    This was amazing to see how you can cover such distance in such a short period of time.

      It was a grind for sure! The fact is was cloudy helped out a ton! Im not good with the heat haha 😩

      @@disciplined.adventurer Yeah the heat can for sure lead to faster dehydration and heat exhaustion. OR makes some nice head protection against the sun. OR Sun Runner Cap and OR Sunbriolet Sun Hat is what I use when hiking in hot temps. Still an epic trail run in such an amazing alpine location.

      @@victorkonstantin nice, I will have to check out those OR hats! I got super lucky this day as I had lots of cloud cover until later afternoon then I switched to wearing hat - I do need an upgrade of new hat soon so Ill check those models out! Thanks 🙏
      And yes, such a beauty of a trail! Less technical than other high alpine trails which is kinda nice

    Used to run in and out in a day for the fishing back in the early 70's. You can also go out via Aenstick Meadows to the Mamquam River. The glaciers are noticeably smaller now. Thanks for the memory.

    Visual content was great, so sharp, I’m a hiker not a runner but imagined myself on foot with my dog filming as we go lol. I’ll check out some of your other vids too 👍

    How scared of bears should I be? How do you make noise in these trails when you're alone?

    • @disciplined.adventurer
      @disciplined.adventurer  2 месяца назад +1

      I find with the bears if you respect them they will respect you. Black bears (which are the most common around there) are naturally afraid of us and want to be left alone.
      If Im alone I always talk to myself (I have a deep / loud voice which does help haha) - but yea just making lots of sounds in general if you are alone. Whistling and making noise lets them know you are coming through their territory - and if you’re with someone just keep a conversation going in areas with dense forest where you can’t see around d the corner - the Bears will likely hear you first and leave away from you. You can also invest in a bear bell which you can attach to your backpack which makes noise as you hike. Also always carry bear guard (bear spray) just as a last resort. Hope that helps!

      There is usually snow at the higher elevations until late summer. It’s actually very common at that time of year that There will be snow up there 👍
