Great video! What time did you leave the lake to go for the summit? I see this was posted in November, so I'm guessing the days were a bit shorter then. What time of year did you go? Thanks again for the video, planning on doing this one in August!

Thanks! We went in October. As for the time leaving to the summit from the lake, I don’t fully recall, but it was pushing for time. I recall we left around maybe 2pm. Nice man! August would be a great time to go 👍👍

Hi I am considering attempting it tomorrow alone. How much route finding did you have to do? If I stick to All trails trail on the way up, would that suffice?

Awesome. I mainly stuck to Gaia but as for route finding there was definitely a little bit of route finding towards the top. My recommendation, on the final big scree slope (avoid going right up the middle) I went up the left and kind of crossed over to the right above the steep section and onto the final top basin area. Just take your time - its not too bad but some of the scree can be a bit of a challenge. I mainly stuck to the bigger rocks as much as I could, which held up better under foot. There will likely be a minimum amount of a bit of sliding here n there, but just take your time! Good luck and stay safe.
I find a lot of the sections aren’t as bad when you get up close. From a distance, they can look daunting. Overall, I found the journey wasn’t very exposed, but just being cautious on the scree slopes. Hope that helps.

@@disciplined.adventurer I chickened out and did mount cook instead 🙈 just too much risk being alone on a day hike. The views were magnificent up there too

@@InconvenientFactzI hear ya man! That’s a smart move. Can never be too careful! Glad to hear Mount Cook went well 👍👍
