    I I am not trying to hammer you in the comment section but there are some things wrong with this video that your viewers should be aware.
    1. You should not tighten the drain plug like you did.
    2. Take off the oil filter while the drain plug is off. Also recommend to have to oil refill cap unscrewed and dipstick out as well.. It allows for greater velocity
    3. When applying oil to the filter o-ring, use the clean oil not the old oil.

    Just one note as well.... not sure if anyone had this happen to them or not, but watch out for the sharpness of the skid plate around the edges it is really sharp. Like knife sharp, cut myself accidentally after I had it off the undercarriage. I was still lying under the car and didn't want to stand up to move it and swiped my pinky and ring finger across the front part of the skid plate moving it and cut myself. Really sucked. Lol. Good vid as well man. Best to do your own oil cause the oil shops might not even change your oil or filter happened to me just the other day. I will do it myself. Payed $71.00 dollars to have it done. Made a one time investment of about $130 for the ramps and oil change items including 17mm wrench and oil pan. Now from now on it will cost me around 38 bucks to do it myself. Honda Civic EX-T Turbo 1.5, wish I had the SI but maybe later lol

      It makes it easier on larger vehicles but on such a small motor with high oil pressure, small filter and thin oil, that thing will fill up super fast. Not really a big deal. But yeah I do usually fill up the filter about half way just to get the media primed.

    • @gaboxd001
      @gaboxd001 6 лет назад

      Rob he used a normal wrench, I don’t know wtf happened. He came up with the excuse that oil pans are made of a brittle material (aluminum and calamine alloy) and that they’re easy to crack, I kinda understand that but please... anyways, he was very responsible about it and bought me an new pan right away.

    • @mikecurry6847
      @mikecurry6847 4 года назад

      It's a lot easier to get too much torque on the wrench when the car is on a lift and you're standing under it. When laying on the ground it feels a lot harder to do, so someone without experience might mess it up. But yeah that does seem like a pretty rookie-ish mistake to make.

    • @Solrac77777

    Hey man just saying u tightened down on the drain plug way to much I mean that's a aluminum pan it's really easy to strip the threads out and same thing with the oil filter u dont have to superman it every book and shop including dealerships will tell u when its snug go a extra half to 3/4 turn your just making it harder on urself by over tightening it and can cause issues like a seized filter or failure of the o-ring

      Be good to invest in a torque wrench for that. No mistaking the tightness. Have you also seen the Fumoto valves for these vehicles? This would be a perfect application. Have it on my VFR and also had it for 8 years on my old CTS. Easy peasy oil changes.

    FYI folks, the honda A02 filter is made by fram. Personally the moment I found that out I switched. I really like baldwin, Purolator boss, full, and wix filters. The honda filter is identical to a mid level fram filter, and painted blue. Honestly it probably doesnt matter, changing your oil is what matters. Many new findings on these engine's are suggesting changing the oil around 3500 miles. Especially if youre tuned.

Replace your transmission fluid and your transmission cooler filter with O rings every 30,000 miles.

      I use liquimoly molytech and when I'm in a hurry, I'll use royal purple because it's on the shelf everywhere. The hps royal purple is better than the api certified, but the api certified is what you want to go with if you're still under warranty and not in the United States. That being said, as long as you put full synthetic 0w20 in there, they can't void your warranty for it in the US. We have certain legal protections here that allow us to put whatever oil in that we want, provided it matches the requirements from Honda and api certification isn't one of them.

      It's the same as any other oils. With newer cars you can change the oil anywhere from 4-6k miles. But since the new honda's have an oil guage or meter within the car, it will remind you when it's time for an oil change. Other than that, just always check your dip-stick to be sure. Only reason people choose other sources of oil/aftermarket oils is due to the additives they provide for performance.

    This isn't ideal, but if you don't have a new crush washer, you can at least re-anneal it by heating it up with a touch until it's red hot and then letting it cool naturally. It will soften the copper/aluminum, whichever it is. Again, not ideal. Just buy a box of crush washers. But if you don't have one and you need to get your oil changed, at least hit the washer with a torch and give yourself the best chance.
