Never knew of Ryan until I saw him sing this at the end of "This is 40" which is a damn funny movie by the way. So glad I know of Ryan - fantastic then and now.
Daisy Sanders Me as well- I saw this at 40 and thre song and movie made me reflect on myself and my wife- sounds cheesy I guess but it did, I can't lie.
Whatever happened to the old me? Whatever happened to us? Whatever it was, it doesn't matter now Those days went speeding by And left us in the dust The car's on empty It rattles in the rust Whatever this is, is permanent A red wine stain or a scar Like one of those if you flip the negative You knew who I was and even before I even knew Now just look who we are And these wheels turn fast These wheels turn bright Reflecting every blurry moon that long goes shining Shining through the dark of the night Shining through the dark of the night You know that house that I wanna buy I wanna buy it for you The walls are made out of the wishes I make When I close my eyes and I'm lying here with you Whatever this is, is everything My feet are sore and blue Everything I ever said I did before Was just to get me here, get me here next to you And these wheels turn fast These wheels turn bright Reflecting every moon that long goes shining Shining through the dark of the night These wheels turn fast These wheels turn bright Reflecting every moon that long goes shining Shining through the dark of the night Shining through the dark of the night Shining through the dark of the night Shining through the dark of the night Shining through the dark of the night
@@andresriera87 Sorry for not being clearer. It looks like she has a capo on the second fret and is some form of open g, most likely dobro open g (gbdgbd). You could always use a lighter set of strings and tune a whole step up.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Knocks me down and builds me back every time I hear it .
I still think he has the best voice ever ❤ love when he does country, I wish he always did country music but I don’t think it’s his favourite 😢😢😢❤❤❤😂
Very artistic... Lost for words. Been listening to this for about x100 times
Cindy Cashdollar is a national treasure. Always amazed at the beauty she brings to every song.
I love what she does on the Dylan tune, "Not Dark Yet"...
So glad to hear REALLY good , real music is still alive!!!
I think I've listened to this every day for like six months straight. Goddam I need to catch his live show.
I saw him in San Diego, Dec. 2014 with The Shining - no disappointments - it was awesome.
:-)
die hard RA fan just finding out about this version, made my week
Ryan is the biggest piece of shit ever, but damn it the fucker writes some amazing tunes haha
When I saw this live I was like, "That's one of the best TV musical performances of all time."
Love this tempo. 😀 underated song for sure
The memories.. listening in 2020👍♥️
Love this in the higher key👌. It makes the song!!!
Exactly. I can’t find the official high key version anywhere
first ryan adams song ive had the pleasure of hearing. reminds me a lot of neil young
probably one of his best songs!! i always play and sing this for my 8yo daughter and its one of her favourites too next to sweet Carolina
This is actually better than the studio version because of the dobro
zactly...
The dobro and the enthusiasm in his voice.
Cindy Cashdollar is always money.
Yeah markedly
I always love how ryan brings a new dimension to his songs over time. His live catalogue shows that.
This live version is so much better than the album version on ‘star sign’.

What a gem of a movie. I think a lot of people were introduced to Graham Parker too. Two of the best Songwriter alive today.
This song is perfect
Love this so much! And always will!
This should have a lot more views. Amazing song
I love this song
I love Ryan when he does country, sorry Ryan but I do ❤❤❤
Such a long time before Ryan was even w/ whiskey town I wrote this
Cindy cashdollar added something special and it became better than the album version
pro tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Marley Axton yea, have been watching on Flixzone for years myself =)
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
Thanks JFK!
This is so beautiful!!!
This song is absolute fire! Don’t know why it has been left off of the last few albums
Yeah I think just soundtrack, needs to be a consistent song
"Reflecting our love the moon goes shining..."
Genius.......
the dobro fills are so solid.
very tasteful licks
Шикарное исполнение!
Love Cindy Cashdollar!
This version is everything.
Any other original whiskeytown fans out there?
"houses on the hill" is where it's at
Yes mate. Still listen to Strangers Almanac regularly 👌🏻
@@Nodrog86 hell yeah!
Absolutely- here too!
@@Nodrog86 Such a beautiful recording...
So good!
Fabtastic version! Way better than the studio
Sounds like cutting the midwest by road...the sunset at ya rear
Cindy Cashdollar makes this performance go (as usual).
Wow that was a great. the dobro adds so much, that now when I hear other versions... Well sounds like some thing is missing
"PUre joy"
Nice
Taste of the 2023 Cardinals
Those Appalachian connections…I don’t have them although perhaps the Arcadia of Arkansas and Louisiana shine through here
Nice.
This a fking banger
This version is 800x better

You know that house that I wanna buy
I wanna buy it for you
The walls are made out of the wishes I make
When I close my eyes and I'm lying here with you
Whatever this is, is everything
My feet are sore and blue
Everything I ever said I did before
Was just to get me here, get me here next to you

Most of his live music is definitely better!
O dont know who Don Wazzzz or Cindy Cashdweller are but damn they good
Remember when earth was cool?
Is it open G with a capo the tuning on that dobro?
Probably capo 2nd fret. The song is in A
@@thefailedmusician8582 the tuning on the dobro is what I want to know. On the guitar it's in A, but that's not any help with the dobro

Hi
“Shining through the dogs of the night”
Lol… shining through the dark southern night
Is ti a Ryan Adams so or a cover?
bob kat This is RA's. Only appears in the movie and on the soundtrack.
bob kat Both........He changed his original version up significantly.
MrRondonmon you are right, and this is 100% better.
