Here are some thing I'd like to add: 1.- To get the Action Center flyout, grab "ActionCenter.dll" and "ActionCenter.dll.mui" (Found inside System32) from a Windows 8.1 ISO 2.- You can also get the old Narrator program from the link in the description; Download the files and put "Narrator.exe", "NativeHooks.dll", and "TRAPI.dll" inside the "alt resources" folder. When putting the shortcuts to the Start Menu, change the Narrator shortcut's path to "%windir% arrator.exe". 3.- Before you install Aero Window Manager, get the Visual C++ Runtime 2019 if you run into some issues. 4.- Don't use the Thick Frames mod used in this video, get the alternative found in the link in the description.
also, the 8.0 action center can bug out sometimes. the 8.1 one works perfectly fine. for narrator, it anyone wants it in a foreign language, go to your locale folder in system32 (not like en-us but for example let's say polish, so you would go to the pl folder and take the narrator dll from there)

i went on the entire journey to set this up myself and the result is fantastic!! amazing work putting it all together and making this tutorial. the only issues i ran into were openwith enhanced not installing at all, and the windows explorer icon in the start menu still being the windows 10 one (its the windows 7 one everywhere else). but those r pretty minor so i dont mind. ^_^

I remember years ago (around 2021 or such) I was obsessed into getting that Windows 7 look on modern Windows (especially the Aero theme with the slim window buttons and transparency) but at that time there was no way to recreate that. Nowadays, it seems like the scene has completely changed, and now it is almost indistinguishable from base Win 7! I would just love to see how the theme acts in resolutions up to 4k, in case the icons start to blur or such. Cuz if not, I am very tempted to try it on my main system!

I have some trouble on 53:56 . ** = problem In that section, i used cmd as administrator, copying and pasting the location, wrote the code "regsvr32 msdia140_awm.dll", after that i closed it and used ExecTI opening the cmd and doing the same thing again, in the tutorial u showed me that i need to go to aero10 folder and import the reg file and fhen i wrote injector.exe, **it cannot load the injecton library**. I was still very new into this world of Windows customization back then, so I didn't know 7tsp existed. Regarding your other question, updates WILL break stuff as Windows replaces modified system files after every update, so make sure to disable Windows Update when you're done.

Everything has worked perfectly, however it still says windows 10 home on control panel and on the desktop watermark for some reason. however i'm confident that I imported all the res files into resource hacker and saved them each

Had one other issue with this, for some reason Beautyfox has a black bar covering the titlebar after installing it? If I run the AWM injector again it temporarily fixes it, but it causes my PC to lag and it goes back to the way it was before after I restart or log off
I have another question. After running "file replacement.cmd", whenever I open File Explorer, my whole explorer.exe crashes and has to restart (which takes a few seconds). Sometimes this occurs as soon as I open File Explorer, while other times it takes like 5-15 seconds, but it always happens. Do you have any idea what could be causing this or how I could fix it? When I try to inject using AWM it gives an error that says "cannot load injection library", I think it's probably linked to the fact that when I downloaded AWM I don't seem to have the symbols folder in there? unsure of what's causing any of that though Edit: Solved this a bit ago, see replies if you're having the same issue

In your "file replacement.cmd" file, you have a line that renames shell32.dll.mun to shell32.dll.mun.old in %windir%\systemresources, and then (three lines later), you have a line that copies the shell32.dll.mun in "SystemDrive%\alt resources" to %windir%\systemresources. I have a problem, however. I do not see any file named "shell32.dll.mun" in my "alt resources" folder. So, either I missed something in your video, or you never mentioned putting that file into "alt resources". What should I do about this? Where should I source this file from? I think no, unless you can get replacement files that are Spanish. You would have to work with es-XX folder instead of en-XX, where XX is the country/state depending on your Windows.

during 40:06 it said that some files were not found even though in alt resources were all the files necesary, after the comand was over, i couldnt right click i couldnt see regedit i couldnt search for shit i couldnt see in task manager anything, some text messages are all weird , can someone please help? You shouldn't have skipped that as the script renames the files first before it starts copying them. You can try running a Windows 10 installer from a USB and removing the .old extension from the files showed in the timestamp 34:54.

I put the logon screen files along side other applications and modified files into a folder called "alt resources"; later on, I ran a script that places all of the files into their respective locations.

You can uninstall the software and run "sfc /scannow" on CMD as admin.

I dual boot windows, but I still have the black screen issue, and I cannot open anything.
I enjoyed it while it lasted, unfortunately due to windows updates the changes you make will eventually be overwritten.
You can disable windows updates like I did and make restore points to get it back.

I put the logon screen files along side other applications and modified files into a folder called "alt resources"; later on, I ran a script that places all of the files into their respective locations.
