Awesome video WheelsBoy Team!!!! Congratulations to the participants of the first tour. Looks like so much fun. Definitely will be enquiring on the details for the tours in 2025. Chinese cars are incredible value for money and tech packed which is exciting.
Wheelsboy, you guys are amazing. I can only hope the Canadian government can one day stop being corrupt and succumbing to pressure from Western corps/billionaires, and allows us to access these amazing Chinese cars. This tour looks amazing, and I hope to do it one day!
Here in Brazil, now, we have so many chinese brands in brazilian's streets! If pick a random person and ask: "What brand you think when you see a EV?", this person say BYD. Also, nice tour, guys!! 😃✌
Great work on this channel. I just bought the Hyptec HT. Your video on this one did not help me, because my export variant was quite different and the video was very short. But the general overview this channel provides made it easy for me to make a good and confident pick quickly in my market. Thanks!
Here in the UK, a relative cheap Chinese EV, such as a BYD Dolphin, the same money will buy you a Citröen C5 Aircross, a far bigger car. It's because EVs coming from China are taxed to death.
It is kind of sad to see all these Chinese cars offering great things, while knowing more than half of what I see on Chinese auto channels will never come to Europe. And when they do, they cost almost double (already the case before the recent tariffs), are buggy and do simply not perform as well. Chinese are coming to take over Europe (sarcastic) but what they offer so far is mediocre at best most of the time. Save for a couple such as XPeng G9.
I believe, I am your oldest follower and my Love for EVs is undeniable so I would like to join you in china, Way back after watching you episodes when I tell people about these Evs everyone thinks I am mad 😂 & imagining while asleep.
This is a great idea. Seeing is believing! This could be the best way to gain a true understanding of the Chinese EV industry, which is really the future of the global auto industry.
that was really cool, i look forward to your next tour videos. its nice having the perspective of everyday people. what would be really good if if you could get some politicians to come next time. maybe some people from the greens party from aus and nz
Nah, better to get them from the right. With Dutton pushing nuclear and the right leaning NZ gov charging ~ 9c/km RUC on EVs you need to pry them out of the News/Sky media propaganda bubble.
Ethan, I am glad your first tour event went well. It appears everyone had a great time. Some strong Aussie accents there :-)). I had heard it is difficult for foreigners to get driving permission in China... Did not seem an issue for your guys and gals.
It was essentially a non-issue! I heard they basically went inside, watched a very gruesome video on accidents inside China, and then handed them their temporary driving permits. Not what I'd do myself, but, it left quite the impression.
@@christiaanburger2205 I asked because this is what the AI bot told me. For foreigners to drive in China, they need to obtain a Chinese driver's license. Here are the key requirements: 1: Age: You must be between 18 and 70 years old to drive a car or scooter, and 18 to 60 years old to ride a motorcycle. 2. Valid Foreign Driver's License: You need to have a valid driver's license from your home country. This license must be translated into Chinese and notarized. 3. Visa or Residence Permit: You must hold a valid visa or residence permit that allows you to stay in China. 4. Medical Certificate: Some regions may require a health check from a designated hospital. 5. Passport and Photos: You'll need your original passport and a copy of the information page, along with passport-sized photos (usually 2-4) 6. Application Form: Complete the application form for a Chinese driver's license, which can be obtained at the local Vehicle Management Office. 7. Written Test: In some areas, you may need to pass a written test on Chinese traffic laws. The process involves submitting all the required documents, paying the necessary fees, and possibly taking a written test. Once approved, the Chinese driver's license is usually valid for six years and can be renewed upon expiration. I guess those thinking of doing a motorcycle tour through Yunnan to Shangri-la via Dali and Lijiang when they retire are out of luck. Hard to believe no one over 70 can drive.

Get a temporary driving license in China is quite simple, though the specific regulations depend on the city or province. We handle the whole process for participants, they just provide the necessary documents and we take them to the Ministry of Transportation office once they arrive.
Kind of stupid how Geely gives EU the worst cars possible while they have excellent stuff in China. The Zeekr 001 and Polestar 4 are buggy, inefficient, expensive and charge dog slow here.
