I woke up thinking “it’s Wonky Wednesday”! I know you’ve had a difficult year, but I hope you know how very appreciated you are. God gifted you creatively and it’s so wonderful that you pass the knowledge to us! You are a very special woman. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos-I always look forward to them.🙂

I love this cut work. The colours make it look very ethnic. It was a revelation how you do the eyelet stitches in two parts. The results are much neater. Gosh, I have been stitching 65 years, and I am so pleased to learn this technique.

Hello! I missed this video because I had a crazy week medical appointment wise, so I am diving in and loving this Wonky Cutwork! Thank you so much for my mindfulness stitching - otherwise I think I'd be mindless lol x's lj p.s. my dear friend was a free motion sewer and was one of the ladies who started the MEOW (Machine Embroiderists in Oregon and Washington). She taught amazing classes. It's a small world.

This is so funny that you are doing this today. I just watched Marion (from Marion's World) doing a video on this very same thing. Love it! I wish I could do the beautiful flower stitching she did. This one I can do so thanks Kathryn

Sorry I have not commented on the last couple of videos. Had a bad bout of pharyngitis, have been in bed with fever, chills, cough, and body aches. Had tests for flu, strep and covid all negative thank goodness. Today I’m better so caught up on the “holey” videos. They provided much needed entertainment as well as learning something new.. hello Fred Fred…so nice of you to visit us.

Looks interesting- I’m at a rather uneasy time right now- you know when life dictates what you do rather than you choosing. I don’t like it but fighting it does no good.
I will come back to this at a more gentler time.
Thanks for sharing, it’s 4 am on Wednesday morning - all is quiet here with a loyal cat beside me and visiting you reminds me all will be ok. Patience and faith in the process.

I do love cutwork, but I have only done little bits in the past. I think I may make a meditation scroll with only cutwork, as it looks and feels so nice. Thanks for the prompt.
Feeling flat is not nice, so I am glad you managed to get out to do something nice x

Thank you, Kathryn, for indulging my request and making us wonky holes. As I said, the ones in your pelmet piece reminded me of the inside of large seed pods so that is the effect I shall be trying for. Watching today I could see other possibilities. Looking forward to Friday's Park Home Life.

I was taught to run a line of backstitch arou d the shape, cut it out, abd then do the eyelet stitch. It's a bit more stable when you begin overcasting the edge.

Beautiful Fredfred knows exactly what he is doing. Thankfully, you are a loving and patient Mom. I enjoy seeing his proud passing by. I somehow feel that cutwork is an elevated type of embroidery and your tip of stabilizing the design for working later is great. I see myself being able to then stitch while watching tv without annoying 'someone else' with reaching and snipping, etc. I may be accidentally finding holes to embellish everywhere now. It is both patching the dyke, and letting the light shine through.
