    That last strain is so monstrously complex and nuanced. Amazing that they each can sing their notes without wavering.

      Pretty nasal in my opinion, but it is a robust voice

    This is one of my favorite songs on their album. It's probably stupidly hard to perform so props to these lovely men.

    Special thanks to the "get in the hole" knucklehead who instantly lets everyone know how much he appreciates the performance, before letting anyone else enjoy the end of the final chord.

    What the absolute heck is happening at 3:54? Chris isn't singing super low, but some crazy note ends up coming out of the group and I cannot figure it out.

    • @ryanmajka885
      @ryanmajka885 3 года назад +2

      When the chord locks, not only is an overtone produced, but so is an undertone. I think that's what you were hearing. Tighter tuning = more notes audible. I think there's a recording of Ringmasters where the overtone makes it sound like there's a 5th guy screaming away.

    • @LegoGillen
      @LegoGillen 3 года назад +1

      @@ryanmajka885 I've heard all sorts of overtones, especially in barbershop and especially from Vocal Spectrum, but never an undertone. I was talking to friends about this song and he said that we here the bari and lead overlap changing the chord structure, but that doesn't seem like the whole thing. An undertone makes more sense to me, but I'm my very basic understanding I did not think that was possible in the way that is shown in this song.

    • @parkerklinck263
      @parkerklinck263 3 года назад +1

      @@LegoGillen I'm hearing chris drop down an octave from "strange" to "new". Typically undertones need to be produced as compared to overtones which just kinda happen with locked chords, but that note is well within chris' range so there is no need for him to have to produce an undertone to make it.

    • @LegoGillen
      @LegoGillen 3 года назад

      @@parkerklinck263 I just don't think he is dropping the octave. It sounds to me as if he is staying on the same note.

      @@LegoGillen I am def hearing an octave drop. I think maybe the bari takes over the note?

    Bass is great, but over powers the harmonies. Maybe should move him to one far side, further from the mic.
