugs , if all Mexicans were deported it would effect the grocery stores the landscaping, the house painting the roofers and so many
@@Mely2.2 There is something called the H-2A visa program for agricultural workers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-2A_visa
The only person to be blamed is Juan Rodriguez. He came in this country illegally and put his family through all this trouble.
because he wanted a better life........something humane, you should learn about empathy lol
Em71D Appeals to emotion are not arguments. He entered this country illegally and has nobody but himself to blame for it.
there are a lot of illegal immigrants for a reason.......fix your system.........lol
Em71D What about our system do you think needs to be fixed? The way I see it, we just need to build a border wall and make it easier for ICE to detain and deport illegals.
Malick Fan walls are easy to get though. Spending money on a wall is pointless 🤦♂️ are you racist?
He entered ILLEGALLY. If it was legal, he wouldn't go through this issue along with his family. He should have done what he could to make it right but he just waited and left the issue alone for too long. That's what happens.
music it is not his fault, that white people killed and stole Native land and now act like Mexicans r "illegal"
This country has government and laws it did not back then there was no such thing as illegal immigration back then
Ok, so if you let your drivers license expire I am taking your daughter away from you. Fair?
Become citizens and file for your father.
Island Girl my thoughts exactly.
Sorry island girl but it’s just not that easy :(
Im happy shes fighting for her dad
My heart shattered💔
My sympathy goes to you and your family. I hope that everything has turned out good for your family. Congratulations on graduating.
We all have hearts. We don’t want any families to be broken up. But the immigration laws have to be enforced. It’s easy to say, “Let them stay, keep families together and let them cross the border illegally. “ but what is your strategy for the country to function effectively?
You knew what you were doing. Now face the music.
It's so sad to see racist people in the comments how can one be so heartless and ignorant💔
Because he's came to this country illegally.
There is no way to get here. Crossing the border is the only way.
Undocumented immigrants pay taxes that they don't receive benefits for and that AMERICANS live off of.
I can’t stand these comments smh
the sad thing is that the parent broke the law and thought that's ok, the child also has no respect to the laws, claiming her dad did nothing wrong, even though she was raised in the US. Entering the US illegally is a crime.
Right ❤
Why don't these people stay in their own countries and make them a better place to live?
chippledon1 you hear what they did to sneak into America and how they work for pennies on the dollar while here and it becomes apparent that if all these cowards gang together rather than fleeing then they could improve their Nations. Instead of holding their own accountable they sneak here and expect unlimited empathy from us.
Their government is selfish and the violent is dangerous. There are few jobs and a lot of people are poor. While here, the jobs are better paid and are few violent
ItzMelissa Tho they need to fight in their own country to make their lives better
well, my parents tried, they were really poor in Peru and studied hard and got into college in their own country, but they want more for me and I do too. maybe you don't understand that because you are from the US, I went there 4 times to do tourism and it was amazing.
This is so touching 😰😰😭😭😭😭
The “only” crime you committed is not like jay walking or littering! You broke an immigration law!!! You should have come in LEGALLY like many of us did. Go back and reapply to return to the country.
I feel sorry for these people. You want to come to America, do it the right way. I would send them all back
Laws need to be changed.
You could argue that perhaps the immigration system should be made easier or should change, but you can't argue that sending illegal immigrants back is wrong, because then you are arguing against all forms of law.
your great granpappy came here illegally, so what should happen to you?
Renee Hawk-brent if you were born in America then you’ll stay in America
Imagine yourself in that situation oh yeah shhhh😴😴😴 you have no room to talk. Yeah laws are laws but that could have been your family.
cindy camacho hey Cindy they transit through that shithole Mexico how come they didn't stay there
how about you worry about yourself
When you enter the U.S. illegally no matter how good of a person you are you still have broken the law so expect repercussions people!!!!
Finally it caught up, America has immigration laws and has been ignored for a long time. Go back at the end of the line.
There is no line.
Rudy C yup, there is.
