    I've noticed a few of you are also struggling with the overall difficulty of it. That's perfectly normal, give it a week with 15 minutes of practice a day and you'll be surprised at the results!

    This game has been so helpful with improving my mental in game. I'm new to ranked (I'm only in bronze) and I have super bad ranked anxiety. I'm constantly getting stunned, missing skill shots, taking skill shots for no reason, etc. so I was fully expecting to not even get to 2000. Weirdly when I tried this game, I got to 5000 reliably and pretty easily. That's when it hit me that I'm just trying to have fun with the game, I'm not afraid of letting anyone down cause it's just a drill. Now i've been trying to calm down more during games, really just focus on the things I can reliably control, dodging what I can and not back seat gaming myself. Its really been helping!
    Tldr: this drill taught me to not be a bitch and have some confidence for once lmao

      I highly disagree though(not that they dont do it or not) but macro is imo way more important then micro since a lot of it how you spend you time doing something compared to micro, I have seen so many giga low elo's do nothing for so long(im gold 2 that sometimes try to help bronze/iron players) and they spend so long doing litterally nothing

    • @NotLordAsshat
      @NotLordAsshat 2 года назад +13

      @@d4s0n282 they're both very important. I helped multiple friends get into the game, and even if we told them everything they needed to do it didn't help because they could barely control their character properly. It's important that your character control is nearly completely subconscious so that you can focus on strategy, since I've moved to doing 1v1 drills with my new player friends to train them to control their character

    • @Sheenulus
      @Sheenulus 2 года назад +1

      @@NotLordAsshat I fully agree that it is VERY important to know how to use micro to your advantage, I would argue even moreso that macro. I drilled micro without changing a single thing about my overarching theories of League, I was able to climb extremely easily using champions like Orianna and Cassiopeia by just stomping through fights due to champion mastery. I think my macro decision making actually just got worse because I can afford to make more risky and, frankly, stupid plays because my micro can carry me through. I reached Plat 3 70 LP before I had to stop for University and Elden Ring (my spring break ended ;-;).

      Yeah. They teach the theories really well, but things are not as black or white as they make it seem. E.g. being lvl 2 to your opponent's lvl 1 doesn't mean you can miss every Q and auto attack your opponent to death with Syndra every time.

    I'm a grandmaster player in SoloQ, I've been playing this a couple times a week for a few minutes for months and I definitely saw amazing results, in the beginning my max score would be 1-2K, but this number gradually increased with time, going to 3K, 4K best score, etc. Now, after months of playing it a couple times a week, my highest score was 7799, and I achieve close ones (7k+) very often, every 5 games I would say, and according to the list of highest scores in the video this would put me at rank 1. Thank you Coach, your work is my favorite LoL content around, your guide are the best ever: complete, detailed, and also you teach what’s the reasons behind some of the choice to make as a certain champion. Seeing you teach Mid makes me think of an analogy: the way you teach to play the game is like teaching the art of Music, compared to a tutorial of one song that you can learn to replicate and that’s it.
    After all this honey I would like to ask you about an adversary I really struggle with: Neeko. I can’t understand how to counter this champion, her abilities has a lot of variables, her playstyle is a pain in the bottom to deal with and I am tired to perma-ban her
    I imagine you have a lot going on right now with the MLA and other project, but for one of your “Counter Guide” it would be fantastic to have this champion as protagonist.

The first day I did it I struggled to get 3k, skip literally to the next day and I manage to average 2.5k and get 5.8k as my high score, and it showed it my Yasuo games! The way I approach skirmishes feels super smooth now and laning is easier now that I can dodge so much more. I also used it to kind of condition my body to enter the flow state and relax by breathing deeply but gently when I recognize even the slightest tension or distraction.

    So my history on RUclips says I watched this 2 weeks ago roughly. Every day before my session I play for 5-15 minutes depending on my time and I might play if/when I dodge my 1 game per day.
    The first day I had a score of 200's- 500's maybe. Within the first week I started noticing patterns in my movement that did not help me. I also started making sure that I did a Q left click, the same as my ability usage/autos in the game. In the first week I was starting to hit 1000's consistently and I still get 200's sometimes. The following week I started making circular movements and seeing the safe spaces to be etc. Last week I hit 2500 when I was in the zone. this week I hit the same number (2500) without even feeling like I'm pushing myself. I still get 200's sometimes (A Lot) lol
    Moral of the story is stick with it and analyze yourself as you play. I started watching my own VODs and was able to see 1 I am not following my own advice from dodge game but i definitely feel my mouse clicking and micro has improved a ton. Also watched one where this Caitlin walked at me as Kassadin when I was WAAY too low health. This is not a fireball moment. This is more of you let a grey rat looking NPC get too close and now you will pay for it because you did not space them correctly to fight back. walking straight back will only help for soooo long. you will run out of room and get one shot.
    Thanks for the video.
    Edit: Update just hit 3K after 2-weeks
    Edit: Says I wrote this 3 weeks ago...Just hit 4.9k! wow. 15 mins a day.
    Edit: 1 Year Later...consistency is the Major Issue here... You need to stick with it! I can still hit 4K but never broke 5 I don't think. Also its critical to adapt your play. I never used the stop command till today. I also started moving to the left side or the right of the screen and boxing myself in to challenge myself more.

    Hey Coach Curtis, is there an ADC version of Coach Curtis you would recommend? **ANYBODY KNOW ONE?**
    I am a plat 1 ADC main and I LOVE and gain so much from your videos, but don't intend to play mid, I still see the value in your content and can see that its not only for mid players, but I want to hone in on specifics of the laning/positioning and whatnot and feel that an ADC coach even COMPARIBLE to your capacity to educate would be extremely beneficial to my growth. Thank you and please keep up the excellent content, love the way you talk about everything, your insight is unmatched. Even your ability to create beneficial analogies is such a gift because it helps me understand so much, you're amazing and seem very in touch with yourself/your mental.

    Mate have your guys play Starcraft 2 for a few weeks. See how much improvement shows from controlling 5 armies with three control groups per army, multiple upgrades done in the same time as hitting two enemy base weakpoints and intercepting enemy waves on the other side of them map with a third army, while gaining vision with your fourth army WHILE dropping your fifth one on the second enemy base with airdrop, all the while trying to dodge enemy skills, casting your own units skills while spreading your creep AND pumping out new larvae for creating new units from every queen unit you have on every hatchery and then turning those into the next phase units WHILE still building towards the next tech. Come back to lol to deal with 1 single unit and just 6 buttons, it's piece of cake. 2 weeks of them playing zerg vs the other races. They come back and they rank up within one single day.

      I have not actually. But over my time coaching in the MLA, a few clients have struggled with micro due to low DPI (coming from fps backgrounds)
      You need to have a high enough DPI to actually react to things fast enough. I don't know what this number is, my hunch is somewhere ~1600

    This is a very interesting video, Ill have to try it haha!
    I have a question for the community. I am a Kindred OTP and I have been trying to expand my champion pool. I am currently P4 on the new season with pretty solid MMR so I expect to climb higher. I would say I can play Khazix, Shyvana, and Vi to probably about a Gold level of play. However, when in champion select, I find it super hard to justify not just locking Kindred knowing that even if I am counterpicked I trust my knowledge of matchups to handle it better than playing any of the other champs in my pool. You may also realize im a jungler. I try to watch coaching content on all lanes so I can better understand what they are thinking in a game. I learned to freeze lanes for them, when they need to hard shove, when they can roam, when they need a gank, etc.
    Thanks to any and all replies!
