Raffle Build Cylinder Head Disassembly and Inspection- HOW TO

In this episode of the Supercharged Raffle build I disassemble the cylinder head and start preparing it for the port job. I go through some of the process for taking the head apart as well as the special tool needed to get the job done. After disassembly I clean the residual head gasket material off the head, get it ready for inspection to make sure it conforms to flatness and surface roughness requirements before fitment of a Cometic MLS head gasket. After inspecting the cylinder head we go back to the garage to tackle the inspection of the frame where sanding of the scratches and gouges took place. To do so a Ultra Sonic thickness gauge is used.

I've never seen the flatness checked on a head before learned something new. It looks like you have access to a nice quality lab or you have invested in some very nice tools

Oh I've seen what they do to those! A cafe racer is definitely on the brain for a build. I'd love to stuff a newer engine in one and have the cafe style