Rudy C I would not have any second thought calling you people animals considering how you turned places y'all come from into shithole we get the worst from this invading horde bringing wreck and ruin into our country I'm a law and order man there is a line don't cross it you animal
God bless her family
I'm a legal immigrants and I say, its about time they enforce the law. If my family had to get in line so should everybody else. I feel sorry for this family but the dad should have done it the right way.
Thank you for coming the right way. That is all we want. Become legal pay taxes and live by the laws.
Come legal that way you don't break the law. If he knew he was illegal then it's his problem. If Americans break the law they go to jail.
Right
If hes such a great guy and has daughters who are citizens he should be allowed back in before too long. I think this overly dramatic.
10 yrs first offense. Then 20. Then it just keeps adding. Or yes, or never can come back. Even waiting and doing it the legal way is a long wait.
America is so great that they don't turn away Anchor babies although we definitely should. Also if I committed fraud to get a better life but was really nice about it should I expect to not get punished? Is that the gist of your statement?
overly dramatic wtf? have you been in that situation, do you know the process of immigration for the US
On a certain level, what is going to happen to this gentleman is unfortunate.
His fault for breaking the law and dragging his family along. Also been here how many years and can't speak English?
Odin31b yhe just wanted a better life for his family. His own fault
Shahriar Chegini do it legally or study and reform your country.
Great you just solved the problem, never thought about it. Congratz man !
Odin31b Ah yes, and How many languages have you learned?
Memo C only 3, but my phone knows hundreds!
Being arrested and being put into jail is different you still get to see them ! Breaking up families is different , putting them into camps separating kids from their parents is not right ! There is a complete difference .
They can go back with him. Sorry no sympathy here.
Go with him if you love him.
Says the Mexican himself
This was a really well shot documentary. Got to say, the immigration spokesman wasnt afraid to speak. The dad is from El Salvador which is essentially a warzone. I feel bad from him and family.
Right
you broke the law its just never been enforced
The law is BS. crossing the border for work is like j-walking to get to your job. It affects nobody.
Well let them go fight and all these families could be together again, dont blame America for this, its your countrys fault, so go fight for your country and land where you will all be happy.
so? american men fought AGAINST the government, they were not fighting against drug cartels.
Man up fix your country so you can be as proud as I am of mine. Millions will go back man up and get rid of the cartels. Be strong 💪
... never changes. Didn't file for legal status, doesn't speak english & expected what? THREE kids & who paid for the births / healthcare?
YEP our taxes
The daughter is wrong. We have a President that does not want "illegal" immigrants, not immigrants. How convenient she leaves out the word illegal. Hispanics SUPPORTRUMPENCE!
No person is ILLEGAL
I am Mexican, I live in Mexico City, I do not get mad at the Americans for sending him back, you enter someone else country without permission what did you expect?
Pure, and simple! Come here LEGALLY!!WAIT IN LINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, and learn to speak ENGLISH! SEE YA!
The United States Does Not Have An Official Language
These are not just the immigration policies of President Trump, these are our immigration laws, voted on by Congress and signed into law. These laws have been changed over the years; it is not as if we are stuck with draconian laws. Our immigration laws have been revised in '65, '76, '80, '86, '90, '96, '98, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006.
Too bad he didn't come legally. Buh bye and good riddance
Don't worry. I am quite sure El Salvador needs talent like him. Make El Salvador great again.
Good, if he were a legal citizen this wouldn´t happen
AMEN
Be glad she has educate her self at no cost to u
One day their children will rise up to remember these times.
How tf do they do harm when all they wanna do is come work and provide for their family
The United States is no different.
he never learned English?
he never learned much of anything
He worked hard
Anthony Santos for really cheap
Blu-Ray ANARCHY better than not working
Anthony Santos yeah true but the smart thing to do is save that money learn English to get an greencard
Entering illegally is a crime. If I committed a crime, just because I confessed doesn’t mean I shouldn’t suffer the consequences
He shines better then most Americans
david williams, do you feel better about yourself, now? yes, because a spelling error completely renders his very clear point incomprehensible, you petty princess...
