  • Featuring as the final race of the Grid Series championship, a special edition of Chase The Ace saw track manager, Ollie, step into the kart on Pole.
The race itself had tight racing and controversial penalties. This was truly an exciting event! Who would come out on top? Watch and find out!
Spoliers - in order to explain the finishing order of the race....
Ollie's finishing position didn't count. He was there as the Ace, and his presence certainly made for a good race at the front. After some good racing with James and Rhys in the first stint, the pitstops ended up bunching myself and Rhys behind Ollie. I was definitely the big winner after the stops, because Ollie's (over?)-defensive driving allowed me to catch the pair of them.
Indoor karting is always tight, and I tried to avoid contact with the guys ahead. Unfortunately, I got caught out a couple of times and ultimately received a penalty for contact. This dropped my behind Rhys in the final results. A shame, as I thought there was equal contact between us, so perhaps I was unlucky. Never mind though, the race was so much fun!
The most controversial thing was Daniel. It turned out he was actually the race leader when the marshals mistook his position and showed him blue flags, thinking he was a lap down. In another twist though, he was given a time penalty for not parking his kart in the allocated spot during the kart swap during the race. So he was demoted to fourth place overall!

@@olle6260 it was so much fun. You defended really well. I think if either Rhys or myself had been alone behind you, we'd probably have a better chance of passing you, but because we were both there we couldn't risk going too offline and leaving the door open. You raced really well. Look forward to the next time!

@@Darkforce2543 mate, you had every right to be pissy. Tbh, it's probably better that you got a penalty because it meant you wouldn't have won even without the blue flag debacle!
