I dint know if they are the same, but they acting strange... its difficult to do exact operations with them, of course in the end you get the value you want, but feels a bit unpredictable.
Perhaps I’m the only one: but I don’t like the sound and I think I’m going to return it. Everytime I start using one of the noises as an attack the kick sound strange and not useful for me… with my sound experience I can’t seeing meyself using this live (not with the current Workflow) or in any production…
I’ve tried to gain match the mki in ableton and will sync and reupload the video. Everything is default on both machines and I think a mixture of mki patterns maybe having lower volume and analog filters and vcas having natural differences may have contributed to this sound, so I’ve increased the gain on mki to try and combat that but there is still a slight difference imo. That being said, the analog filters and vcas may be causing unit to unit differences by being analog, rather than it being a mki to mkii difference. I notice on my mkii if I route the samples through the filter even with the filter fully open the brightness drops noticeable. So it could also be default pattern routing making the difference. I am not going to go into every sound and adjust the parameters to get matching sounds as I’ve packaged up the mki for sale. This video is just comparing factory reset default sounds and patterns and will have any biases built into those defaults
Yeah the actual screen is a bit bigger but the text is a bit smaller so on the parameter pages you actually see two rows of parameters instead of just one. I like this change so you can tweak multiple rows at once and see what’s going on. I haven’t played around with the settings yet so maybe you can change that and brightness etc but best to read the manual to see if that’s possible
This is straight out of both machines factory reset 🤷🏻♂️ in ableton I’ve increased the gain of mki as I think the default patterns drop the volume a bit, so tried to gain match. I haven’t had time to sync the updated audio to the video and reupload but given these are analog filters in all, there could also be differences between both. I notice on my mkii if I route the samples through the filters, even wide open, it loses some brightness. Could be natural analog differences to your machine
Thank You for this great Review! 👌👌
That kick-drum is still unmatched by any other drum machine or box in 2024.
It boggles my mind that Jürgen didn't take the opportunity to redesign the layout for better UX on the Mk2... 😵
Hello! I used to have an MK1 and hated the encoders. Does the Mk2 have the same encoders as the Mk1? Thank you!

sounds more detailed and open than the mk 1

Ordered mine recently. Could you post some more videos please? 😊
How do you like it so far??
Thnks for posting. The new screen has so small text. Can you actually see it?

This seems staged. The original does not sound that flat. Gtfoh
