poor buick, I realize its way past saving, the whole engine compartment was hanging on by a thread, anyway the front grill could have been saved, maybe the window glass????
I did not know that the engines were crushed with the car. They used to always pull the engine and transmission out first. Does the crusher crush the engine block?
At our yard in Minnesota all engines, transmissions, fuel tanks , catalytic converters and tires are pulled .NO EXECPTIONS !! If wee see a rare car with valuable parts or glass they get pulled .we have a large parts yard too
@@danh2134 ..How can people buy them when 99.9 % of these were never advertised for sale !!! I understand that there were a few odd pieces in the mix, but that pile looked like it came out kind of lopsided. Was that the usual forkloader driver in this vid?
There were a few molecules of steel left on that Buick that hadn't turned to rust yet. Someone (not me, because I know fucking nothing about cars) could've reconstituted a whole car from that! HOW DARE YOU?!
Vans, station wagons, hatchbacks, suv, and crossovers should always be crushed with the ass end pressed firmly against the rear of the vehicle so that the rear hatch, doors, don't accidentally pop open during the compaction process.
Great video! Although I couldn’t watch the Black Grand Prix get crushed! 1: i love that generation GP even tho they were shit. 2: my pontiac is on its way to the crusher after the motor went up in flames
monarch1957 It’s just a frame, but it looks like a couple of appliances are in that pile like a washer or a dryer and a chest freezer (it’s a freezer that is about waist high, looks like a big rectangle, and it has a hinged door on the top.)

They would prefer to make a fast buck. They don't know when or if someone is going to come and say I need this part for that car. it sucks it creates a shortage of parts
Let's see...a nasty, gnarly old Ford Minivan? Goodbye! A frame that has seen better days? Bye bye! A rotted-out, old Buick junker that's half-destroyed and beyond rescuing? Adios! The Gran Prix was a decent car when it was in good shape but even so, it's hard to mourn the loss of a typical 90s jalopy.
US EPA regulations, and on some later model cars the petrol tanks are plastic PVC, and or if some are made of a more precious metal than steel, they will separate them and scrap later with more bulk for a better price. The purer the grade, the better the pay.
1st car or van an old ford looks in okay shape ooo until the plastic pannels come off and its rusted out sills 2nd car or chasis of something old car which has been not only picked clean but the body and front are gone 3rd car which is completely gone rusted out and has now got nothing holding anything to the body, looks to be either a caddy or buick looks to be mid 70's ish as its not a yuaght or land boat but isn't that 80's looking either way far to gone to save 4th car some toyota/ford/mazda looking thing 80's or 90's verson not worth it

It's just that whenever I think of the LeSabre I think of the 1973/74 full sized boats! Like mention Dodge Charger and NOBODY thinks of the 1977 Dodge Charger! America made some truly forgettable cars in the late 70's! Or as George Carlin said "Here is the 1977 Piece of SHIT!" There were some memorable cars though like the 1977 Trans Am but even they were only memorable due to Hollywood!
Vehicles used in suicides and in violent crimes, like kidnap murders and drive-by shootings etc, should be quickly destroyed like this. Junkyards should be REQUIRED BY LAW, to immediately crush such vehicles upon arrival at the junkyard. A father of a teenage son, who killed himself in his vehicle with a hose attatched to the tailpipe, would get closure if he could see the vehicle that his son killed himself in, immediately crushed. Such a person would get even more closure he he could push the button himself. Road Rage vehicles should also be destroyed when seized from persons arrested for aggressive driving.
Screw that, the car didn't kill the boy, the boy killed the boy. Most people with a lick of common sense realize that, the rest want to take their pain out on something - which never makes them feel any better.
I wanted a car-junkyard since I was a child :-(
We all wanted that too
The 77-79 LeSabre was a 100% rot box. Everything here was prime crusher food.
And it’s frame was falling out as it was being loading into the crusher. ☹️
Ford Aerostar, 7879 Buick LeSabre, Pontiac Grand Prix
2:47 Oh no! They crushed the moon rover.
That's too bad for that two-door Grand Prix. They were cool cars.
I'd love to have a job like that. Smushing cars all day, what's not to love!
The windows on the car go pop, pop, pop all day long.
There are no flat tires on this white Ford mini van, because the wheels are removed before putting the vehicle onto the car crusher.
So what kind of crap does everyone want to hoard off these cars this time?
Happy Crushing New Year! 🎉

Awesome video!
That Grand Prix didn't go down without a fight...
That Aerostar crushed real nice! The LeSabre was rotted out .. Badly
Sometimes pressing up against the side of the vehicle while it's getting crushed isn't always good enough.
Keep on crushing. Happy New Year. Great video.
hard to believe at one time, these all were brand new cars that someone loved and cared for, that grand prix didnt wanna die
Car number two came with novel seating!
2:00 Was that the last of Buford T Justice's squad car?
Sure looks like old Buford's unit .now where's that tickturd junior 🤣
"Daddy, the top came off." "Ya don't say." 😂
The frame on that LeSabre rusted in half
The buick had a rotten frame. Looks like it had extra parts

Davenport ! Get Mr Griswolds car and bring it back here now !
Could you show us a video where you don't push the B pillar in? I was wondering what would happen.

Need to see how the glass bends before it breaks

We all must learn and its not a race to see how many cars we can crush in a day

I just parted my 01 out. They are really bad about rust under the doors the car is starting to warp from it.
Not much left of the second car, can't tell what it was.

Do they strip the interiors out B4 they crush them?
Frank P nope.
Frank P no just gas tanks
oh no they crushed old cars
Wow that Buick was rusted something horrible! Salt is nasty for our hearts and our cars!
Why do they crush it when you have usable parts?
They would prefer to make a fast buck. They don't know when or if someone is going to come and say I need this part for that car. it sucks it creates a shortage of parts
I think it would be cool if they crush a car will it running.

Good to see nothing of value crushed. Just 80s crapboxes.
U don't get more money if u scrap engines and frames. Different from bodies?
I wonder why they don't fill the vehicles with scrap like the petrol tanks to increase the weight & get rid of it ?

I'm not very impressed by it either. When it can't even crush a rusted out chassis that's kind of pitiful

That would be extremely wasteful.
Don’t blame the cars they didn’t do anything wrong!! It’s the driver/passenger who should be punished not the car.