He is married to an American so
An applicant for naturalization after three years of marriage to a U.S. citizen must meet the following citizenship requirements:
Be at least 18 years old. ...
Be a permanent resident (green card holder) for at least 3 years. ...
Have been living with your U.S. citizen spouse for at least 3 years.
It also costs 7k
I definitely have great compassion for these families, but when the family members gets deported (like the father) it might be a good idea to go back to that country to keep the family together. I just watched a good story about people voluntarily returning to Mexico and it turning out good.
The family should not sound like they are victims.
Leave and take this stool sample with you...
Alex Rodriguez Was Born In The Dominican Republic But Is Considered An American Citizen Hence Why He Is An Dominican-American Hybrid That's Rare
This is what breaking people hearts that the good are punishment with the bad I'm so sorry my God I'm crying now why this is happening to you why didn't you try to get legal while you were HERE my God I'll pray for you
WE THE OEOPLE ARE TIRED OF SAYING THIS.WE NEED TO TAJE TO THE STREETS TO SHOW DEMOCRATICS. WE WILL PUT YOU OUT.YOU LISTEN TO NON -AMERICANS BUT NOT TO YOUR Own PEOPLE.
I totally understand the girls point but I also understand the officers. He broke the law coming in here. He isn't a criminal in my book nor his family's, but yes in the U.S. government. I hope things change for all these broken up families.
Why should I care, if I didn't hablo espanol after sneaking into Mexico I'd understand when they deported me for my crime.
kuman30 funny enough, Mexico's immigration policy is actually tougher than the US's in several areas.
kuman30 cringe
Mexico has one of the toughest most racist immigration policies on planet earth, they basically hace no immigrants, the only ones they let stay are people from Europe. (I am not kidding, look it up) *MEXICANS ARE THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITES ON PLANET EARTH*
kuman30 The United states has a long history of intervening in other nations; in the name of democracy, they manipulate affairs and ravage nations to their benefit. If you want people out your country, keep out of theirs!
they don't deport anybody from mexico. Just because you have a law doesn't mean you have the resources to enforce it.
AND?!! The Law IS the LAW! Sorry, but if someone breaks our Laws, THERE are consequences. ASK anyone doing time!!!
Well why is she AMERICAN. Is her mother American.
You break the law, you pay for it! Serves you right!
He will be separated from his family, and it will affect him, so let him suffer the pain.
Ur disgusting
Well, if they love each other so much why don't they all go with Daddy?? Make a family business or something? As we this I just don't understand? He's probably not going to come back so they all need to be together back in there country!! Why is this so hard for people to understand
so are you for siding with a person who broke the laws of this country.
Crossing the border illegally -for the first time, still, it is an administrative violation. Working with a fake/somebody else's social security number is a felony, so is evade taxes. So, in short, crossing the border illegally is "not his only fault".
Amen
if he had immigrated legally....this would NOT have happened----so....i guess it is his fault
Please, understand how desperate we are, why can’t you demonstrate some empathy for some immigrants?! You’d probably do the same EXACT thing , don’t lie to yourself and say you wouldn’t escape a horrible country to protect your loved ones.
ang lol they have tons of sympathy for an unfertilized egg in regards to abortion but innocent immigrants? HORRIBLE
So is it possible for him to come back? Because if he willingly leaves, there is that possibility of him being able to re-enter the country legally. But if you're deported you're barred from coming back in for a period of time. It could be 5-20 years, all the way up to a permanent ban.
How is it that they have been in this country for so many years but still haven’t learned English?
Robrmz it takes time and people dont give a f bc they have their children to speak for them however its their choice to learn it or not
English is actually one of the most difficult languages to learn
Darlene Castillo they are here to imposed themselves on other people ESL makes English the second language thats why you are always pressing 2 for English
The United States Does Not Have An Official Language.
YOUR father DID A HORRID THING! She put you in a very bad position. Talk to him about it.
