Me too, Jim. She's so unpretentious and wonderful. When she was young her beauty on the screen was ethereal. My boyfriend at the time was totally enamored, and I didn't care. I got it, completely.
Candace Bergen just turned 77 on May 9th! I'm two weeks older than she & my wife is two weeks younger, born May 23rd, 1946! Happy Birthday to all of us!
In her book 'A Fine Romance' Bergen admits to some procedures while Murphy Brown was in production. Thankfully they didn't try to overhaul her appearance or attempt to freeze her back into her 20's-30's. She looks amazing at 75. She has good genes & has been a vegetarian for a long time, which I'm learning first-hand will help one navigate those older years.
@@mercygrrl That reminds me of what Betty White said during the Golden Girls that she had a eyes done. So perhaps Ms Bergen has had some minor lifts here & there. But regarding a vegetarian lifestyle as long as one can consume a lot of protein, calcium & iron. So milk, cheese, legumes is a staple. Curried lentils are a cheap, delicious & nutritious go to. Actually, there is a quote from Ms. White regarding longevity about soya, wheatgerm & vegetarian stuff, she said throw it in the garbage & have a juicy pork chop, plus 8 hours of beauty sleep & 9 if you are ugly. So horses for courses. One should do what suits the individual. At 99 she has good genes, & perhaps whatever she eats she will still be 99. Richard Overton lived May 1906 - Dec 2018 smoked 12 cigars a day. Fact.
She has ABSOLUTELY had plastic surgery. A long time ago. She is 75. Admits to face lift and other forms. She doesn’t do fillers. And that’s why she looks “good” for her age.
My dad was a carpenter and had a shop in West Hollywood. He made a storage box for Mr. Bergen to store Charlie. He took my sister with him to take the box to Mr. Bergen and she met Candice, they were the same age and Candice gave my sister a chameleon. She was down to earth, kind and not the least bit spoiled-acting. Very sad that she never heard her parents say "I love you" to her. I think she is the most beautiful, natural-looking lady ever and I hope she lives a long, healthy life and enjoys her grandchild.
I love Candace Bergen. I'm 78. It keeps getting more real. I'm rewatching Boston Legal and LOVE her comedy. What a cast. Loved the intro of this where you're painting hamburgers.
Hard to put into words my admiration for this remarkable woman. So glad to see this interview. She is still beautiful and real. She was in a film a few years ago, I saw her name and no question I would see it. She was funny, charming, generous in her portrayal of, well, us. Thanks, Candace. Much love to you.
I hope I look half as good as she does when I turn 75!! My mom died at 57 so when I turned 57 it made me realize all that much more how young she was and how much life she missed out on! I cherish every age and every birthday! I'll be 63 in January! 🙂
Yes. A classically beautiful woman. She's a couple years older than me, but looks better now than me when I was 60. She has indeed lived remarkable life.
Why “Murphy Brown” has been pretty much forgotten about I’ll never understand. I looked forward to Monday night at 9 p.m. for years. Candice deserved every Emmy. The ensemble cast was brilliant. I’m still lugging around about 6 boxes of VHS tapes, every single episode, since they won’t release to a streaming service, or on DVD. One of the smartest sit coms to ever come out of Hollywood.
At 72 life is more intimate, richer with memories, gratitude looms large. So, live today what you will delight to recall tomorrow. Thank you Ms. Bergen… best wishes, health, joy and wellbeing 🥂
She is beautiful and also nice , we bumped into her in midtown on a Sunday morning. Her daughter was perhaps (1) if that. And she was window shopping w/ her. As a 63 year old man, I commend Candice for aging gracefully at 75, and not resorting to plastic surgery to look 45! 🤣 I had the pleasure of briefly seeing Candice years ago at one of the 'Vanity Fair Oscar' parties at Morton's restaurant in West Hollywood. While standing amongst the fans awaiting the celebrity arrivals at THE party, she drove up in a light blue Mercedes-Benz, and got out right in front of me at the police barricade! First thing I thought was OMG, she drove herself! Second thing I thought was "Murphy Brown" in the flesh! 😎🤗 Thank you Candice for my little memory our "little meeting"! 😍

I will never forget the first time I saw in “The Group .” She was jaw dropping beautiful!
It was great to see Candace Bergen today, as I have always loved watching her perform.
It must’ve been fun for Candace growing up with her father, Edgar Bergen, ventriloquist, & his sidekick, Charlie McCarthy, during her formative years. With her coming from a home that had everything without the struggles of financial problems that most have; she maintained an understanding of human behavior & a generosity for others less advantaged. Not only, a wonderful & talented person but still a beauty at almost 75! Congrats at being GRANDMOM, CANDACE, probably your greatest role, no MURPHY BROWN substitute! Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee, 2022!
Hat's off to the amazing Candice Bergen. These days to get to 75 is an achievement in itself but she's also had an amazing life and career too.
Have always admired her, and still do. 💞
You are loved Candice Bergen. We love you very much.
I love you, Candace Bergen
I so miss her on-camera work…what a class act ❤️
I also love the lady that interviewed Candice😜
I admire how these two women are aging naturally and with great class.
